I can't speak for other therapists at Cornerstone, but Dr. Schramka's approach is unprofessional and for the lack of a better term, lazy. Sessions were unorganized and I would have hoped for better and more consistent communication. Concerns and topics raised as talking points went completely ignored and unaddressed repeatedly. Billing errors occur understandably, but I was shocked in a communication from her where I was accused of "arguing" due to billing errors on Cornerstone's part. I was then accused in a condescending way that I was "quibbling" when I sent a polite inquiry. Do your research, perhaps look elsewhere. I would imagine professionalism, empathy and respect should ALWAYS be a key aspect of this profession. Coming away thinking more harm was done than good. read more

As with any large mental health group you will find doctors/therapists that you click with and some that you don't. I have seen 2 of their psychiatrists and I hope Dr. Lowenbraun never moves or retires because I will be lost trying to replace her. I have seen at least a dozen therapists in my life and Dr Figgatt is by far, the best. The staff is helpful and kind and the office is easy to get to and just a block from Einstein Bros so it's a snap to stop for a bagel when your appt. is done. read more

Before the coronavirus hit I had no complaints about Cornerstone other then they didn't disclose to me that my therapist was an intern. However, I really liked him and told him in the beginning that I was in counseling before but, due to the therapist lack of concern, I stopped attending. Once the coronavirus put everyone on lockdown I texted him that I won't be able to come in for a while since my children were out of school and their childcare had closed. I never received a response. I found out that they were using telehealth to still conduct therapy sessions after I called to see if they had reopened. I decided to change therapist within the same company, since mine never reached out to let me know this was an option. The day of my first appointment I was having issues logging on with the browser I was using and had to download the recommended browser so it took about 10-15 min to actually log on. I emailed my new therapist to let her know the issues I was having, along with pics, but that I had logged on. I received a email stating that I wouldn't be able to receive services because I missed my 1st appointment. She also indicated that she tried calling and left a voicemail. When I tell you this was all a lie and no truth in it at all. I provided telephone records that I never received a call or vm and stated this was not my first appointment with cornerstone but I was switching therapist. She responded by providing me another therapist who "maybe" accepting new clients. Lol I almost died. I politely decline the referral for lack of care and concern. I'm not saying all of them are like this but.....just be careful who you pick for your mental health. It's way more important than being put through lies and unethical standards. read more

After 2 different psychotherapists and a psychiatrist I would have to say 3 different doctors and 3 different strike outs. The only people that I dealt with that kind of new what they were doing were the people sitting behind the service desks. The psychiatrist I was given was like 104 years old and the only thing that all three had in common was. How will you be paying for this today???? This was a total waste of my money and time. This place in my opinion is only out for money and could really care less about anything but the $$$$$$. There are so many places with really good and caring doctors so please don't waste your time and money here! read more

I have been going to Cornerstone Counseling for many years. I have had excellent Christian advise, as well as, wonderful skills I have learned from the counselor that I had. Horrible experience with billing error. Was told I did not have to return for a follow up appointment assuming things went well with PCP. Everything did and info was faxed over. Still was charged as a no show even though the Dr. herself told me I did not have to come. Beyond disappointed and frustrated still fighting the no show fee. DO NOT GO HERE, from reading other reviews looks like they are out to get your money at all cost with no concern over your mental health. read more

I had an appointment on 2/7/17. I was a half hour late and they dropped me as a patient. I explained to the office manager that I had a family emergency ( had to take my daughter to urgent care). She said it was company policy to drop patients that are late. I asked them if they could charge me for the office visit and please reschedule. The said the doctor (Dr. Anderle) said no, that she refuses to see me. Company policy is to drop late patients that have mental health issues? Isn't that defeating the mission? What a complete mess! I'm trying to be as fair as possible with this review and take emotion out of it. If someone is trying to see a counselor you would think they are having some issues and should be seen in a timely fashion. I called to set up appt with Dr Robin Coleman...2 month wait....longer than I wanted but decided to take it. Dr Coleman must have had a emergency (giving her the benefit of the doubt) and canceled. I was told they called...they never called me and since I set up the appt and gave them my contact info you'd think they would reach out. Found out Dr Coleman was not going to be there the day of appt. I called and they said Sept would be the next opening...Are you kidding me...another 2 months! Waiting to hear back from president of the board...I'm interested in her input. At this point I would suggest anywhere BUT cornerstone. Ill be sending them a bill for the time I had to take off of work since I have a 24 hr notice policy similar to theirs. read more

I saw Dr. Anderle for my second appointmment for psychiatric care. I told her about my optimism for treatment, about how I was looking forward to getting the care I needed and working with her. However, I told her something in confidence, one negative health concern I had, and she told me verbatim that I was "too unstable to treat." She told me she could not see me anymore. She then said that I needed to go to more intensive treatment, and would not prescribe me the medication that I've been taking for many months (medication which can cause withdrawals and seizures if stopped abruptly). To abruptly stop refilling one's medication is putting the patient in danger of withdrawal among other negative side effects; shame on her for proliferating the idea that someone can be "too sick" and making one feel ashamed when she should be congratulating for progress and honesty. This woman told me I needed someone to drive me to the hospital if I wanted medication, not even giving me a refill for a few days until I could find another provider. A good psychiatrist doesn't see a mental hospital as a "solution" to anything, let alone a substitute for medication, and doesn't ultimatum an adult into making a decision where they would have to give up legal rights. Dr. Anderle is an extremely cold person who essentially is forcing me into something I do not feel is necessary to receive medication to keep me going. How can one open up about their issues if a psychiatrist's first response isn't to try another treatment, but to kick someone out of their office after less than 20 minutes, while still crying in frustration and anger? Coercing a patient to be hospitalized instead of providing them with more resources, options, etc. is unprofessional. Overall, I left my appointment terrified for my future, my mental state, and what options I have left. Horrible person. Do not recommend. read more
