You know those cafes where simply by stopping in--for a few hours or just to grab a coffee and muffin--your day is going to be a little better? That's Corvus! It's a whole vibe. That easy, perfect in every way, and we weren't even trying thing that only Californians can pull off! And, oh boy! The coffee cake is hands down the best gluten-free baked good I've ever had!! It was so fluffy and spongy, and creamy and cinnamony, and just-right sweet. I honestly don't think anyone would know it's gluten free. They have quiche, hand pies, bread pudding, and all sorts of items I never see in gf shops. The baristas are friendly and engaged, and the owner was happy to chat with me about her baking secrets. I ordered for take out, and instantly changed my mind. It's the kind of place I like to be. It's a gem! I hope any expansion plans start with Denver

What a cute little coffee cafe on Mills Street in beautiful Grass Valley, Ca. On the weekends park at Wells Fargo AFTER they close for the day. Maple latte was killer and so was their carrot cake muffin with cream cheese frosting. The cake was very nutty, raisins, carrots and coconut.

I stopped by Corvus Bakery and was so glad I did! The donuts were incredible -- soft, flavorful, and clearly made fresh that morning. I also tried one of their vegetable pies, which was surprisingly delicious and perfectly seasoned. Everything tasted homemade in the best way. The staff was friendly, patient, and welcoming, which made the whole visit feel extra nice. You can tell they really care about their customers and their craft. This is the kind of local spot that makes you want to come back every weekend.

This was my first visit to Corvus Bakery and I will definitely give it another try. The big plus is that they are, in fact, an entirely gluten-free bakery, which is rare. The staff was very friendly and doing their best to keep up on a busy Sunday afternoon. They seemed low on pastry and I heard them say they were also low on some supplies, although I was not affected. I ordered (to takeaway) a blueberry muffin and a chocolate raspberry cupcake to sample pastry styles. The cupcake was a disappointment, with tasty chocolate frosting and raspberry filling, but cake that was fairly flavorless and a bit dry. The muffin, happily, was just the opposite, moist, full of blueberries and not overly sweet. I will be back!

Great little coffee& bakery! Passed by the little gem while discovering the area and stumbled into this shop. The all gluten free sign made us walk in and try their treats. We did not try the coffees but did try the Maple donut that's was just fantastic and cinnamon roll, banana muffin and carrot muffins. Everything was great and we loved the cozy look and feel of the place. We shall return to try more delicious gluten free treats!

Yummy cookies!! [Grass Valley CA] I'm hitting this place up the next time I'm back in the Gold Country. I'm a sucker for bakeries and when I saw this shop located across the Del Oro Theatre I immediately checked it out. Cute interior with indoor and outdoor available seating. I walked in around 3:00p, 1.5 hrs before they closed at 4:30p. Selection was sparse especially on their cakes. I really wanted to try their carrot cake and the cinnamon roll. So I went over to the cookies and pastry side of the counter. I chose two cookies, Chocolate Crinkle and Peanut Butter. I ate the chocolate cookie first... it was soft and warm and heavenly. I'm in love with this cookie. Their baked goods are 100% gluten free! They offer daily selection of baked goods, drink menu and lunch options. Service is friendly. Review #3193

Gluten Free was an issue and owner complained a bit, saying call ahead for GF pasta. The GF pasta was several clumpy messes in an Alfredo sauce. Gnocchi with Alfredo was horrible. Gnocchi was gummy, not fresh. The Alfredo sauce tasted like Classico from a jar. So, so terrible. Furthermore, ice cubes in your water were not an option. Asked for ice cubes, his son said he could give a little. He brought 1/2 glass...we shared it among the two of us. No ice cubes. Perhaps, my expectations are to high; but, always thought Ice water is a restaurant staple. Dessert refrigerator was empty. No fresh italian dessert. Baklava was in the case. The other issue, if he has no business he closes earlier and doesn't stay around. Wanted pizza one night, drove there from Penn Valley an hour before closing and coincidentally the owner was driving out. He stopped his car, asked what I wanted, I said "Pizza". He said sorry no business closed early. i said oh and went to Pete's Pizza had a nice pizza and drove home. Finally, in my opinion, it's not fresh Italian. It's from a jar, packaged and frozen products put together slabbed on a plate and called Italian. The owner commuted pizza was easier, pull dough from freezer, put sauce, toppings and bake. Italian food needs Italian bread, breadsticks...not pita bread. Unfortunately, very terrible food and experience. Hope many others enjoy the food and experience. Local won't be coming back. God bless the previous owners, good and hard work.

We run a mobile coffee business, so seeing some of the reviews that said they were "disappointed" that they couldn't get a large cappuccino or that macchiato would be a small drink is frustrating. Starbucks has ruined the coffee experience for majority of people. Espresso drinks are made with specific ratios of milk to espresso so making something a "large" that's designed to be a 6 ounce drink, doesn't work unless you want to pay extra for extra shots. I wish people knew what they were ordering before giving a coffee house a 4/5 starts. *Sigh*. We got a brown honey/hazelnut latte and brown sugar cardamom latte. We make all our own syrups for our coffee trailer so we're bougie. I like the sweetness of the honey/hazelnut but couldn't really taste the hazelnut. The cardamom latte had an interesting savory component that I wasn't a super fan of, but overall, good coffee!

They were very busy, given the holiday weekend so it took almost 15 minutes by the way. When they finally called the drinks out, they had only made mine a dirty chai, so they had to add espresso to hers. Fine. I was excited to drink it but both my friend and I took a sip and made the same exact disgusted face. There was nothing redeeming about the drink, and it tasted like chalk. The stars for this place were for the scone, which was delicious. That said, the chai was awful and I wouldn't recommend.
