About 3 weeks ago after running into our Neighbor we had mentioned that we just got back from going out to eat and she had mentioned the same thing. Said that she came back from going to Corner Tavern & Grill and that the food was really good and that we should check it out. Being that we wanted to check out the Hype, we made our way down to the Restaurant today since it was only 3 miles away from where we lived. After walking into the Restaurant we were greeted by a Host and our Waitress asking if we wanted to just find a place to sit down. After finding a spot and sitting down we got comfortable and started looking over the menu. Our Waitress came over and started asking us about if we knew what we wanted to drink and my wife ordered a Mr Pibb and I ordered a Barq's Root Beer. After a few more minutes later the Waitress came back and asked us if we knew what we wanted to eat. I gladly mentioned that we would like the Bavarian Pretzel with the Beer Cheese and the Spicy Mustard. The waitress then mentioned she would bring over regular Mustard in case neither dipping sauce worked for us. A little while later our Bavarian Pretzel Sticks showed up and let me tell you they were hot, and very fresh. After dipping 1 Pretzel stick into the Beer Cheese, I had noticed that it had little pieces of Jalapenos in it and let me tell you that was very delicious with just a kick of heat. The Spicy Mustard on the other hand is like your normal Dijon Mustard type with a lathering of Horseradish and when you dip your Pretzel Stick into that, WHEW.. you're going to get a kick of spice and it may even help you open your sinuses. Probably about 5 minutes later our Waitress then came back and had asked how the Pretzel Sticks were and to our response was "Very delicious" and then we put in our order for a Salad to split and the Prime Rip Stromboli. The salad came out and let me tell you that the Gorgonzola Salad Dressing was so good on top of our Salad and when the Steak Stromboli came out it was hot, fresh and the Dipping Sauce was a Marinara sauce. From the beginning of our Experience to the food, to the friendliness of the Staff, and not just our Waitress because there was a food runner who ran out the food who was just as friendly, which is the main reason why I am giving this place 5 Stars. There was a whole bunch of other items on the menu that we wanted to try but that will be for another time. And oh by the way the Prime Rib Stromboli is Huge! If you have a Salad, the Bavarian Pretzels and then that, you will most certainly be full and you will walk away from that place very satisifed. So grateful that our Neighbor mentioned this place, can't wait to come back and try other food items. read more

I want to be clear: this review has nothing to do with the food or the line-level staff at Corner Tavern and Bar. In fact, we were looking forward to a great night out. This is strictly about a management decision that feels like a blatant cash grab. Our party of five headed out to watch the Super Bowl, expecting a lively atmosphere. Instead, we were met at the door with the news that there was a $75.00 cover charge just to walk through the door. To be clear, that $75 didn't go toward a single wing or a beer, it was a flat fee for the "privilege" of entry. Paying $75 for a group of five just to sit down is absolutely outrageous. What makes it even more baffling is that neither team playing in the Super Bowl this year were even local. There is no logical reason to gouge loyal customers like this. It's incredibly disappointing because this practice directly contradicts the company's own stated core values. Per their website, their mission claims: "We value people and making them feel special. Commitment, consistency, quality and passion for delivering the highest-quality food and customer service are the hallmarks of our business." Charging a massive entry fee before a customer even sees a menu doesn't make people feel "special," it makes them feel exploited. If the "hallmark" of your business is customer service, you might want to rethink pricing models that alienate your community. We took our business elsewhere and won't be rushing back. This was our second lunch visit and just like the first was excellent. Very busy both times but excellent and friendly service. Answered all our questions. The place is spotless and comfortable. Food was great. We had the daily special LobsterRoll with a generous portion of lobster. Also had the fantastic Stromboli with a great shell and delish plentiful ingredients and a nice homemade marinara. This place is now officially on our rotation. We were looking for a new place to try close to some friends and we saw some reviews for Corner. The menu looked great so thought we would check it out. There was plenty of parking on a Sunday. We were greeted right away by the bartender and were given a booth. There are plenty of tables inside as well as a few smaller tables outside. Luckily they have plenty of TVs to watch our sports. They have a great cocktail list as well as beer and wine. The food menu also looked great. We decided on some chips and salsa as well as a pizza. The drinks and food came out pretty quickly. My husband and I tried the Corner Tavern & Grill yesterday for the first time and had a great experience. There was plenty of parking and got seated right away. There was a good amount of guests around the time we went but they still had plenty of open tables. Based off the ambiance, it looks like a cool and fun place to hangout for sport events or just a general weekend spot. We ordered the calamari, garlic Parmesan tater tots, and the Buffalo Ranch flatbread. As first timers, I guess there's a pizza special on Sundays so we were given a wait time of about an hour for the flatbread but we weren't too worried. The calamari and tots came out quickly and tasted super fresh and tasty. The music was perfect and we had a great time just hanging out- one of our last date nights before becoming parents of 2 little's. We decided to take the flatbread to go and it ended up being a 30 min wait so even better. We look forward to stopping by again to try another famous NY pizza! read more

What took me so long to find this place???? Being originally from NY I am a pizza snob. A lot of places say they have "NY pizza" but this place came through. We got a white pie! It was delicious. The specials we had were the filet mignon crostini's and the chicken sandwich- just tomato, lettuce, white cheddar and mustard. All were good but the crostini's took the prize here! Another amazing meal. My sister said it's been one of the best dining experiences lately. What we ordered: Vegetarian pizza, lots of cooked veggies. They mistakenly gave us a small but it was more than plenty & had 3 pieces to take home. Lettuce wrap with chicken. It was humongous! Good quality chicken & they don't skimp. My sister's street tacos were also really good (only $11). The side salad ($6) was also high quality, dressing made in house. Some decent local wines, Sobon Rocky Top Zin from Amador county, $14. Service and food are both outstanding. This place is a real gem . The layout of the bar provides good bar seating and tv viewing. Servers are all outstanding and super personable. The food is stellar. The pizzas are great. The Caesar salad rocks. My wife is a huge fan of their pastas with homemade sauce. The lobster rolls are unique and delicious. Pretty good parking, there was outside seating as well as plenty of inside seating. We visited for lunch on Friday and were seated immediately. The food came pretty quick after we ordered. - Old fashioned burger with fries: the portion was big. The patty was well cooked and the buns were soft and fluffy. The burger tasted good. The fries were ok: hot and crispy but tasted like store bought. - Lobster roll with chips: they gave generous portion of lobster meat. The lobster was perfectly cooked (not chewy) but it was lack of flavor. The bread part was good and soft but it was only one slice of bread. First time visiting and we were not disappointed. The menu offers fresh takes on regular menu items. We got a prime rib dip, with arugula and garlic aioli and the corner burger, cooked in garlic butter, with bacon, 2 cheeses and spinach toppings. We got tots instead of housemade chips, which was a generous bowl of perfectly crisp tots. There are daily specials which were also tempting. The Bloody Mary was one of the tastiest in recent memory. Wait staff friendly, upbeat and very engaging. Thank you Courtney! It was a quiet lunch, but there's several tv's that could become a raucous atmosphere during sports broadcasts. I placed a delivery order through this establishment's website, only to receive a quoted delivery time of 80 minutes. I immediately called to cancel, but an employee urged me not to, promising they would prepare the food "right away." Unfortunately, the dispatch system was never updated; the driver arrived an hr later to collect food that had been sitting out since my call. The result was cold, inedible food that posed a legitimate food safety risk. When I contacted the restaurant to resolve this, the owner, Dominic, became belligerent. He resorted to screaming profanities and flatly refused a refund, even after I offered to return the untouched food immediately. My young children were able to hear his verbal abuse through the phone which at that point my husband had to take the phone and step outside our home because of his behavior. He actually admits below to pushing the food through and cooking it sooner and it being left out until a dasher grabbed it almost an hr later. As you can see in the many negative reviews Dominic is named specifically for being horrible and verbally abusive to his customers which come from both men and woman. His ego is hurt so badly by negative reviews that he can't help himself but to reply in an outrageously catty manner. You can't cry "I'm a small business owner. Respect me!" while behaving like a toddler that hasn't learned emotional control. Due to the owner's false accusations and refusal to take responsibility for his staff's errors, I have involved the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I have timestamps of all calls, witness statements, and documentation from DoorDash regarding the phone interaction. Along with posting my personal information that was not listed on yelp but through another website. I strongly advise potential patrons to read the owner's responses to low ratings before ordering or going to this establishment. They serve as a perfect blueprint for his lack of character and professional ethics. If you have had a similar experience, I encourage you to report it to the BBB. He mentions below that he was threatened with osha and other false "statements". However after he refused to take all untouched cold/old food back for a refund I let him know I would be reporting it to the BBB and health and safety. Which is a consumer right. Not a threat but a last resort to resolve the issue. Since the owner is confused by his own online ordering system let me explain it to anyone else that receives incorrect information. If you order through the restaurants website and it's delivered by DoorDash it is the restaurants responsibility for refund not DoorDash. DoorDash did not take payment therefore doesn't have the ability to do so. In many comments you can read how the owner refuses to make any situation right by refund. It's okay. Keep the $70 and put it toward anger management classes Dominic. read more

We tried this restaurant/bar for the first time on Wednesday after driving past it many times. It's got a great ambiance and lovely staff, definitely that small town feel. I would say it's definitely decorated like a sports bar and not necessarily catered towards family's but there were about 7 low tables that children could sit at. There weren't kids meals but the food offered would be loved by children. We ordered the riblets on special, the corner burger with mushrooms and onions, and the jersey philly cheese steak. For one of the sides we chose parmesan garlic fries and for the other we opted for tots. All the food was pretty good and at a comparable price to the other restaurants in the area. The fries were less than average, they seemed slightly old like they were under a warmer for a while. The tots were awesome though. For drinks I got the Elderflower Gin Gimlet and it was decent but I prefer more lime personally. Husband got one of the local Hazy drafts on rotation, no complaints about that. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. It wasn't busy at the time we went but it does seem to get packed sometimes when we drive by. For us I would only say 4 stars because the lack of kids options in a very family oriented town, the just ok cocktail, and the slightly old fries. I would recommend if you live in town! read more

Conveniently located in the heart of Folsom the place has a great Cheers kinda charm with 80's music, casual modern decor, and excellent service. The small house salad was fresh and tasty. For starters, after moving to Folsom, this quickly became my favorite place to go after work for drinks and food. The ambience is great and I've never had an issue with the service. They have always been extremely accommodating . I've actually managed to become friends with a lot of the staff there due to their friendly vibes. I don't think I've ever eaten anything here that was not an amazing quality. I have brought many friends and family to the tavern, and they all have become repeat customers. I really wanted to like this place. We just moved to this part of Folsom and could walk there from home. We ordered a burger, Mac and cheese and nachos. The Mac was for our 2 year old- it's not a traditional Mac, which is fine but we asked for a kid's menu and this was a suggestion for a kid's dish. It has bread crumbs and burned (not like burned to a crisp) but like crunch cheese on it- my two year old isn't interested in the fancy style Mac and cheese so she didn't eat even a single bite. My nachos weren't edible- the chips were so stale I couldn't bite them. I mentioned it but still paid $27+ for them. It also took over 30 min to get the food after we ordered. Then, they didn't have dessert like shown on the dessert menu online. I had my heart set on a chocolate lava cake- none. They also brought a dessert tray out to the table next to us and I was excited for the lemon cake. They didn't bring the dessert tray to us and I asked about the lemon cake only to find out they sold out- then the waiter brought a slice to a table right near us, I heard her say she saved it for them. I won't be back. Nothing was "good" or memorable and it was $103 for 2 adults and a toddler (no appetizers or dessert). Over priced. Underwhelming. Slow. I have been to this restaurant many times. There is a sign saying that it's a scratch kitchen and that you might experience a wait. (Paraphrased). We've given that a pass in the past but this time no. I ordered a burger but what I was in the mood for. We have had to have a low sodium poyltry diet for 4 months because of a health issue in my family. Not difficult and shouldn't take very long. The waitress was obviously concerned with our wait time because she kept checking for over 10 minutes. People coming in after us received their order before us. The owner chastised me that I could get a burger at a fast food restaurant if I wanted after complaining that my food that was ordered as medium was well done. Also asked to pay extra for grilled onions, which I couldn't find. The waitress, Dana, agreed that the burger wasnt cooked to order and she and I both looked through the burger for onions. We didn't find any. Strangely she took my plate back to the kitchen and brought back my plate with a small amount. I previously posted a review and Dominic the owner bitched me out that I should go to a fast food restaurant to get a better burger. I could have...for sure!. He also told me he wouldn't like my business again. Obviously he isn't someone I want to do business with again. The restaurant does specials all the time, very expensive but if you want something different you might find it here but expect to wait a looooong time and if it doesn't meet your expectations too bad .. he's a jerk beyond anyone I ever experienced at a restaurant. Dominic has left a post that shows his arrogant attitude. Believe me I wished things would have been better but when he and his staff dont take blame for their mistake but put it back on you. While waiting at bar there were a couple groups that picked up and left due to the fact the kitchen was backed up. Great vibe. Music not too loud (I'm only 41) and had a good soundtrack going. Your normal beer/cider/cocktail menu, but what I'm writing about is the food. We had a roasted beet salad with chicken and a lemon arugula pizza. The bar pie is great. I was gonna ask them to cook it well because I like a crispy bottom, but it came very well cooked. We have given this place a chance 4 different times now. We really wanted to love this place since it's walking distance from our home and gave off the "local" vibe. However, this place makes me question if we get treated differently because we don't have the "local" look. Three of the four times we have shown up to a complete empty restaurant and left with the same emptiness yet we were not allowed to sit in a booth as a party of 2, the other time we got a booth with pushback because there were 4 of us. However, there were other parties of 2 in booths and plenty more empty booths. Secondly, with only 2 or 3 other parties in the entire place they still make sure to take their time before coming to take any drink orders and another 20 minutes to order food. I usually wouldn't write a review if it was a one time occurrence but this has happened every time we have gone. We will not be back because we don't feel welcomed. I was really impressed with how she and the staff took care of the restaurant with another parties kids running around creating chaos. Parents really need to control their children.
