While waiting for my chicken tenders to be cooked today I witnessed something that I wish I hadn't. I was at Levant Country Corner Store in Levant when a man brought back a tuna sandwich that had been made incorrectly. He asked for it to be remade so the store employee did without hesitation. After the customer left, I watched the worker unwrap the sandwich and pick off each of the black olives and put them beside the sandwich on the counter. She then went to the fridge and got the container of fresh tuna and placed it by the returned sandwich. She then grabbed a spoon and picked up the sandwich (clearly going to scrape the tuna back into the container) so I interjected and asked what she planned to do with the sandwich since it had been returned. The worker stammered and said she was going to throw it in the trash so I then asked why she had taken the time to pick off the black olives. She got viably flustered and said, "okay, thank you," which was not an answer to the direct question. She set down the sandwich back on the counter (not the trash) and got my chicken tenders for me. I hesitated and waited for her next move with the sandwich but she was avoiding it while I was there. The worker was clearly upset that I had asked her intentions because she knew I had seen why she was doing.
I do not know what happened to the sandwich after I left, but I am grossed out, now read more
