If you're going to charge over 9 Euro for a pint of Guinness, you should pour it properly. I ordered two Guinness', and the bar-tender poured it all the way to the top and just handed it to us like it was lagers. For nearly 20 Euro's, you can do better than that. read more

Full Irish breakfast! Football on the televisions! Friendly Irish and English staff! While I'm fully committed to meeting locals, trying new things and staying away from typical tourist traps, I also see the benefit sometimes of giving myself a break and chilling out in a familiar zone. After several days of sputtering through my broken French, smiling and nodding, stressing about menus and purchases and etiquette, it was a damn relief to belly up to this bar, order a Guinness and have a chat in English without feeling awkward. Located in an ideal area just between St. Germain and Notre Dame, this Irish pub is dark, no-frills, welcoming and has the friendly option of half-pints. The Magners was wonderful and crisp and the Guinness was a decent pint. Highly recommend for a break in Paris. read more

My home away from home! This was my local when I lived in Paris and everytime I go back I have to pay a visit. This was the best Irish bar to go to when you were in need of the craic and it helped that it was about a 2 minute walk from our front door. Friday nights were always the best night to go thanks to Jan the Man! I could go every week and hear the same songs over and over and over again and never get bored.... especially when it came to his Christy Moore renditions. The only way to describe him is 'a German who learned the English language through watching every single episode of Father Ted 10 million times'.......... pure brilliance. If, after practicing your French all day long, you're longing for a cold one and some familiarity, Corcoran's is a great bet. The staff we met were all native English speakers and the beers were plentiful with a great selection on tap. The bartender was warm and engaging (teasing us for trying a somewhat "girlie" cherry beer - which I don't recommend, by the way, except as a dessert). In the background was Blur, the Police and U2 - home away from home! It was also amusing in that context to see guys in dreads and baggy pants kissing each other multiple times on the cheek to say hello. Prices are reasonable (by expensive Paris standards) and there is plenty of room to sit and talk and enjoy. Plus, football (aka soccer) on the telly. Oh, and did I mention that the best crepes in town are across the street? Place Saint Michel is just around the corner, full of Parisian students, so the area is full of energy. Things get going around 10pm and don't close down until the wee hours. Hitting up the pub, getting a crepe, and then wandering around the area is a great way to spend an evening. read more

We had so much fun visiting Corcoran's! The waiters were fabulous and very attentive to our needs. It seemed like they searched exclusively for Irish waiters as they all seemed to have lovely Irish accents and spoke perfect English. The food was delicious and had HUGE portions. I had the chicken pot pie on my fist visit and fish/chips on my second visit. Both were well cooked and very tasty. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the ambiance of the location and the local patrons. And...the beer. Gotta love the Killkenny beer. Mmmmmmm. read more

We finally broke down during the trip and decided we needed a break from the French experience...and a good pint. We came in during a transitional period in the day so there wasn't much happening and the kitchen was closed but the bartender was very friendly (especially after I initially mistook him for an American but he is in fact Scottish with an unusually light accent!) The music was good and it was very nice to have a respite and feel "at home". The beer selection is pretty limited (for someone coming from the Craft Beer Mecca of San Diego) but who cares when you can have a perfectly poured Guinness? read more

If you go here make sure to try one of their cocktails, my personal favorite is monkey balls (yes that is the name) that tastes like a boozy milkshake. Well, this was one of my favorite pubs in Paris and i would take my friends from out of town there because it has a great location and live music! Sadly I wont be going back after the way management treated me last night( The bar staff is great but the manger there has no idea what he is doing!(message to Owner) I arrived around 5pm for the happy hour, I stayed till around 9 and was cut off from drinking but no one could tell me why? The bar staff said it was management? so i asked to speak with manger because i had no idea as to why, the only thing i could think of was i told them one of there taps did not taste right, but i wasn't be rude i was just informing them, the bartender tried it and agreed it was not right? The manger would not see me so i confronted him cause i was just wondering why as were other customers that i was cut off?? He said i tripped on the stairs??? So i guess you can not trip in the bar???? Never going back, NEVER bringing my friends from out of town, the management there is the worst I have ever seen! This place used to be one of my favorites in Paris. They always had friendly staff, a nice atmosphere and a good beer selection. Last weekend I was back in Paris and so I went back to the Corcoran's at Saint Michel. I was really looking forward to it but that changed when I found out they changed the beer selection and tried it. The wonderful beer selection they had has been replaced by 4 or 5 different kinds of O'Hara's craft beer. When poured in a glass they look awful and dead and that is exactly how they taste. I don't remember tasting beer that tasted so awful. It's sad because the Corcoran's Irish Pub was really a nice place with a nice atmosphere and the staff is still nice and friendly as well. Now I can only recommend this pub if you want to have a Guinness or a whiskey. I really felt sorry for the friendly staff behind the bar because they can't help they can't offer their clients a nice and enjoyable beer. I really hope the management will decide to go back to the old beer selection or at least decide to offer something else besides O'Hara's. I still give this place 3 stars because the staff is friendly. read more

En effet, un pub vit suivant son personnel et ses humeurs (s'il souffre de la " gueule de bois " ou de sa copine qui l'a quité, etc.) Ah, je sais, normalement le client est roi et le service doit être excellent à tout moment et c'est ce que le Management doit pousser. I think my previous review of this place got lost but the draft beers this place serves made me really sad. Together with with 4 friends we stepped in because the place looked nice. We were looking forward to a nice pint but we were so disillusioned when we tried the beer they had on tap. Besides Guinness they only had O' Hara's beer on tap. We didn't know this but we are not afraid to try something new and so we ordered a pint of each but we really didn't like any of them. Infact, we all agreed these were the most horrible beers we ever tried. It's sad that a nice place in St Michel that has so much potential doesn't have nice beer on tap besides Guinness. We like the staff. They were fast and friendly. They did their job fine and so we even left them a tip but oh, the beer..... If you like O'Hara's or Guinness this is the place to be. If you don't like O'Hara's go somewhere else. If you don't know O'Hara's ask for a sample first because you buy a pint of it. Chances are pretty fair you won't like it so be aware. read more
