They even guide you into a space which was great! What's awesome is they have a cute little room for the next steps info sessions if you're hoping to find out more about the church. They also sell apparel here which is great! I browsed through some of it and loved some of the cups and such. The lobby is open with high ceilings. There's a really cool map of Columbus on one of the walls right when you walk in. We got greeted at the doors with big smiles! Loved it! Everyone seemed really excited! When you've got good greeters, it really makes a difference. The sanctuary is open as well. It makes the space feel ten times larger. When my friends and I came to the 11am service on Sunday, it was already packed inside! A girl led us to some seats since it was dark in there. We got to sit up in the balcony. We had a great view of the whole space! The seats are very comfortable and big enough to share with someone. We ended up sharing seats up there since the lady next to us needed a few more. No problem! I had ample room and she let me sit partly on her seat as well. For some reason, I keep thinking this church is trying to appeal to the younger generation. But it's for everyone. They had a singer on stage who was a little older who I had never seen before. Seeing him made me realize that this church is for all ages. Needed to see that. Only thing to plan for is getting here early. The building is located right off a roundabout which can add a little bit of time depending on which direction you're coming from. Anyway, love it! This is the type of church that their is something for the whole family. They do 2 services on Sunday one at 9 am and the other at 10:45 am. This church does a wonderful job with youth. Between the worship music, the sermons, the friendly staff and volunteers, the bookstore, and the many opportunities to volunteer, I immediately felt 'at home.' I've gotten involved a little, here and there, and have enjoyed volunteering. This church has so much to offer, in so many ways. I have been attending services at St. Joseph Cathedral for years and years…read more I first became acquainted with the Cathedral while working as an assistant to a very famous man downtown. On an almost daily basis, he made a habit of attending the noontime masses during the week. I would walk with him, and, wishing to give him some space during the service, and also because I am not Catholic, I would sit some distance away. I became very comfortable with my visits to the Cathedral, and the messages delivered with those I found to be quite meaningful. I made known from time to time that I was Baptist, but this didn't seem to matter, and I was always welcomed at each visit. Saint Joseph and the community there are as much a home church to me now all these years later as my "normal" home Baptist Church. I feel welcome and enjoy the services and music immensely. There are special services for major holidays and days of obligation. The mass on Christmas Eve is wonderful and I certainly recommend attending church on that day. Parking can be found to the rear of the cathedral and in several flat lots and garages nearby, as well as on the street. During Christmas season, beginning prior to Thanksgiving, a large full-size nativity display can be found outdoors. This is the same display that for years was in place during the holiday. Season at the State Auto Insurance Headquarters further down Broad Street. The mass schedule can be found online at the cathedral website address. If you were looking for a quiet respectful place that is welcoming to all people of faith, as well as those who want to learn more and perhaps make a decision toward Christianity, Saint Joseph Cathedral is an excellent place to start.

Having a background in art history I was absolutely thrilled to find the place open.
