I have a love/hate relationship with Costco. There's always enough parking spaces. I'm able to park further out so I don't have anyone parked next to me. I'm thankful for the staples that Costco keeps on hand. I usually don't have a problem finding the staples. However, one month an item may be there, and the next month it might be gone. I don't enjoy searching for those items that are gone. One example, is the protein coffee drink by Joyburst. It was there for several months, and then it was gone. They like to shift their merchandise around, also making you hunt for your item. I do feel like I get a value shopping in bulk. I also purchase my coffee in bulk, and recently they moved their coffee grinders near the employee clock in. They also went from two grinders down to one. I like to shop late in the evening if possible when its less crowded. Today, we purchased several frozen berries, put them in a Costco freezer bag, and the lady checking receipts at the door opened up my bag and put her hands through it as she tried to count out the number of merchandise. Although Google says it's legal for them to search our bags (per our Costco agreement), I still find it offensive. read more

Thursday Oct 30th I called in 2 prescriptions on the pharmacy automated system. I got a text that 1 will be refilled and one needs Dr approval. I dont worry because my vet will fax Costco and it will be fine. Sunday Nov 2nd I get a text that 1 rx is ready. I call to inquire about the other and they were waiting for approval from the vet. Monday vet faxes Costco at 8:30 am. Costco stills says their waiting on the vet at 2pm. Tuesday no news. Wednesday Costco says they are waiting on approval from the vet Thursday at the vet they tell me AGAIN they have faxed the Costco pharmacy yet the pharmacy says no fax. The vet calls in. The pharmacy tech ADMITS THEIR FAXES ARE NOT WORKING RIGHT. I ran out of medication yesterday. Thursday Nov 5th I call the pharmacy and they say they are waiting for Dr approval. I say THE VET JUST SPOKE TO YOU HALF AN HOUR AGO. AM I GOING TO GET THIS MEDICATION TODAY? Embarrassed I caught them in a lie, they said yes. 2 hours later I call Costco Pharmacy to inquire if the medicine is ready. The answer is we see the vet approved it and it's slated for delivery to us tomorrow. You can pick it up then. My reply ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME? I WAS TOLD I COULD HAVE IT TODAY. Well if you were told you can pick it up today then you can pick it up today. Was the answer. WHEN TODAY? Give us half an hour. 45 minutes later they were still printing the label. So tell me. Costco Pharmacy, would you frequent a place where a simple blood pressure medicine available to dogs and people, could not be filled FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK? Let me tell you, the whopping three dollars I save isn't worth the aggravation. And instacart delivery only works 50% of the time. What the heck am I going to do with a gallon jar of green chile? I dunno it came home with me in the Sprinter van and I'll need to figure out what to cook with it. Yes, some local products. But also lots of the same things that I can purchase at my Costco in Charlotte. My Costco card works everywhere. Something is wrong with the kirkland eggs. I have bought a few packages over the past few months And I will no longer buy any more. I don't know Anything about the farming of eggs or chickens or feed. What I do know is the walls of these eggs are paper thin and they easily break in the packages and I have on many times had a break in my hand as i'm pulling it out of the package. Got tires today. Appointment at 10am. I didn't have the wheel lock key so I went to get it and returned about 11:30. After 1 and 1/2 I noticed my car had not been touched. I love this particular store. It's not nearly as busy as most of the Costco stores making it easier to get in and out of. The products at Costco are always top shelf. The pharmacy staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes there may be unhelpful employees. I had a negative experience on a couple occasions in self checkout, which is why I try to avoid self checkout, but otherwise I highly recommend this store. read more

Make sure you check your receipt and what is in your cart before you leave the store. They incorrectly charged me for four (4) frozen items that I did not purchase. I was only charged for one (1) case of green chili but had four (4) cases in my basket. The cashier had apparently mixed these up. Of course, the frozen items were more expensive. I had to drive back into Albuquerque to get this resolved. The manager was very nice and quickly made the correction and put the difference back onto my debit card. I have used Costco gas in many places across the country and at this particular place It was clean and well attended with staff a available to help you in no matter what type of situation you may need. Costco in general has very good covid-19 practices in all their staff were masked as well. The quality of the gas is excellent especially for the price point that they ask for and if you need to use premium gas it's a really good value. This Costco has what you usually expect from Costco - a wide assortment of quality products in bulk sizes for great prices. It also has generally friendly and helpful staff and a cheap but filling food court. It is also hellishly busy on weekends. The parking lot is a little tricky to navigate but once you're in the store, it's a little easier to relax and shop. Their clothing section seems to keep expanding but I wish their book section would stop getting smaller. It also seems like there are more and more guest vendors yelling at you to try their products or sell you some new service that you don't need. All in all, we'll always shop there. When I travel, the first thing I do after I get my rental car is go to a Costco. I love looking at great local finds at a Costco. At this Costco, I found a 1 gallon Vlasic Kosher Dill Pickle jar for just $4. These are the pickles that carnivals sells for $4 EACH. I also came across the Pinon Coffee Roadshow. I am addicted to coffee so of course I has to try it. I tried it and loved it. I bought two 1 lb. bags for just $12, I've seen this coffee selling at regular stores for $10 a bag. Then when I was leaving, I saw their Kirkland water vending machine for just $.25 a bottle. What a bargain!!! I bought 8 bottles to keep in my car and hotel. I love Costco!!! read more

I have become a real fan of Costco. I had been a prior Sam's Club member but found I never used it. Now that I am older and wiser, I appreciate the savings that comes with buying 50 rolls of toilet paper at a time. I always 'gulp' a little at the register when my total consistently comes to $300-$400, but the savings is apparent. In addition to great prices on bulk items, Costco is in the business of carrying and producing (through their own Kirkland brand) a lot of GREAT organic food choices. From organic Tortilla chips to organic milk. You CANNOT beat the prices. The items I have noticed save the MOST money are below: Similac Baby Formula (Powder) Avocados Baked goods (pies, bagels, cookies) BIG SAVINGS!!! Salad mixes Chips They always have people on the end caps giving out samples (which gets me EVERY time). I walked out once with a box of Hatch Chocolate Chip cookies. They were not for me. These cookies had green chili in them. I'll reserve my green chili for non baked goods please and thank you. They have great deals on clothing too. DKNY, Calvin Klein sweaters... good quality stuff. They have great household goods like cutlery and dishes. Electronics. Even office supplies. I probably come here once a weeks since I get the essentials here like milk and eggs too. But for people with smaller families and larger refrigerators, you could probably make a trip every three weeks or so. The return policy is great! If you are unsatisfied with something, just bring it back (even food) and they will give you a prompt refund with a smile. Lunch here can be great too, but not too often since it can add to your waste line. Cheap lunch... giant hotdogs, giant slices of pizza, giant churros. I love shopping at Costco, and this is the closest store to us. However the people who works here lacks manners. It would be nice if they are thought the importance of customer service and proper attitude towards their customers. I have numerous bad experience with those people serving the samples. And at one point the staff at the exit checking the groceries gave my 2 yr old son an attitude. I'm pretty tolerant to people not being nice or even being borderline racist, but that old lady serving the samples was the last straw for me. I wasn't even getting samples, i asked her about an item i was looking for. The lady would not even look at me. She was bluntly ignoring me. So this review is not about the store as a whole, I mean, come on! Everyone already knows what Costco is all about! They're about the ultimate impulse sale! I'm pretty confident there's not a soul on Earth who can get in & out of Costco and stick strictly to their shopping list. Yes, the food of the Gods, pizza! As every Costco shopper has indulged in one of their ginormous hot dogs post shopping, they might also grab a slice here and there, correct? And, not bad huh? But did you know that you can call ahead for a full pizza and swing on by hassle free to pick her up? Yup! Tis true, I swear! You don't even need to be a Costco member, did you know that? Yup! Just swing in through the exit, step right up to the Food Court window and pick up the pizza you just called in. In fact, you don't even need to pay with a credit card as you call it in, the Ol' Honor System is still applicable here. How cool is that? But please, don't tell your teenagers about that part as prank calls might ensue, not cool. Nevertheless, the pizzas are humongous, pretty good and cheap! We called in a Pep/Sausage with extra cheese, and also grabbed two churros and two sodas as we picked it up and only spent 14 bucks! Yes, you read that correctly, 14 US dollars! I normally wouldn't take the time to write a review on a corporate company--especially one that's open and doing their best to stay open during these tough times. However, I encountered something pretty unprofessional and uncomfortable when shopping today; it made my grandma and I feel really weird... and hopefully it doesn't happen again. A male manager or person of seniority was scolding one of the cashiers as (what it looked like) she was counting money. Everyone around us got really quiet because everyone heard the conversation. I may not work for a big company but I'm pretty sure making the customers feel uncomfortable IS NOT up to standard. It's official! After this visit I've been to all the Costco locations here in Albuquerque! I was on my way to the Icon Theater to meet up with my best friend to see the new breaking bad movie "El Camino". I finished running all my errands I needed to to before the movie and surprisingly had an hour to kill. I had read a news article on Wednesday evening while I was at work that the actor that plays Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad (The Brother In Law DEA agent) had actually released his own beer based off his Breaking Bad characters own home brew "Schraderbräu" officially and it was shipping to Costco locations here in New Mexico. Out of curiosity and excitement for the movie I found this location was conveniently on my way to the theater so I stopped by to see if they had it in stock already. I have to say I was impressed with the store front of this location. It's much nicer than the other two. At least that's what I thought anyway. Staff is as always friendly and very helpful. I looked around the alcohol section for the beer and unfortunately couldn't find it. I had asked the staff nearby about it and explained my huge fandom for Breaking Bad and they totally understood and were friendly and helpful in trying to get more information as to when to expect some in stock. Because of how new it is they didn't currently have it in stock but they told me to expect it in the next few weeks. I understood and was thankful they went the extra mile to find out for me. Costco is a great chain, and I invariably hunt down an accessible link in their chain in whatever city I find myself in. What do I mean by accessible? Over and above the actual location and how crazy the parking lot is, I've never been to a Costco that wasn't a complete cluster f**k on weekends. Avoid it then at all costs :-) On weekdays, if you can only come at lunchtime or right after work hours, be prepared for insane overcrowding, with people hovering over sample stations like vultures, and everyone moving so slowly that the whole place generally resembles a casting call for extras on "The Walking Dead" ;-) The crowds not withstanding, as long as you don't mind buying in bulk you'll often find great deals here on name brands. They even occasionally get some really good wines in at great prices. When that happens though, be sure to stock up on whatever you like. Often a particularly good wine deal completely sells out within a few days, and is replaced by another offering. What are you waiting for? Get on down to Costco and buy that quarter ton of toilet paper you know you've been needing! ;-) read more

One can only conclude that those who stay here have simply accepted, "that's the way things are," and have never been anyplace outside of the Southwest. That being said this is my farewell to COSTCO. They will never see another dime of my money; and let's be honest, they won't even notice. I go for gas and a couple scripts, and if I'm going inside I might as well grab something, right? Wrong. Once again not another soul in line and my single tub of Biscotti was too much for their pharmacy staff to ring up with my prescription. I love Costco! Obviously, it is a bulk store which means you can get more of your items at a lower price. If I had a bigger family, I could do ALL of my grocery shopping there but for now I keep it simple. Every day necessities like toilet paper, paper towel, milk, eggs, etc. Basically things that will be used up are my regular purchases there. I love that they have samples of different foods every day which allows you to try something before you buy it. Their gas prices are always great. I discovered that they will refill your printer ink cartridges for a fraction of the price of new ones. They also have an optometrist on sight which I am about to utilize so I'll write a review about that as well. read more

I would give them more stars if their choice of leadership was as good as their selection of meats but I had a terrible experience with their manager named "Mike". I can't wear a mask because of health reasons and this man forcibly grabbed my basket as I was shopping and told me to "put a mask on or leave" I told him I don't wear them and he became angry and grabbed my basket away from me and escorted me out of the building. They kept telling us 20 more minutes, when customers that placed their order after us continued to get their food. They blamed it on a big order, but if you have a big order at least alternate between that order and the people who have been waiting patiently the entire time. Costco is amazing. There's a wonderful selection. Produce is fresh. There are pre made dinners...just heat and serve. The cakes are the best ever! For birthdays, I highly recommend their sheet cakes. There are health food options, pet food, office supplies, jewelry and electronics. If you are looking for cheap eats, try their food court. Customer service can be a little uneven at this location sometimes. But the store is clean and the products are great. The only downside to Costco is the new change of credit card. This is a pretty standard Costco, so I won't belabor what it's all about - I'm sure you know. What makes this one different for me is that it feels surprisingly uncrowded, even during their busy time. They have more sampling stations than I have seen, which is cool. I've also been really happy with their alcohol selection - not so much their wine, because that's a little ruff, but their beer and liquor selection is good. And I love that they often carry local beer (Marble IPA - yum!!) and one or two Gruet sparkling wines. I come to this Costco more often than I have gone to others in the past, so they are doing it right, for sure! read more
