He performed a bunionectomy on my big toe; left foot In February 2021, But I have been seeing him to the present day for my right foot to evaluate if we need to go in the same direction for the big toe on that foot. He told me that as long as it's not causing me any pain that I could have the procedure done whenever I feel comfortable doing so. This is the kind of doctor that I would highly recommend to anyone, as he is not in the business to just be cutting on people because that's where the money is at.. He is the kind of doctor that truly cares about his patience more than fattening up his bank account!!! Again, I highly recommend Dr. John Ellis! Thanks Dr. John.. Took 2 months to get the billing straightened out and only when the insurance company got involved. Tried to bill us for a $275 boot that we never received. Claimed they couldn't figure out how to get our copay into the system because it was "so high." The billing issues were simple basic math but they insisted that our account was correct. Billing dept. conveniently never had access to our records when I called and said they would call back the following day. Never did. After 3 appts., they actually owed us money (as I tried to explain on the phone.) It's now been 2 weeks and still no refund.

I have really flat, wide feet that just hurts so much after walking a bit or standing for a while. The office is right by a hair salon and a nice diner (with awesome cake), parking on the back-. The office looks small in the front but it's really long, so you'd be surprised. It was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The doctor was really attentive to all my concerns and was willing to help me and seemed to truly care about my well-being. Dr. Portnow was able to fit me into some awesome orthotics that were molded so it was customized to my arch, and I must say, it's working really well. I'd totally go to Dr. Portnow again if I have other concerns with my feet. :) (They also seem to have another location at Shaker hts.)
