I have been trying to have electronic access restored for the past five days so that I may review my monthly statement. The first time I called, I was told that I would receive a form via email and that upon returning the form, I would regain access within 24 hours. After not having received the form, I telephoned the next day and subsequently received and returned the form. I called the following day (day 3) after still not being able to access their system and I was told that my form had been received, had been processed and it would take 24 hours for the system to update. The following day (day 4), after still not regaining access, I was told that the technician responsible for loading my information was sidetracked and hadn't completed the job, but that he would do so and that I would regain access later that day. They did call me, later in the day to indicate that the job had been completed and that I should have access. When I tried, the login failed. Upon calling back I was told that I would regain access within 24 hours, once the system was refreshed. I complained and was reassured that they would rush my case and that I would get a call back later in the day. It's 9pm and I am still waiting...My advise is to avoid this institution at all costs. I get the impression that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and they are not set up effectively handle simple customer requests. In my opinion, you are better off banking just about anywhere else other than Wells Fargo DISAdvantage Funds.

Thumbs up for Trevor Brooks, Senior BOA banker at the Cabot St., Beverly office. Trevor provided…read morethat much needed customer support and hand holding while I was stressed from the BOA Legal department which in my opinion improperly and perhaps illegally (unauthorized) froze one of my (17 yr old) checking accounts mid-July which was used to auto pay. The aforementioned account was an ordinary checking account, not a conservatorship account. I take copious notes, constructed a detailed documented timeline of this four week issue and was prepared to escalate the problem resolution as far as necessary. Although legal provided nothing in writing, my understanding is they wanted me to ask the court to change one word of the court Co-Conservator document from "And"to "or". Had not realized the account was frozen until notified of check which bounced and rejected auto pay both resulted in $$ penalties, one waived but the other cost me $100 (not happy). Only after Trevor escalated situation to his management, and I threatened to complain and escalate to both BOA management as well as four other avenues of escalation did the problem get resolved last Friday. Trevor called me late Friday and was even willing to keep the office open later if necessary in order that the account got closed and funds transferred. If not for Trevor, I would have transferred my four accounts (1 Trust, 1 Conservatorship, 2 ordinary checking) plus multiple CDs to Chase. As far as I'm concerned BOA owes me $100 and BOA Legal owes me an apology for all the unnecessary stress. Thank you again, Trevor.

I was a Beverly Bank customer for decades and had nothing but good things to say about them (minus…read morethe really horrible user interface on their ATMs). Since they've been bought out by North Shore Bank, I've had a series of issues. The first was with my name, because when I opened my account back in the 1990s, I used the name I go by, not the one on my birth certificate. The next was with the software that links to my account to download transactions, which just stopped working over the summer. And now, the straw that broke the camel's back is that I keep getting locked out of my online accounts because they have poor "security" measures that mean any random person or automated attempt to log in can lock you out of your account if they don't fill in your security questions correctly. The ONLY way to unlock it is to contact customer service (instead of having some sort of reasonable backoff timeout that temporarily locks the account). They tell me that there's no way to turn this feature off, no way to whitelist certain institutions, etc. They just suggested that I stop using programs that do this (they mentioned Venmo as a common culprit, even though that's not my specific problem). This makes my account unusable.

I opened my checking/savings bank accounts here roughly 10 years ago. I've had nothing but issues…read morewith them. I've had MANY issues with overdraft fees--Charging hundreds of dollars in fees and being told there not much they can do about it--providing no options until complaints were made. Every branch offers a different level of customer service/satisfaction/expertise. They have a $1,000 maximum cap on transactions being made. I've gone out of state/country for vacations and have made local purchases for furniture, vehicle down payments etc. and had been declined because of said cap. I was told by several employees/managers that this is "their policy" and there was nothing they could do to permanently lift the cap. They only way I could get these purchases to go through was by calling them during normal business hours, having them wait on hold so they could lift the hold while the purchase was being made, then immediately reissuing the cap on my limits after hanging up our call...which I had to do on several occasions. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! They have a 10 transaction limit on purchases within a 24 hour period--again, this is a joke! So if you're like me and make several purchases on errand shopping, getting drinks/appetizers, etc. on a weekend--start counting your swipes! or you'll be embarrassed at the grocery store like I have with the "Sorry your card has been declined" pitiful walk off shame out of the store. I have many friends/family members that have had the exact same issues and have closed there accounts as a result. Needless to say, I made the same move and closed my accounts. What a massive headache over the years!--shame on me for sticking around so long. Bank here at the risk of your own hard earned money being slowly flushed down he drain.
