I stopped by this Costco gas station this morning to put in gas for my wife car. I came when they officially open so it was great to be the only car there. This Costco gas station has a decent amount of pump and also bright. I didn't have any issues when I came today. I pulled up, filled the car and then left. The organization of this gas station is unique and I prefer it over the typical layout. Despite it being busy, you're able to get in and out really quickly. They also tend to be a little bit cheaper than even the other Costco gas stations in the area. Today, there was a box of dog treats in the middle of the refueling area. This is basically my to-go gas station. Many people come here to fill up gas and lines tend to fill up quicker during peak hours. It's kinda like rush hour at a drive thru except in a gas station. Also, you'll need to be a Costco member in order to fill gas. Not only that the gas is cheaper compared to most gas stations, but it's also made to keep the engine much cleaner so your cars wouldn't have much problems in the future. read more

Costco gas is the most popular gas station in town. The price is always the best and it opens at 6 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday . It closes early at 7:30 pm on Sunday . The lines used to be very long like 10 cars and could be waiting for 20 minutes . Now there is a new Costco in the Newark area and this Costco gas has no lines or just 2 to 3 cars in line . Excellent! Now that there are two fairly close Costco gas stations, the wait is much better. Which is amazing! I'm used to Costco gas stations being a long wait. And also--I don't know why it took me so long to realize, but even if your gas tank is filled on the more common left side of the car, you can still fill your gas at the other stations usually with no line or shorter line since you can pull the nozzle out so much it can reach the other side of your car. So helpful! And of course you can't beat the monetary savings with Costco gas prices! read more

As I say with all of my Costco gas reviews: Its Costco and its gasoline. Even if you don't need 25 gallons of sliced pickles, you can make up the membership cost just on the gas alone. Its typically 20-30 cents cheaper (or more) than the national brands and usually is the cheapest in a any given location. They are setup to be super efficient with long hoses so even if you driving an SUV and get on the wrong side you can pull it over. Plus they have a middle lane allowing you to hop ahead. To make it more foolproof, there is now a system of lights to tell you if a spot is open so you can jump around a car that is still filling. Its always credit only and 89/91 octane no middle stuff. So why 3 stars? Like the Costco at this location, every time we have been here the lines are impossibly long. However, a friend who lives nearby said they are opeing up another one in the area so maybe that will help with the lines at this one read more

This gas station even the Costco warehouse has been much slower since the nearby location opened their doors last year in Newark. I drove straight up without waiting, but it was a Monday morning around 9ish... I've never been here at this time of the day and day of the week, so I can't really compare, but this is definitely slower than usual. read more

It's definitely crowded during prime weekend hours, but the best thing about the gas station at this Costco is the green/red indicators for whether a pump is available or not. Love it!! +Multiple employees standing attentive and available to assist if needed. Even doing some traffic control to ensure things run smoothly and people go where/when they're supposed to. +20 gas pumps!! Twenty!! There are 8 queuing lines. The rightmost four queues have three pumps each; the leftmost four queues have two pumps each. P.S. My mom swears she gets better gas mileage with Costco gas :) read more

Fremont Costco Gas is convenient because of the location however this location is one of the largest volume of movement for any Costco in the Bay Area. I live less than 2 miles away and have been coming here since they opened Pacific Commons. That being said, this Costco Gas station is very impacted with poor funneling of cars from a very congested entry from 3 directions (the parking lot, and both directions of traffic on Braun St). See my Google map picture. It is not uncommon to be waiting in this queue up to 30 minutes. The best time to go is very early morning between 6am-8am. After that, it's just annoying. I came here in a Tuesday after noon about 430pm and pulled right into a fuel pump. There was little to no people waiting to pump. I asked the attendants, "What the heck is going on here?! There is zero line!" They didn't know what was going on either. No playoffs, no holiday, no special event to keep people home, NOTHING. There is no specific reason, but sometimes you can get very lucky and get your gas super quick. But mostly, it's a wait. The pumps work fair enough at this location, but there are a few that don't work well at all and you have to keep your hand on the lever at all times. The vapor siphoning system will sense there is too much leak or the pump has to much restriction and will release the lever causing you to re-engage the lever. This happens frequently enough that I hear it all the time. BTW, the attendants will pump the gas for you because of this. You just have to ask. Also the attendants said that there is no plans to reconstruct the entry to the pumps because there is plant life in the island area that borders the entry causing too much of an issue with the city to get permitting to uproot and vegetation. I have no choice but to come here to these pumps unless I gas at Coleman Costco on my way home. Good luck read more

They closed off one of the entrances to enter the gas lines... so it's a really inconvenient bottleneck now!! EVERY CAR must go through the same narrow entrance... and that's for 8 different lines!! Good location with multi lanes for fueling. Staff are always around for any help request. There are specific peak hours where it gets really busy , but staff regulate the lanes so you don't have to wait much. The tire pressure machine is right opposite to the gasoline station and both the available machines are in good working condition. read more

This Costco has such a weird and jammed entry. Seems like the entrance is really narrow and when there's a line for all pumps it's hard to know where to drive to once the lines start moving. Can't go wrong with Costco gas prices! The real question is, do you have the time and patience to sit through the traffic getting to a pump? If you plan correctly, it's worth it. I like going just a few minutes before they close lol and it's pretty fast. I haven't been to the Automall one in awhile (thank you Covid for saving me gas lol), but wow, they came up. There are these fancy boards at each row now that tells you which pumps are available. I suggest going here early at 6AM and getting your gas before going to work etc.. Usually you should only come here when it's not busy, because you can wait 20-40 minutes in line for gas. The right side of the gas station has 3 pumps on the two lanes and the others on the left only have 2 pumps. Sometimes they have traffic control to avoid blocking the street all the way to In-N-Out and have cones to restrict certain areas that cause more congestion, which is good. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes pumps aren't in service and sometimes the traffic control yells at you turn off your car when you gas up. read more

I'm irritated. Today was the first time I've gotten gas here in a couple weeks, but I found out that they have now blocked another one of the entrances to the gas lines from the parking lot. Now there is only one way in and you have to hope that the people in front of you are willing to slide over to the left pumps where the pumps are two at a time vs. the far right four lanes are 3 at a time in order to avoid a bottleneck at the gas line entrance. They have 3-4 employees who try to direct the traffic at the entrance, but it's very disorganized and the tension is high with drivers not making eye contact to communicate who is funneling into the entrance next. Costco gas is definitely the best! I love this location, such a bargain. I would say the price is definitely the best around. It's located in a convenient place, close to a freeway exit. How long am I filling gas from here? May be 8-9 years. Nice experience every time. I have seen so many changes during this time. They added more stations, rearranged the entry point to manage queue, more employees to help the customers, indicators for vacant filling spots... but one thing that never changed in the long wait. Only during the Covid time, I have filled gas without waiting in a long queue. The staffs are friendly and helpful. I had issues with my Costco and Credit card couple of times, they had helped me on all those occasions. May be they can add a few more stations. Almost all the Costco gasolines around this area has more filling stations. High time they need an upgrade. read more

Honestly, Costco gas is one of the best places to get gas. Prices are good (for gas), and you know you're getting a pretty quality gas standard. One thing that's really annoying about going to Costco for gas are the long lines. But that's why you need to make sure you're there during a less crowded time! Nothing wrong with the gas pumps but this location is typically crowded and the customers are really slow. Being in line with 2-3 cars ahead, takes me 10-15mins to get out with gas. The trick is to come at a time when it's not crowded or else you waste a lot of time. read more
