When we searched for a church family locally, we struggled mostly because we loved Hope Community so much back in Raleigh. We went to all kinds of churches from Jacksonville to Hampstead. One Saturday night I googled churces in Hampstead, NC and Renovation came up amongst others. I felt compelled to give them a try too... We drove the 25 minutes to Topsail Middle School and I was complaining in my head - why are you compelling me Lord to drive 30 minutes to church? (Shallow right? Boy did I earn a slap in the face for that one.) WOW! Just WOW! Have you ever been to churches where you feel like they are just going through the motions, or tired, or status quo or just lost their zest? NOT THIS CHURCH!!! I literally wanted to join after pulling into park, but every detail has been thought of... planned out... your experience... God's word is so compelling by itself, but they get it! They understand the needs of humanity. I wanted to be apart of a forward-thinking, bible believing, God-loving church that wasn't singular and thought globally. I wanted to be apart of a church that was working hard to win people for Christ, who really wanted to reach every man, woman, and child... not just said it, but actually believed it! I wanted to be apart of a church that was giving back in more ways that I could imagine. I wanted to be apart of a church that is knee-deep in the local community, but also volunteering abroad. If your spiritual cup is empty, please give Renovation a try. If your kids are as huge to you as my little one is to me, then you will love Renovation. The kids program is bar-none! The kids literally convene in tents and it's like a campfire every Sunday. If you are looking to get involved, come to Renovation. There are so many ways to help and I can't even believe this church is so young being just a little over a year old. They have been hard at work tirelessly and effortlessly putting together opportunities for us to gather, love each other, save people for Christ, and teach the bible. The music - oh the music - the worship - teaching me, learning fervently like a little sponge... It's fun (yes. God's word is fun.), contemporary, milleniall-esque (is that a word?) start-up approach, engaging, and the words on the page of the bible come to life with every breath this church takes. It's not just a church for me now... it's my new church family! Thank you God for leading me here.
