The Mullichain Cafe is actually a lovely addition to St. Mullins. It's quaint and quiet, not brash. The cafe is on the ground floor of one of the converted grainhouses and the developers have managed to keep the integrity of the old building. It's not modern, it doesn't look out of place. Even when busy, there's still a small village feel. There's plenty of seating inside and park benches outside, dotting the banks of the Barrow - no better place to enjoy a panini! And speaking of paninis...they have a decent selection of fillings and all the standard options. I had a very tasty parma ham and cheese panini, came with a small tomato and rocket salad on the side. They also offer really lovely strong coffee and a few soups. You won't get a three course meal here, it's not a full restaurant, but what is on offer is good food in a great setting.
