On this visit, I ordered the bacon, sausage, and cheese omelette with a side salad, and I was genuinely blown away by how flavorful and fully stuffed it was. The waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and quick. The food and drinks came out fast, and she even boxed my leftovers right away. Food was mediocre, service was even worse. We sat outside and waited for our waiter for 15-20 minutes. One person in our party was late but we were ready to order drinks and at least an appetizer. When he didn't come out, the manager came out and said "we can't hold this table for you... can you at least order something?" We proceeded to tell him we were waiting to do just that. The menu items all looked amazing and pretty reasonable considering I'm a diner guy on Sunday mornings and the prices were similar. So I see on the menu a Poutine breakfast bowl, let me tell you from someone who loves Poutine's this was a no brainer. Instead of fries they use cut potatoes or home fries styled and two eggs any way you like in that amazing gravy. Ridiculous! It's a small dining area but cute, makes you feel like you're in Soho. First & formost as far a even a taint of racism there is something else going on in these comments. I have no idea what actully happened but as a resident of Amityville for most of my life this is the ONLY resturant in the downtown area where you will often find more POC eating than wyts! The owner is an Amityville native married to a Peruvian who has become an American citizen in last year or so. As a couple I have watched them, since they opened their resturant, welcome each & every customer w'smiles and warmth! It is a small resturant & they have set some 'work arounds' to keep things running smoothly so prehaps someone misunderstood a request but that is was racially based is impossible. Food is always on point & served hot w'generous portions. I am vegan & there is ALWAYS a vegan tofu scramble w'an asortment of vegs & the BEST hash browns you have ever had, vegan or otherwise! Many vegan specials have filled their menu over the years & I have had them all & felt blessed they were around! As noted on previous reviews my husband is a man of simple tastes, 2 up, w'bacon & white toast is his standard order for B'fast ALWAYS! Here is the place he can absolutly count on "2 up" cooked perfectly every time along w'some quality bacon. Wanted to check this place out since it's fall and Halloween is right around the corner. We were welcomed by our server Paul who told us we can sit anywhere. It's a tiny place but well decorated. The two servers (Gigi+ Paul) displayed the specials on a chair which was on a board. I ordered the apple cider mimosa, it was served in a skull glass. You will not regret ordering it! It's everything fall and Halloween is in one glass with a sugar cinnamon rim. For our meals I ordered the San Fran with brown bread which was really good. Wife and I decided to drop by my nephew and his wonderful family in Long Island for the weekend. We woke up early on a drab and cold Sunday morning, we got hungry, looked up a place to eat breakfast here in Yelp and decided to pay Cornucopia Noshery Inc a visit. It was THE BEST decision we made! Even though Kevin (our server) wore a mask, I can right away noticed he greeted us with a warm smile, he was very amiable, jovial, funny and knowledgeable about the menu/specials. Nick and Erica are very nice as well. Amazing crew! My wife ordered The Red Flannel Hash and I went for the Brisket Hash (recommended by Kevin). OH WOW! Kudos to the Chef! The portions are huge! These dishes are immersed in such savory flavors as to make my taste buds dance with delight! My Brisket was so tender and juicy, my wife's meal was so tasty! On our way to the pumpkin patch, my sister spotted the Amityville sign. We had to make a detour in to town. It could not have been a better start to our day than stopping by the Cornucopia Noshery Inc.. There is outside seating and it was already packed. You could tell it's the town hot spot for brunch. The tables would not stay empty for long as tables wrapped up their bills. There is a lot of two tops but we managed to snag a table for the three of us quickly. Right away I loved all the Halloween décor. It's my absolute favorite time of the year. They went all out that there was even a werewolf by the counter. The specials board was brought over to us but we were too late for the Campfire S'mores French Toast. I was drawn in by the "Frogs in Holes" which is, two eggs cooked in French Toast and a side of potatoes. My nephew thought the "Fat Bastrad" and the "Skinny Bitch" were hilarious. My sister and he ended up splitting the "Fat Bastard" since it was a ton of food. He said it was his "best eggs in 2020" and the pancakes were super "fluffy". He was in brunch heaven! My sister loved the super thick bacon that came with the meal. And she also couldn't stop raving about the sweet potatoes mixed with the regular potatoes. I enjoyed the salty, sweet balance of the meal. I ordered an oat latte to go with my meal. My sister ordered a black coffee that was forgotten and we had to reorder. There is unlimited refills, so I would make sure to get that coffee order in. It was super busy as I mentioned. I would also mention, you want like 5 packets of ketchup, maple syrup and hot sauce when ordering. You are outside and things will get cold, so super important to get everything in on that order. There are gluten free, veggie and vegan options. This made me very happy since I have more and more vegan and gluten free friends to consider when traveling. Once we put in our order my sister and my nephew went for a walk. The neighboring tables started chatting with me about Halloween and there outside front lawn décor. I guess I was giving off the Halloween vibes to all around me. The funny thing is, Halloween is one of the few times a year I wear what I want and people think it's because of Halloween. The table eventually gave us there candy that comes with the bill. When we got our bill, it came in an old dvd horror case and was filled with three candy packets of the good stuff. So I want to tell everyone about this place, but at the same time I want to keep it a secret just for me. The food is amazing, each and every time. We try to get brunch at Cornucopia once a month. It's about half an hour from where we live but it's worth the drive. I love savory - omelettes, scrambles etc. he loves sweet - pancakes, waffles etc. we always find something for us. On top of a small but solid menu they have a chalkboard with weekly specials. Those are funky and inventive and different. Last time he had the marzipan and Apple French toast. It was very good but could have used some more apples. My red flannel hash is my favorite. So so good. Beets, potato and sweet potato hash with some runny eggs on top are just perfect. The coffee is good and strong. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a small place - maybe 10 tables - so it's always busy. The decor is funky and colorful. Lots of local art on the walls, New Orleans flair, skull tablecloths create a fun ambiance. They take cash only so come prepared. There are some banks down the street if you don't have cash. They are open for breakfast/lunch only with exception of special occasion dinners. Definitely a great breakfast that will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day. read more

I've visited New York MANY, MANY times, especially since my daughter moved there 13 years ago, and NEVER have I been subjected to the brash, harsh, nasty demeanor of the stereotypic bad rap of being called "a typical New Yorker." I had to travel to Amityville, NY to find the stereotypic "New Yorker," and I do NOT say this with pleasure. The woman who waited on us at this eatery, I don't know, maybe she had a bad day, maybe she had some customers BEFORE us that pissed her off. All's I know is that when she waited on us, she was brash, harsh, and simply put, NOT NICE. She was the only one waiting tables (not that many to begin with, a very small place), so I don't know if it was the owner who waited on us or what. IF we did get the owner, then shame on her. We did nothing to incur her wrath, yet we got it. I am not one to usually go on about the service, but when it's really bad, I will (and thus, the reason for only 2 stars). I would probably have awarded 3.5 - 4 stars for the food, but with that service, they're lucky I didn't give only 1 star total.) It was a weekday breakfast, the tables were mostly full, and there were 5 of us in our party. I wanted to ask her a question about the Yelp coupon, and that's when it started. She told me NO, very abruptly at that. She didn't want to address it then and told me to wait. It was the nasty tone and harshness, again, the New York stereotype, it just put me off in a way that I never experienced. I wasn't mean, so why was she? She absolutely refused to talk about my very simple Yelp coupon question. (As an aside and to clarify, the waitress honored the coupon, but my issue wasn't with that... it was just her harshness and unwillingness to let me ask a simple question.) Okay, fine, so I tried to move on. Did I piss her off that I am part of the Yelp world? Who knows. She walked off for reasons I don't know, then eventually returned to take our order after we waited a fair amount of time. The problem was that she continued to be very abrupt. Nobody asked for anything out of the ordinary, so why she was annoyed, I'll never understand. As we waited a long time, a couple came to sit down beside us, had their order taken rather quickly, and they had TWO ROUNDS of food delivered BEFORE WE GOT OUR ONE round of food. In other words, they ordered cereal and fruit, got and ate that, but then, they got their egg dishes, very similar or the same as what we ordered, before we got ours. We were there first, ordered before them, although not much before, but they got their food first. NOW, I'm pissed....... but still, I didn't let the waitress know because she was already bitchy to us, and I sure as heck didn't want to hear from her with her level of nasty. Our food finally came out. It tasted decent enough, and it was filling....... but the meal was ruined by her and her attitude. I don't know what she didn't like about us, but she clearly had some vendetta against us. Maybe she hates anyone who sits at that particular table. I clearly don't know, but I can assure you, we won't be back. There are plenty of other restaurants we can go to. Was simply acting like a tourist in my (relatively new) town, and came upon this cafe. Loved the funky vibe inside (drinking from skull-shaped glasses!), and the waitress was so sweet and attentive! I got the veggie goat cheese sandwich, which was SO GOOD, along with a salad. I was tempted to have some gelato, but restrained myself. The check arrived in a Napoleon Dynamite DVD case (because what else are they going to be used for anymore?!).
