Most amazing restaurant from every aspect. We just finished dining all over Europe and this little restaurant hands down blew us away. The ambience was genuine French countryside (with a mix of a sports bar inside that didn't really match??), but given everything else was off the charts we didn't mind. The service was 5-star level with their manners, panache, and the knowledge and experience you would only expect at a Michelin-grade chophouse. The food. Spectacular. No words. Presentation was surprisingly impressive even with their side dishes. Their New Zealand Lamb Chops were criminal. Lamb will never be the same after having theirs. It. Was. Perfect. I did not care for any of their side sauces, which were on point, but I just prefer a simpler wine sauce. The wife ordered the Filet Mignon, which was prepared perfectly and was that melt in your mouth tenderness you hope for. Their included sides were asparagus, glazed carrots, AND mashed potatoes which were all fantastic. Appetizer was a jumbo white prawn cocktail which was good (wife birthday choice ;), even though I was eying their Wood Oven Oyster Rockefeller with spinach, bacon, and bearnaise sauce. Next time...sigh. The dessert was so good it was like torture after being so full. Thought I just had the best cheesecake ever that weekend at the Fairmont which was a Pistachio cheesecake with Boscotti crumbles. This blew it away. DARK CHCOLATE OREO CRUSTED WITH A DARK CHEERY COMPOTE. O.M.G. Wife had a banana crème brûlée which was equally amazing. Oh and they forced us to have as many dessert drinks as we liked (her bday came in handy) on a drink cart. (A full bar lol from scotches, sherries, brandies, ports, any style of chocolate liqueur). The service at Cordeiro's is top notch! They make you feel at home and catered to. We started off the meal with a couple cocktails and the calamari & shrimp. The dish had good flavor with the highlight being how fresh the shrimp tasted. Next level freshness that would resonate through the meal. The one thing I would adjust with this dish is the level of crispiness. I normally order fries extra crispy and I should have done the same with this. Next was the french onion soup and the Caesar salad. The soup was classic style with the onions being on the sweeter side. Good rendition. The salad was something that my friends had raved about and it was quite good. Nothing wrong with it but I have had better. The presentation was cool too. For my entree I had the ribeye steak. It comes with potatoes and vegetables. The steak was good but I would have preferred a higher char level. I ordered medium rare and it was closer to medium. Cooked at a higher temp for a shorter time would have been better, still the steak had good flavor. The potatoes and veggies were uninspired but there was nothing wrong with them. I order fries on the side which like the calamari could have been crispier. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. My wife had one of the specials for her entree, the ahi poke salad. This dish was delicious. Again the freshness of the seafood stood out. A terrific balance of flavors with some wasabi heat. 10 for 10. It was my birthday so the restaurant gave me a free chocolate mousse dessert which was delightful. All in all a good meal. We will likely return but next time focus on the seafood as I believe this is where Cordeiro's excels. read more

If you want a special dining experience, being treated special in a dining room not crammed with tables, Cordeiro is a wonderful choice off the beaten path for a night of older school steakhouse dinner. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant has a number of small to medium sized dining areas inside, outside, and at the bar for you to select from. When we walked out around 9pm, the bar area is still completely full. The Ceasar salad prepared tableside is a must have. We split one salad so we could also enjoy other appetizers. The one person portion is huge that there is plenty of salad even we split. The specials sounded like a great way to go but since it was our first time dining there we stick with the classics. We had the double cut pork chop and the lamb chops as our mains. Both come with carrots and asparagus. We ordered a side mushroom but realized the vegetables that came with the mains were plentiful (and yummy). Corkage was $30, very reasonable! Service was attentive and polished. read more

We decided to visit here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Decent wine list with many wines by the glass and bottle. My wife opted for French onion soup and I decided on the clam chowder. Both soups were very enjoyable. It was fun to watch our waiter make Caesar salad at the table. There was also a moving bar to make drinks at the table. The rib eye steak was cooked perfectly with potatoes augratin, asparagus and carrots. There was a peppercorn sauce on the side. My wife's rack of lamb was perfectly cooked. The restaurant had a lot of character. At one time it was an old house. A lot of nice plants and very comfortable setting. The meal was very filling. We took a piece of cheese cake home for dessert. The place is cute and cozy. The restroom is well maintained. There is plenty of seating. There is also seating at the bar. My little one ordered kids pasta and fries. My husband and I shared the special ribeye, pork belly and Cesar salad. The price for the entree was definitely not worth it, especially when it took nearly an hour for them to serve it. I was expecting they would serve my little one's food before us. Unfortunately she also had to wait an hour to get a kid's pasta. I honestly don't see us coming back here in the future. Absolutely was not expecting the best onion soup I've ever had at this place. It was spectacular and a must do.

Big fan of Cordeiros but they fell short all the way around for a celebration dinner on a Wednesday evening. I don't eat red meat much so ordered the special halibut. The sauces offered were not something I usually go for. I was told the chimichurri, which is a pungent herb based sauce, was not spicy hot. It should not be, but I always ask. I ordered it on the side and good thing as it was very spicy. Another person at the table loves spice so they enjoyed it on their steak. The lemon beurre blanc sauce was a lemon butter tub in a bad way. Third sauce was something I would definitely not order nor recall. I substituted fries for the mashed potatoes and they arrived hot and crispy best item on the plate. The fish was dry and flavorless without a sauce. I usually order the lobster or the prawns but wanted to try something different. My table ordered the table side ceaser which was nice but no anchovies were offered but brought when requested. My beat and goat cheese salad and the Pork chop was the winner at the table. I was told the pork chop was cooked to perfection and flavorful. I was disappointed in the service from our waiter. It was not busy when our party of four was seated. We watched as tables came and went he accommodated our requests but was inattentive. At the end your meal the liquor cart is brought and complimentary pours are offered. Not this time I had to ask our server who blamed someone else for not bringing it. Every time I have eaten there it's the server who brings the cart over. I do miss their chocolate fondue which was removed from their complimentary service years ago. Overall underwhelmed and disappointed as I always talk this place up and drive from the East Bay to dine there. I want to add the front of the house staff, specifically the female busser was on point with service and very personable as she always is. This may have been an off evening. Corkage fee was waived which was appreciated. All and all this is a good bet for meat and potato eaters. read more

Celebrated my husband's birthday here. A table was not available on the Open Table app, so I phoned the restaurant instead and left a message. A representative phoned me back within 10 minutes and was kind enough to accommodate us. The restaurant itself reminds me of a Tudor style home. It's quaint, comfortable, with a touch of romance. However, they should probably remove the remaining Christmas decor on the front lawn. The food was excellent. I ordered the short rib which was one of the house specials. It melted in my mouth. My husband ordered the rib-eye which was cooked perfectly. Although I was pleased with the quality of the service overall, I believe that a few matters need to be mentioned. The house manager came around the remind one of our waiters to offer refills on our beverages. Our head waiter also forgot my sister's cocktail all together. At the end of the meal, I noticed liquor carts parked throughout the restaurant. I knew beforehand from previous Yelp reviews that complimentary tastings are offered at the end of the meal; however our party was not offered this until I inquired. I'm not certain if this was because the restaurant was closing at that time. There was another private party in the terrace. Overall, I would rate this establishment a solid 4 out of 5. I would return, but ask for an earlier reservation time because we like to linger. read more

I'm going to give this restaurant a four star. But I have eaten at restaurants in Southern California that I think are just a little bit better food wise. I had filet mignon cooked medium and it was good but something was missing. My husband had rack of lamb and he loved it, both came with potatoes and asparagus. We also had bread which was very yummy including the butter. We've been drinking wine all day so I had an old-fashioned instead of wine. We skipped dessert because we were too full. They did a small after dinner drink such as amaretto, but we both declined. Our server's name was Jimmy but when he said his name, it didn't sound like that. We had dinner reservations, so it was pretty dark when we got to the restaurant. We were led to our table, located in an add-on building, which I'm sure looks way prettier during the day. However, when we went, I felt like we were sitting in an awkward addition to the main dining hall- almost like a bungalow with glass walls. The food. The oysters Rockefeller were delicious! Loved every bite. The seafood pasta was good, and had a decent amount of seafood, but nothing amazing. The salmon was well cooked, but had a slight "fishy" smell to it (yes, I'm aware that salmon IS a fish). Lastly, the steak. We came for their steak. Sadly, the steak was a flop for us. Tender, yes. Flavor? Wasn't quite there for us. We've definitely had better steaks in Las Vegas. I hate writing "sad" reviews, but Cordeiro's Steakhouse just didn't deliver as I had hoped for. read more

This is the best steakhouse in Napa and it's not even close. You'll love the courteous staff service. The ambiance is amazing. I came during dinner time and while it was raining. So, I didn't sit outside. I took a seat at the bar. I waited for my friend Ray. Apparently everyone there knows him, so I got the VIP treatment. I started the same as I always do at a new place: Clam chowder and an old fashioned. This was a top clam chowder... EVER. I've been all over the US and to 17 countries. This was so good. The presentation was very good for a soup. The old fashioned was very tasty with the perfect amount of sweetness, but still plenty strong. I ordered a poke salad (which isnt on the menu), along with a Rose wine. I dont care whats in season or not, I just love a good crisp Rose and this one was absolutely marvelous from The Destiny Family Wine collection. The pour size was average. This poke salad is something of legend apparently. They only serve it when there's fresh ingredients. So dont be disappointed if they dont have it upon your visit. It was dark, so the pictures didnt do it justice. Finally, I had the duck confit flatbread: Caramelized Onion ~ Pt. Reyes Blue Cheese ~ Red D'Anjou Pear. This was a masterpiece of flavors in your mouth. I couldn't even finish it. I could tell it came from a wood fired oven and personally turned by the executive chef Marcos. He came out to our bar area to check on us. This is an amazing hidden gem just 7 minutes from Downtown Napa. It's the kind of place that should be in the Michelin guide. Parking - 5/5 time to be served - 5/5 time to be acknowledged - 5/5 quality - 5/5 return value - 5/5 I didnt find any areas of improvement, but I also didnt go to the bathroom like I normally do for all my reviews. Sorry to drop this to 2 stars. The service was just okayed today. Steak was undercooked. Bread was cold. At the end there was no fondae fruit or dessert shots. If they want to cut all the good things and memories of this restaurant (there is no more truffle chocolate!), they possibly will lost me as a regular customer. Forget to mention we made reservation and they gave us a tiny table and I have to hold my purse and scarf the whole time. They even have to box our appetizers before they can bring out the steak because there is not enough space but we saw they seated someone with the 4 seats table after us. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and the staff was incredibly attentive. What made the night truly unforgettable was the owner personally visiting our table to give a tableside review of their liquor and cocktail selection--complete with stories, pairings, and recommendations tailored to our tastes. I think you're really just paying for the chill ambiance and really nice staff that go above and beyond. The drinks were good. My fish could've had more flavor (I ordered the sea bass or sum like that) and my date ordered steak. She enjoyed her food. I also mostly enjoyed it, but the potatoes could've been more flavorful. We went to Cordeiro's for dinner based on yelp reviews for a good steak house in Napa that was not a chain. We started with the oysters rockefeller, which were excellent, picking up some of the smoke from the wood oven. I've always been fascinated in regards to 'where things come from / how they came to be'. These gems (oysters rockefeller) were assembled in New Orleans in the late 1800s to overcome a shortage of snails for escargot, and were named after the wealthiest man in the US, John Rockeller, as a testament to their luxury and richness. Thank goodness for their genesis, because I'm not a fan of escargot hahaha. In any event, Cordeiro's does a great oysters rockefeller. My partner ordered the ribeye and loved it, I opted for the snake river farms pork chop. While it was very good, I wasn't into it. That's my fault. Would I go back? Absolutely. Went for my birthday and the service, special attention from staff and quality of food and wine made this a memorable experience and will definitely be back! I went with some close friends and they also enjoyed their steaks and sides, with everyone loving the desserts! My dessert of course came with a lit candle as a nice gesture but thankfully no song by the staff and we had champagne so it was one truly happy birthday dinner! The seating spaces are a bit small but the decor and traditional style was all appreciated. The cost was as expected given the popularity of Napa now as a destination for more tourists due to the Riverwalk and downtown's more elite hotel, store and restaurant offerings then in the past. We were fortunate enough to go to this restaurant three times in December to celebrate with friends and family. We were never disappointed. We always received a welcoming greeting at the door and shown to the tables we had requested when we made our reservation. There are several cute rooms to choose from- all have their own ambiance and charm. The staff are helpful and very competent. Special kudos to Sean (our waiter) and Abraham his assistant - always ready with whatever we need. The food has been excellent - my husband always loves the lamb, and I prefer the seafood. But I think our favorite is the table side prepared Caesar salad with a nice glass of ZD Chard. We save room for dessert to share and an after dinner liquor. We have also loved hearing about the history of restaurant and its unique location. I've been here a few times and really enjoy the atmosphere and service. After coming here it's easily compared to other steakhouses. However, what sets them apart is the service and simply making one feel "special." It's definitely on the pricier side for me but worth it, especially for really special occasions. Though you may spend 2-3 hours hours here they don't make you feel like you're waiting for them and items come out and orders placed on time. The first time I went Sammy was the server. He took care of us. My bone in filet minon was the best thing I've ever eaten in a long time. I like my meat rare and it was tender and perfect. We ordered appetizers and desert, on top of the complementary items. I also like the lamb chops and have consistently had them medium rare a few times. I'd def come back but something didn't sit right with me last time I went. I thought I ordered the same bone in filet minon and asked for "very rare." Jimmy, my server, repeated. Unfortunately, I got it medium. It was good but I wasn't as happy as the other time, spending $90. His assistant asked me how it was when I almost done with it. But overall the entire was good, with perfectly made gnocchi and spinach on the side. Even after the complementary fruit with chocolate tray, I wanted desert. But at this time I felt Jimmy was done with us and quickly handed us the check, without asking if there was anything else. On another note they are very accommodating. Even if they don't have the particular soda they will make it. I also asked for a chocolate martini (my usual at steakhouses).
