I'm going to start this review by celebrating the fact that I've FINALLY found a barber shop that I want to come back to. I don't live in the area, and I was having the worst time finding a barber shop that can deliver on exactly what I want. The shop is clean and well decorated, the staff is friendly, you can book an appointment online, and they have a lot to offer outside of your basic cut and beard (i.e. refreshments, hot towel shave, hand massage, hair wash, etc.) Anthony effectively fixed an entire years worth of botched haircuts, and I left looking and feeling like a new man..I haven't left a barbershop feeling that way very recently. I've been a client at Cory Mathews for a few years now and was very excited to hear that they opened a second location in Westfield. They did an outstanding job with the place. You get great customer service as soon as you walk in and if you have an appointment you will be seated right away. My barber Is Anthony, who is great at his craft and very knowledgeable. I don't trust many barbers when it comes to scissors cuts but Anthony has earned my trust. I highly recommend you visit Cory Mathews if you are in the area or if you are in need of a new barber. The barbershop is located right across from the train station which makes it convenient for me since I work in the city. I have been a customer of Anthony's before Cory Matthews. Anthony is now part owner of the new Westfield location and is a passionate and meticulous professional. There is street parking and you can park in the transit lot across the street for free I think after 9a. You can make your appointment on line which I prefer and they are very good about running on time. They do accept walk ins. The shop is brand new and has plenty of comfortable chairs / couches to sit if you arrive early. Marsella greets you when you arrive, offers you a drink, pre wash, and also handles the hand massage / hot towel that comes with every haircut. The haircut is always on point and never rushed. Went back this time to get my 1st hair cut at the Westfield location and have my beard shaped into a Goatee from Owner Anthony to the receptionist to my barber Heather the experience was great! It was the first time I'd had a cut there and Heather did a great job with my challenging hair. She also took my coarse beard and skillfully sculpted it into a goatee. Cory Mathews was a great experience for me. I was in serious need of a beard trim and shape-up when a colleague of mine recommended this barber shop to me. There is a very chill vibe to the shop and the staff is highly skilled and professional. My barber, Roger, did not disappoint, he is extremely talented and good conversation which made my experience all that much more enjoyable. Love the new barbershop. I am from Jersey City, NJ and drive all the way to Westfield just for Anthony, one of the best barbers i ever went too. Took his time, seen some of the New York Jets players in there waiting too, which they were very polite and nice too. All the barbers there are extremely nice and the front desk woman was very nice and helpful. Took my 7yo to see Corey at Corey Matthews after he outgrew the kiddie haircut places. Corey does a great job giving him a sensible but still good looking cut. It was so good that my husband (a previous devotee of Great Clips type places) started going to Corey too. Not only for a great and stylish cut but also a perfect beard trim.
