We have had trouble getting a standard size fridge into our condo building. The woman I spoke with on the phone problems solved with me for quite a while. She went far over and beyond! I love the prices and the selection is quite different from Sam's. I prefer Costco's selection but also have a Sam's card as Sam's has been closer for me. Now we've moved and they are equi-distant. I'm not a member, but I frequently accompany my father on outings to Costco. As long as a slice of pizza is in it for me, I'll be there. I thoroughly enjoy the Costco pizza. Its classic, greasy, tasty. I always get the pepperoni. I've tried the churro and find it to be a bit chewy. What is there to say? This is an extremely busy and crowded store. Getting in to the parking lot is a nightmare, the people here getting gas are the most blood-thirsty, inconsiderate group of humans you'll ever come in contact with. Alas... it's... worth it. Come for the rotisserie chicken, great prices on wine, stay for the adorable dog toys and ridiculous playground equipment and seasonal decor. I love walking around just to see what there is for the taking. The best part is walking around the entrance, AKA "the fence," to see what's new. For example, two gallon candle. I like Costco. It's very convenient for me to get to. I wish the app could tell you which aisle something is on. I walked around for 15 mins trying to find peanut butter. It was at the end of a frozen food aisle. There Dubai chocolate bars were on sale when I went. Really good. Only problem is as soon as I like something it's gone. If it's a seasonal product put a simple sign that says seasonal. Service - Other than the person who scans your items and the person 2 minutes later who checks your receipt- there is no service. They aren't rude. I don't expect much from them because I'm sure their goal is efficiency. I would go through self checkout because I usually have 5 or less items but there are people with carts full of stuff going through that line. It just becomes a mess. Prices can be good for some things. I price compare and sometimes items are much less somewhere else. read more

It doesn't matter what time of day you come to Costco it's going to always be busy. The staff scanning memberships as you come in are always so pleasant. There is nothing that you can't find here: from clothes, food, electronics, books they have it all. Bulk buying is the way to go in this economy to get your value and money's worth. Love the pre-scanning feature that makes checking out so easy and quick. And you have to hit the food court for a hot dog, pizza or chicken bake. Complained to management twice now and to door person five times. They mounted lazers up on boards that easily point right in your eyes as you approach the door. They used to point downward for you to scan member card. If not fixed, I will now have to complain to OSHA, and Costco Headquarters. This is stupid and unsafe for your eyes. Produce quality has not been good. The customer service person refused to acknowledge my concerns. She told me if I didn't want to buy my produce from Costco I don't have to. I told them basic customer service would be to get the fresh batch. Who knows how much of this has leaked into other carrots. I had to go to Costco today to make a return and decided to grab lunch while I was there. I ordered the all beef hot dog. First of all, I just want to take a second and appreciate how affordable Costco's food is. My husband was with me, and we spent give or take $3.50 on lunch for the both of us. That's hard to find anywhere these days. Our food was ready within a few minutes. I'm always intimidated by how crowded Costco is. The parking lot feels like a death sentence every time I pull in to park my car just because of how many people are trying to get in and out. There is always a long line for food, from ordering to pick up. I expected our food to take forever. I was very satisfied with how quickly we were able to sit down and eat. The toppings for the hot dogs were at a station separate from the counter near the drink stations. They had ketchup, mustard, and relish available in pumps to place directly on the hot dog and other toppings like onions available upon request at the counter. I'm boring so I only topped mine with ketchup. Costco's hot dogs are huge. They're about twice the length of a normal hot dog. The bun was warm and soft and large enough to hold the toppings inside without them spilling out with every bite. The food court at Costco has many food options ranging from pizza to ice cream to hot dogs. Their hot dogs retail for $1.50 and it comes with a refillable soda cup. This is a price you cannot beat! They also have the typical hot dog condiments like ketchup, mustard, and relish. For the price, it is a good size hot dog. I always come here when I need a quick lunch for cheap. I even often see other restaurants sell hot dogs for twice the price and half the size of Costco's hot dogs. Their food court is also very clean with benches and tables for people to sit and eat after they shop. They come out hot every time and are very time efficient. The only downside of their hot dogs is that you must have a membership to acquire one. The service, price, and quality of Costco's hot dogs are unbeatable. read more

The aisles aren't clearly marked and neither are sections so it's hard to find things. Men's and Women's clothes might be mixed together along with youth. Their Frozen seafood is 99% farm raised with the exception of a brand of raw shrimp. The frozen shrimp isn't labeled by size so you're left holding open the freezer door while you look at all the bags. The aisle around the ptoduce are narrow. read more

This review is not particularly about Costco,yet it is. The Kirkland butt wipes. We have used them for quite some time but as of late they seem to be...well...not up to the task at hand. When you open the package you can expect to tear the first three or four wipes into tiny pieces that are unusable. They come out of the package a bit easier the further you get down in the package. The past couple of boxes have seemed to be much more likely to tear apart than previous boxes we have purchased. So the extra value of getting them cheaper per the bigger quantity is lost. Why make an appointment for tire installation if you are not ready at that time? This is as bad as going to the doctors office where they are overbooked and make you wait. I was told it could be an hour and a half to two hours now we are at 2 1/2 hours and I still don't have my car. Not good. Be honest. Manage expectations. My friend has a costco card and I finally was able to go with her on a grocery run to get some of the snacks and deals i've been eyeing. While there, we of course had to stop at the famous Costco Cafeteria. We got a slice of pepperoni pizza and a hotdog. The pizza was the size of my face, and as oily to boot, but it was delicious. The hotdog was similar in size, bending my thin paper plate in half. We got to use the condiment bar to load it with ketchup and mustard, and honestly we couldn't eat more than half. It was really good, my one complaint was the bun to hotdog ratio, as it felt like we had to eat a bunch of bread before we got to the hotdog part. I usually like Costco, but not today. We did self checkout. An employee helped scan the water and missed one. Got up to the exit and the missed water was revealed. It was embarrassing. They said we could go back to the end of a very long line to pay. Then we would have to get in another long line to leave. I was like heck no and gave them the water back. They were not expecting this and weren't receptive to us just giving the $3.99 water back We will be using more of our Sam's membership as you can scan your as you go and nothing is missed. Poor assistance for disabled members! On August 4, 2024, I shopped the Hoover, Alabama Store and I have experienced a very negative checkout where I was not given help. This was the second time in a month that this happened to me. I was told to unload my buggy at checkout even though I was walking with a cane and wearing a brace on my lower arm and hand. The customers before me had their items scanned by a lady using a handheld scanner and were not asked to unload their items. They had multiple small (under 20lbs) items just as I did. When I asked to speak to a manager, "Matt" said that they were just following company policy! He was not very nice to me and proceeded to imply that they do this to keep people from hiding small items under large one. I felt that he was implying that I was trying to steal something!!! I then stated that, " isn't that why you have people at the door to check receipts and causing long lines to exit the building?!" He didn't seem to like my comments. I then proceeded to cancel my membership and get a refund! I'll never be a Costco member again!!! No one at customer service seemed to care that I was disabled and that I had an issue or that I was canceling my membership!!! In my opinion, Costco is a sinking ship and will probably be out of business within 10 years, if they continue to treat their members like this! I will also be reporting them to the offices of the Americans for Disability Act in Alabama and DC! read more

I have missed my Costco visits during the Covid quarantine! Costco is fun to visit because they stock unique goodies and organic foods. Since Covid, samples are not available, but staff are aways quick and helpful. My favorites to pick-up are the meat, seafood, specialty and gourmet options. Costco is also great for Christmas gift tins, chocolates and cookies for easy hostess gifts to use when needed. Costco always have a significant amount of gluten free food for anyone like me who needs to eat gluten free. Although since Covid, food is available only for to-go orders. PreCovid, one star was deducted for the guest eating area, where the tables and chairs are located right outside the Auto Tires alcove/room. Guests got to eat while smelling the odor from the tire area. read more

Great tire brands at better prices. The road hazard is a spectacular feature, construction in our area has lots of nails,screws and 2x4 in the road. Costco tire service is professional and friendly. I must say they stay busy and try to keep cars moving,but do your self a favor...Drop off the car or shop. I expect to wait an hour or two even for a flat fix. Overall a pretty good store. I have been here a few time. And it reminds me of my trip to Sam's growing up. It has a slightly nicer feel. But essentially the same thing. Crazy part is, it seems like the square footage is the same. But they have more inventory? Maybe it is because I'm an adult know with a love of smoking meats. But I really think it does. I went here with a friend. Because that is what you do when you are cheap. They had incredible prices on whole briskets and I was able to pick up some Christmas presents while I was there. In my opinion, Costco is far superior to Sam's club. Their stock is great and so is their food for great prices! $1.50 for a hotdog combo meal is my usual go-to. Great quality and taste! The service is great no matter if you choose self checkout or at the counter. They also have good selections on the side for self service toppings such as onions, relish, mustard, and ketchup. They have a whole area dedicated to eating so you can eat your food there and not just have to take it to-go. The space is also large enough that you can have your full carts next to you as you eat before you go home! My dad recently got a membership here so we came a few weeks ago. I'm not really big on wholesale items since I live alone and don't really need items in bulk. It was interesting to come here though. I tried lots of samples including pho for the first time. It was Pho-nomenal! The prices of their items didn't really seem to be a better deal than if I bought single packs of items at Walmart so I probably won't join myself. Great place to shop, I got my eye glasses from here, the people here are so helpful, from the dr all the way to the people who order your glasses. This place is a mega fun house for adults. Bulk groceries and discounts on electronics and furniture alike, you can't beat it. I've been going there for several years now to the tire center and they never have given me any problems. Word of caution though, make an appointment, walk-ins are welcome but take second class to appointments. Trust me. Saturdays are the worst to get things done there, but it can work. So Costco is a warehouse that sells things in bulk and if you haven't been there it should be a fund experience to walk around and see what the store offers. I was at the Costco in Hoover and the experience there is rushed and aggressive. People will rush by you frustrated because you stop to look at something. It is like a racetrack with the carts once you check out. No one looks to see if they have just stepped right in front of you are you are walking by. Had to update my review because of two things. The first is Christmas! Yay! They have great things at Christmastime. I always find some cool things for gifts for family and friends. On this occasion, I got my brother a really nice Spyder jacket and I was able to get Spyder gloves to match! Sweet! They also carry a bourbon barrel cake that I gave at a gift swap and the person that got it couldn't stop raving about it afterwards. So this year I got two! They also carry gift certificates that cost less than the face value so you can really get someone a nice gift!
