A highlight was the the food in the restaurant, Maialetto Do, and especially the Portuguese Bairrada-style suckling pig which a must-do if you like pork. Another highlight is watching the sunset at Esplanada Gaúcha, which is their terrace attached to the restaurant. No need to book the harmonized sunset package, as it's just wines and charcuterie - just order a la carte and enjoy the views! Finally, if you can, book a room facing the front which has the best views. We ended up splurging for the Royal Suite which was fabulous and recently renovated.

The tour…read morebegins with loading and some introduction, and then shortly there are musicians and entertainment to enjoy along the ride. The first stop you enjoy some sparking wine, and the tour continues. At the end of the tour you stop at a presentation. Grape juice for children and underage still allows them to engage in the fun of the tour! The presentation that concludes the tour, is very unique! You learn about the journey of the first immigrants to Porte alegre from Italy. And "follow" them along the journey. It was very informative, and special. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would return.
