There are two Cortes very close to each other- the smaller one has cooler gourmet items (and the gourmet "experience") which is great- I can find things like Kusmi tea there, and really special items. The other store has a huge selection- but less top-of-the-line merchandise. So it's great to have two so close together. The book store is also pretty amazing, and there are a lot of other departments I've never shopped in- though I love the Longchamp bags which are very reasonable.

Excellent clothes shopping. The cafeteria is very good especially for something light. Headquartered in Madrid, it is the biggest department store group in Europe and ranks fourth worldwide. El Corte Inglés is Spain's only remaining department store chain. This is a place we stop on in every visit. It has a very comfortable feel. I purchased a few suits and our salesperson Antonio saw that alterations were finished by the next day.
