Located in the Boca neighborhood, this football stadium is home to the legendary team Boca Juniors…read more The stadium is also known as La Bombonera because it resembles a chocolate box. Even if you do not attend a game here, I recommend doing the tour if you're a football fan. They have two options. A visit to just the museum for tourists is about 15 US dollars. The price is a little cheaper for local residents. The museum is full of memorabilia from the team's history like trophies, jerseys and photos. You will learn about the history of the team as well the surrounding neighborhood. The second option is the museum plus a stadium tour. With this, a tour guide will take you around the stadium and give you a bit more history about the team. I'd recommend this option which is about 25 US dollars. These tours are very popular and the line to get in can get long, so I suggest getting there early in the day.

The excitement and energy of seeing a CABJ Football match live was like nothing else... a must if…read moreyou're visiting Buenos Aires. Look at my videos and photos; the experience was spectacular. Being part of the crowd was all-consuming and the Boca Juniors won the game during injury time. You couldn't hope for anything more! Now some notes on tourists visiting the stadium: Don't bring anything with you - no bags (including purses), no valuables, nothing except your phone. Dress down and dress comfortable - you'll probably stand the entire time so wear comfortable shoes. Everyone wears CABJ gear (Blue and Yellow) so don't wear River Plate colors (Red and White). There will be 4 security checkpoints when you enter. You will present your ID and your ticket to scan. They will pat you down and you can't have anything in your pockets - this is where having a bag with you would make things complex. Getting to the entrance is a bit of a labyrinth so follow the crowd or, better yet, go with a tour. A tour will allow you to enjoy the experience and not try to figure it out as you go along. This will also alleviate any issues with counterfeit tickets. The waiting list for a ticket is around 10-years as there are only season ticket holders so, not matter what, you're getting a scalped ticket. My ticket was 2900 Argentinian Pesos (about $13) but you will spend at least 10x that price on your scalped ticket, so buy it from a reputable place and I'd be wary of anyone trying to sell you the ticket for much less than 10x because it's probably too good to be true. There is zero alcohol sold in the stadium and the food looked pretty meh - some kind of meat in bread wrapped in aluminum foil - so eat before and drink before. The bathrooms are also a bit meh, but that's to be expected in any stadium. You're there for the excitement, not the food or the facilities. When you're there, the crowd is passionate and they'll want you to participate but you probably won't be able to because there are several different songs and chants, not just one to memorize. But it doesn't matter. Scream your loudest! Have fun! This was my favorite thing that we did in Buenos Aires!!

It seems to happen on Saturdays and Sundays, and is run by the city. There's some order to this- people seem to have assigned booths, that are rented to them by the City of Buenos Aires. There's a food court in the middle of the artist fair, along with street performers. As you meander through the artists' booths, it feels safe. I'd keep an eye out for pick pockets anyhow, but there was a healthy police presence and vendors don't want to see anything bad happen to all the visitors. The range in artwork is diverse! It's not like it's all the same stuff- it's all very unique, and it's the actual artists there showing off their stuff. Everything is negotiable. There's restrooms in the restaurants off the main street here. Feel free to have a bottle of malbec or a quillmes beer, ain't nobody stopping you! Why not?

Have a quilmes beer and a choripan in the street where you will see the old couple dancing tango. Appreciates lots of artisans selling their crafts. I'm not sure about the antiquities that are sold them, but some of them are interesting. Enjoy a little tango on the park, is free just til the dancer and remember a tango/milonga show can cost $$$$. You will spend almost an entire day here, therefore, be patient and enjoy!

I had never seen a traditional tango dance or performance so I was very eager to attend. Upon arrival, we were seated in the immaculate auditorium. The waitresses' took our meal and drink orders then shortly after, we were invited to attend the tango dance class. The tango class is not a one-on-one or structured tango class. Its a basic group gathering where two of the dancers show you a basic counted step then you partner up with someone and practice. The dancers also lend themselves to perfect the step with you. Honestly, the tango class was alright, not amazing. The instructors only spoke in Spanish, so it was a little confusing at times. Upon finishing the class, we went back to our seats and had dinner. Dinner was good. I started my meal with empanadas then continued on with a meal consisting of steak and fries, paired with chimichurri sauce. Both items were delicious and prepared well. I did not like my dessert, it was some sort of pudding/mouse, which didn't taste very great. The waitresses/staff did not provide the best service and I'm not sure if it was due to the language barrier or just bad service, but it wasn't great. For example - I had to ask for a refill on my drink at lest 3 times before I actually received it. Also, my steak wasn't prepared as I had requested, took forever for it to come back to me. The show is AMAZING but starts very late. If you have been traveling or fall asleep early, please keep this in mind. We went to the venue around 7pm. The show itself did not start until about 9pm and ran until about 11pm. I was exhausted after a traveling almost 16 hours and began to fall asleep by 10. All-in-all the show was beautiful, amazing, and so entertaining. The dancers were graceful, the music wonderful and authentic, and the singing was beautiful. We also got a chance to see the 2019 world tango champions perform - absolutely stunning! Overall, a great experience. If I could, I would give 4.5 stars for the show alone. The dinner is what really took away from the experience however, I would highly recommend attending. Its worth a visit!
