I really like this studio, and it's my favorite out of all the CPY locations I've been to. I love that there are two studios and that they offer classes from 6:00 am to 8:30 pm. There's really no excuse not to go. The space is clean, well maintained, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. They also have a great selection of workout clothes at reasonable prices. I attend yoga a lot , this wasn't the studio with inclusivity & community for me. Solid studio and I love how clean it is inside! Some of my favorite instructors are Xuyen Fi, Lindsay H, Lauren K, and Carrie G. They are my favorite for sculpt and I always feel great after a workout. I am not the biggest fan of Tamara Ro as her sculpt has a lot more dancing, which is fun if you are into that, but I didn't feel like I had a good workout since the exercises weren't challenging. I took Ashley M for sculpt and she was extremely entitled, but I believe she is transferring to another studio. I took sculpt classes with her (when she wasn't the instructor), and she would give me dirty looks, which didn't create a supportive environment. I also don't recommend taking Karen Bl, since she never does the exercises with you and quickly criticizes if you are taking a break or modifying positions. I was trying to leave the class once to take a break, and she wouldn't let me. She also increases the temperature in the class way too hot (esp in C2), and it feels like a HPF class. Overall, I like the studio and majority of the instructors! read more

I used to attend Core Power over a decade ago when there was only two studios. I loved it. Since then it's become a big corporate chain and I have pretty low expectations when taking a class. There's very little instruction or attention given to students. They charge more money than most studios for no individualize attention whatsoever. That being said, I was so disappointed in the class I took today lead by Tamara Rodriguez. This teacher had no interest in connecting with students. I had the feeling that she wanted to just perform for the class the whole time. She never seemed to pay any attention to students and instead starred and herself in the mirror the whole time. When doing a pose she didn't demonstrate how to correctly move into a pose, but instead would force her body straight into a pose, often not done correctly. She'd mess up a breathing flow to recite some chakra mantras she remembered. I finally was able to get over my issues with the teacher and focused on having the best class I could have. But then came savasana... To me, savasana is a gift at the end of class. The point is to move into a truly relaxed state and serve as a starting point for meditation. Well Tamara takes this as her opportunity to perform... again. She began belting out a song. I was totally amazed that the studio would allow this. I'm not taking about some ohm shanti chanting. This was as if she was auditioning for American Idol. This person doesn't seem to have any interest in being a teacher and instead cares about being seen. As if no principles of being a teacher were given during her training. Two stars is for the cleanliness of the studio and the friendliness of the front desk staff. But this experience is a great reminder of why I normally avoid corporate studios who focus on pumping out instructors, packing classes and providing quantity, not quantity. read more

Last time coming here. Joined with ClassPass and was trying to attend a 3pm class today and arrived at 3:05, but the front door was locked. So not only did I miss the class, but also have to pay a fee to ClassPass for a "missed reservation". If you plan to come here, be early or expect to be locked out if you're a few minutes late. read more

It's in the beautiful flower field shopping plaza. If you park in the back ( sharp entrance) , you can just walk straight to the studio. There are only 2 studios (one is quite small, I feel claustrophobic in this room hence I don't come here often!) and the classes are limited compared to other locations. I love yoga sculpt but the schedule here is not very pleasing and very restricted. The place is cleaned and very organized. read more

I was late 5 minutes and they didn't let me in, they said it was going to be disruptive, let alone the door to the studio was open and they had annoying dogs barking all over the studio lobby. The instructors are all stuck up and they don't care about their customers. If I could give a negative rating I would. Please save your time and don't even come this crappy studio!!! read more

Corepower has gotten really expensive in the past few years, prices are way higher than when it first came to San Diego. That aside this particular studio has pluses and minuses. Pluses: + Main studio is large and can accommodate a lot of people before it feels crowded. I like the side mirror so you can see your alignment from a different angle + No late entries into class! I see people ding Corepower for this but I love it. I hate it when people enter a class that is already going and expect everyone to stop and rearrange for them. + Ample cubbies for shoes + Retail area is big if that's a positive for you (I've never bought anything) Minuses: -Second studio is small and can accommodate 2 rows of students. When a 3rd row is forced in it is awkward and uncomfortable. I had to push my mat to the back wall and then during the flow i accidentally kicked the wall when I lifted my leg and thought I might've broken my toe. I avoid classes in this room if I think it will be too jammed. - Locker room can't accommodate everyone when a big class lets out. Toilets don't ventilate and stink -Access to the shopping center and parking can be a pain, especially in the summer fair and races seasons. read more

Zero Customer Loyalty. I was a member for many years and had to cancel due to a brain injury. When I called to cancel I was not told about the ability to freeze vs. cancel. Today called to rejoin I was told that my membership rate would increase to current rate (even though I am a previous client/customer and was injured). Was barely gone for a little over six months to recover. When I called to re-establish there was no "Thank you for being a previous Member" or "I'm sorry no one explained to you cancellation vs. freeze" the conversation was simply "We cannot bring you back at your previous rate". Period. When I explained the frustration of being a previous member for years and that out of principle I'd need to take my business elsewhere, they said "OK". What frustrates me most about the way they approached this is there was zero courtesy, zero customer service and I am now very sorry that I spent any money with Core Power Yoga at all. I have been a Core Power member for awhile now.  This is the BEST yoga studio in San Diego.  I never did yoga, much less hot yoga before, but I'm a huge fan now.  They are in a great location and the showers are actually CLEAN, and the studio is very nice.  Also, the teachers are GREAT.  They push you, and you can definitely see a difference on your body. Yoga at this studio is an amazing experience, and don't be scared about the heat, you'll get addicted to how great your body feels that you won't even notice it. read more

CorePower! Or CPY! We all know I'm a huge wannabe yogi (I only say wannabe because I haven't mastered those inversions yet) and we all already know that CPY rocks but dang, this location has it made. While Encinitas is still my first & foremost home spot, Del mar can be my close second. Located in the second floor, you can't miss this large n beautiful studio. This CPY prolly has the most gear than most as I saw they have a HUGE collection of tights, cups, you name it yogi clothes. As for the studios, they do still have two but they are a little smaller and maybe don't have the same sunlight peeking in as Encinitas ( or maybe only one studio does not sure). This is by far the nicest and cleanest Corepower yoga facility. This studio is one of the newest locations in San Diego county. I've been going on and off to this location for year now. Currently i hit the dry spell since the prices are keep going up and the class size keeps increasing. When you go after work hours, it gets very tight and crowded. It makes the whole yoga class and experience not enjoyable. For the money you pay (140/month) they don't provide free of charge towels or mats. Most of the instructors are very enthusiastic and passionate about their work.The variety of classes is decent, they range from beginner to advance levels. Overall its a beautiful new location, give this place a shot, they have a free week for new members (no obligations). read more

I recently joined this club, and I couldn't be happier. I'm a few months in and I have to say, the staff has been so unbelievably helpful and kind. I've never felt intimidated or unwelcome by the staff or the community in the classes. I feel compared to other Core Power's it's very clean and tidy. That's important to me being that you do wonder about in the rooms without shoes. I highly recommend this Del Mar location. It's certainly changing me on the inside and the outside. One week free?! Awesome. Sign me up! I've been wanting a change in my normal work out so yoga was definitely an option to put in my routine. I tried it in my local gym and loved it. My friend Mel told me about the classes at Core Power Yoga and to print out a coupon for 1 week free so I can try it. It's always a great motivator for me when I get out of my comfort zone to go with my friends. We went on Sunday evening to the core power 1 class and I loved it. I was surprised it wasn't a heated class because I was already sweating waiting for the class to start. This class is perfect for beginners like me. AJ taught the class and was great. At first I was just looking around to see what everyone was doing but then I got used to it and all the different names for the poses. I'm finding yoga as a good place for me to get my mind off of everything and just relax. There are multiple studios and a bunch of classes being offered. Definitely worth it to try for a week and continue if you like it. read more

I can not believe the instructor today at the 12 noon yoga sculpt was inconsiderate of her students , enough to bring her dog to the yoga studio while she taught over 2 different classes! 1) how selfish of her not to consider the people attending the class and how they would feel about a random dog sitting there. 2) lawsuit if the dog just happened to bit some one. The problem with dog people is they don't consider how other people feel about your animals! So have some respect for other and leave your damn animal at home. Your actions today where very Unprofessional for a classy yoga studio. Frankly there she be a no pet policy specially from instructors. This place is the McDonalds of Yoga. It's designed to get as many people in the room as possible. However, there's no instruction at all. No individualized attention whatsoever. Instructors are twenty somethings that could care less if you're doing postures correctly. Basically, it's all about quantity, nothing about quality. If you're an experienced yogi, you'll find most students performing the postures incorrectly. It's sad, because the students are paying top dollar, and getting ZERO instruction. If you're looking for a studio, find one that will teach you the movements properly. Not a studio with the goal of packing as many bodies in a room, and then completely ignoring you once they have your money. Don't waste your time with this place. Another complaint, there's absolutely no discipline. Students do whatever they want and don't follow the structure of the class. It's very distracting to other students. But don't worry, those twenty something instructors won't address anything. Anything goes here. Do whatever you want. Attend a class, don't do one posture correctly, be 20 minutes late, whatever. It is by far my favorite CPY studio in San Diego. It is a little hard to find if you just use a navigator though because it is inside the shops of Flower Hill. Love that there's 2 rooms here so more classes are available and we don't have to wait until the last minute when the people from the previous class exit to storm in and stake our spots. i typically go to encinitas cp but decided to go to del mar this day because the time aligned better with my schedule. i went to class and the second i walked in the door the instructor was not nice at all and picked on me the whole class. her name was "karen bl" and i felt awkward and embarrassed with all her unnecessary comments she decided to throw at me throughout the class like for yawning or not smiling (multiple times) which quite frankly is just none of her concern. i wasn't aware of the strict phone policy at del mar as it isn't like that at encinitas and she once again, rudely called me out in front of the class to put my phone away since i was on it before the class started since i arrived early. im not a sensitive person and love when the instructors help me better my practice, but this lady was just mean and made me feel awkward and singled out. she honestly ruined my day and after i finished that class i didn't want to go to yoga for days after. she was entitled and made me feel like i wasn't supposed to be there and didn't treat anyone else in the same way. won't be going back to this location read more

It's really annoying that you can not call the Studio directly and all calls go to Denver Colorado. It makes it seem even more corporate. Obviously not focused on personal relationships. The classes are not bad, but they have no support for class pass members. I would rather support the local studios that actually care. read more

The sculpt classes are a great kick-ass workout but they pack you in like sardines, so much that you can hardly move without running into the person next to you, in front of you and behind you. The thing that ultimately turned me off was the front desk staff....very unfriendly and some of them are extremely rude. No way to treat a customer paying $140 per month. Also, the automatic water bottle refilling fountain was broken for a month. A studio that prides itself on getting people to sweat in 100 degree heated rooms, should never have a broken water fountain for a month! read more

I'm hooked! I avoided CorePower at first, assuming that as a large chain, it wouldn't be that intimate, but I was wrong! Each location is the same as for having retail, lockers, showers, free lock rental, etc, but each location has different retail sections! (Fun!) I workout onon a regular basis at Equinox Gym Lacosta. My daughter is going to camp this week at if I were a bird yoga studio for children. I decided to take a class today at core power yoga because I was told how wonderful it was, not to mention several their instructors teach at equinox. I must say I give it a WOW!!!! My experience was amazing , yoga sculpt was great. I will definitely get a membership because of the frequency of classes they offer unlike a gym that only offers 1 to 2 classes a day of yoga. read more

Through classpass I've been able to try around the yoga studios in San Diego - including many of corepower's locations. Del Mar is still my favorite for the friendly check-in staff, variety of classes, and the welcoming culture. They do have locker rooms with showers, ample waiting space, and intuitive layout of the studios. I go here for their sculpt and HPF class. Compared to other CPY's, i find the classes to be more inspiring/intense. But as always you can adjust the reps/poses based on what you want out of class. I find myself leaving energized, relaxed, and motivated. Highly recommend read more

Had my first two "professional" yoga classes here. The Core Power 1.5 and the Hot Power Fusion. Loved them both! Alex (HPF) was engaging and fun. The hour flew by. Her provided very clear instructions and gave easily understandable modifications for increasing or decreasing the intensity. Lillian was equally engaging. The class environment was very welcoming. I could tell she really enjoys teaching. Excellent cueing and hands on alignment corrections. read more

I L.O.V.E. this location! It feels like a home away from home. No matter what class I attend or which instructor is leading.... I always walk out feeling a little better than when I walked in! I don't know how Amy Rae does it, but she is GREAT with names! She never fails to remember my name when I come in, even if there are a few weeks between my practices. CorePower Del Mar embraces innovation and surrounds you with this wonderful creation while attending what could often be confused with a beautiful person convention. This sweaty testament to the hard working yogi's of Del Mar is beautifully appointed, exceptionally maintained, well-staffed, and emits a largely agreeable aroma. They offer a full range of classes beginning nearly every half hour which is good for those of us maintaining odd hours on our prison release work programs and all the instructors are incredibly friendly, helpful, and easy on the eyes. Doing extraordinarily slow push ups for an hour inside an active furnace couldn't be any more pleasant than this. read more

You know you're in Del Mar when the Corepower sitting area looks like a chic hotel. Was in the area for an early meeting and figured I would drop in for a sculpt class. It's located behind Sea & Smoke on the 2nd level of the shopping center. This location has 2 studio rooms and a stellar sitting area. Studio 2 was a lot smaller than studio 1 and if you're taking sculpt you have to go outside to the front of studio 1 to get weights to bring them into studio 2 for your use- kind of annoying. I went in the middle of lunch hour and parking wasn't too much of an issue, but be sure to give yourself a little extra time. read more

I recently got a membership here to add some variety to my exercise routine which really only consisted of cardio (spin/running). I am loving the classes at CP--especially the Yoga Sculpt classes. The reasons why I am digging this place right now are as follows: 1) Yoga sculpt has plyometrics with and without weights as well as a cardio component within a yoga sequence. It's not true yoga but this works for me because I have little patience for traditional yoga most of the time anyway. 2) On the rare occasion that I do want to take a traditional yoga class/want to meditate/realign my body because it deteriorates every day I sit at my office job I can count on CP to have the class for me. 3) Convenience. The Del Mar location, unlike most other gyms around here, knows that people do work and would workout past 6:30pm. They have a standing time for yoga sculpt (6:45pm) and given that the class fills up all the time, proves (to me at least) that North County has a need for more late evening classes for the working young professionals...but I digress. 3) The facility is clean. Yeah there is sweat everywhere inside the studio but they do come in a mop after every class. 4) They have showers! 5) I feel good leaving class. I have renewed energy and am starting to see results from working out. Summer body here I come! Now if they could only get a bigger studio. They don't turn people away so sometimes we are stacked up right next to each other. Free towels would be nice as well. read more

Beautiful new studio in the lovely new Flower Hill complex. I've been to 6-7 different CPY studios in San Diego, but I think the layout of this one is most beautiful. I love that they have two studios, and classes aren't too packed. Love their touch-free filtered water dispenser, locker rooms are huge, and you don't have to nudge people or get knocked over trying to get to your locker, like the UTC and PB studios. Class offerings are diverse and the studio hosts some great teachers. I'd highly recommend Sonny's Sculpt classes--as a seasoned Sculpt devotee, his class kicks my butt more than any other instructors'. Also been to several HPF classes here, and I like that the heat/humidity is always just right at this location, whereas at others it can be a little funky. It's tucked away in the shopping complex near Pangea and Pannikin Coffee on the second floor, and parking can be sparse, so you'll want to plan for extra time to find it your first time here. read more

Super clean studio, love the cozy "living room" waiting area with the fireplace and of course can't complain about the Lululemon and fitness clothes selection. This review is super long overdue considering I moved awhile ago. But I've had the pleasure of attending many Socal Corepower locations...and this one is still by far my favorite. I feel as if the other locations are beginning to have a stiff, corporate feel where people are milled around from class to class- but not Del Mar. There's definitely a sense of community here that I haven't seen in the other locations. On top of that, the HPF class is PIPING HOT! Just how I like it :) no one likes lukewarm yoga okay? Want to change your life? Take Amanda's HPF class. She literally was the best part of my week day! She always knows how to adjust you so you can sink deeper in to the posture and better your practice. She single handedly made me fall in love with yoga. She has the most soothing voice and a great flow, and you can tell everyone in the class was very attached to her. I was so sad when I had to move last minute because I wouldn't be able to attend her classes any longer! Also, she keeps the studio hot! Just how I like it :) it bums me out when people don't turn up the heat enough in the room. Want to get your butt kicked? Take Sonny's sculpt class...omg. I literally felt like i was about to die but he only teaches during the weekdays at around noon...which is kind of hard to make if you work -_-!!! But go to his class if you want to get your butt kicked! He'll be smiling maniacally and dancing between you as you're all suffering, but its a killer workout! read more

Beautiful location and space. Unfortunately, my daughter had her babysitting money stolen out of her bag that she left in the change room cubby. It was her fault for leaving it there but it was way down in her bag at the bottom inside a zippered wallet. Somebody had time to go through not just her bag , but everyone else's too. The clients are all in the yoga class so who has time to search bags?? The girls were sweet and said they offer keys to lock the cubbies but it was my daughter's first time there and she said no lock was offered to her. The lockers should have keypads to lock them for each client. It is not always convenient to leave our valuables locked in our car. The girl at the desk said cash has been stolen before. Hmmm. Not very pleasant experience and someone is searching bags long enough to steal and nobody notices them. Get lockers with locks. read more
