I love Costco! I mean who doesn't? You can always find something to spend your money on. I feel like they always have a great selection of fresh meat, seafood and prepared meals. I also love the fact that everytime I go here they are handing out samples. One of the other reasons that I love this place is the take out pizza and the foods they offer at the concession stand. The prices are so reasonable and the service is quick. I mean, you can get a footlong hot dog and a drink for $1.50. It's also nice that you don't need a membership to enjoy the food. Therefore, this place is always jumping during lunchtime :)) One of the things I don't care for is that I always spend way too much money here on things I may not need. However, whose fault is that? I do not even know where to begin with the kindness and sincere help I received from Gustavo at Costco in New Orleans. Feeling overwhelmed with the shopping list a contract from WWE provided, a friend mentioned reaching out to Costco after having a great experience there. I called the store and received a manager that told me she would push the message along. Lo and behold Gustavo emailed me immediately and communicated how the process would go. He proceeded to text me over the course of the next few days letting me know what items they did not carry- or were out of. The day of the event, he met me at the door with the items all packed up, a whopping four carts and 2 pallets! He held my hand through the ring up process and even found assistance for loading the rental van. He was there from start to finish and even called me the next day to ensure everything was accounted for. His effort has made me a Costco fan (and Gustavo fan) FOR LIFE. 10 stars from me read more

I've only been here a few times since they opened because I'm a Sam's club member and Sam's closer to where I live. I borrowed my sister card to check it out and see if I can pick up anything that Sam's doesn't offer. Let's start out how genius that they have their food court outside instead of indoor like Sam's. You don't need to have a membership to grab great deals on their hot food such as hot dogs, pizzas, churros, some kind of chicken that looks yummy but I haven't tried, ice cream in a cup or smoothie and fountain drinks. Great way to make money from Xavier college students across the other side that just want to grab a quick cheap snacks. Entering the building, everything is so well organized. I noticed that they offer more liquors choice and Asians snacks and food. They also had some reasonable priced work out legging, PJ sets and woman tops that I grab some. I had fun just walking around with a friend looking around. I grab one of their rotisserie chicken and I can say that I prefer Sam's club better because Cosco chicken were dry. I also grab a container of korean bulgogi. I don't recommend it because it was way over too sweet. I had to eat it with kim chi inorder to help with the sweetness. We did enjoyed their salmon and the butter that came with it for dinner. Over all it was a fun experience but the real question is it worth the $60 membership fee each month? Keep in mind that everything is sold in bulk size so for a single person it's not reasonable but for a person who has a business or large family they should be fine without worrying about food being expired before they can finish it. Only shopped here once, prices didn't seem too much better than elsewhere, but there is a large selection. Pretty clean. I hate that you have to be a "member" to shop here, unless you know a member and they shop with you, lol. This time I came with the girl who would be my girlfriend to the eye doctor here. She said he was talkative and great. Since there was a thunderstorm happening, we had a hot dog outside. Can't beat a buck fifty for a hot dog and sodee pop, and $1.99 for a huge slice of pizza. Costco has everything. We ate at the food court and got two slices of pizza, two drinks and a churro for under $8 which is insane. Then we went shopping; it was Saturday so it was a bit crowded for maneuvering around but when checking out the line always moves reasonably fast. We wanted to fill up one of our tires but unfortunately the tire section of Costco closed slightly before the store itself so we were unable to. read more

When it comes to items that I buy a lot of like paper towels, cleaning supplies, and beverages, this is my only shopping option. In addition to decently priced bulk items, they also offer a lot of other products and services like cheap gas, discounted car rentals and they even have a tire center. As always, Costco is clean, everything is where it should be and the staff is helpful and in abundance, especially at the checkout. I was here one weekday evening. I had been browsing online and came across an article about must have food items from Costco. I took screenshots and headed over. I was able to find everything on my list. Even when I thought I was going to be out of luck on one or two items, they eventually turned up someplace in the store. I rounded up my items, got in line and was happy with my purchases. The store was clean, I felt safe during the pandemic, everyone was wearing a mask and there weren't too many people. I saw the employee spraying and wiping down shopping carts outside so that was reassuring. I will be back as soon as I run out of my goodies. I'm even planning for search for more things to purchase because I love surprises and that's what this trip felt like since all of the items were ones I hadn't tried before. read more

We finally got a Costco in NOLA! I love my hometown but I swear we are the last to get everything ie. Target, Panera Bread, Five Guys, DSW, Ulta etc. And I'm still waiting for Trader Joe's. One friend eloquently explained to me that Costco is to Sam's like Target is to Wal-Mart and I would agree. I have compared prices and they are equitable but what stands out is the customer service. Costco treats their employees well and it shows. People WANT to work there and are excited to be there. Heck, there is even an attendant out there to greet you in all kinda of crazy weather when you pump gas! I go to Costco for gas, pharmacy, wine, prepared food, books and household items! Their return policy is awesome so I feel confident that whatever I buy I can return it do it doesn't meet my needs. Plus they have instant rebates on things. Hello Contigo travel mugs that don't spill! I'm going to get their water bottles as well. Moving into a new condo I love the Gordon Ramsey Royal Doulton white place setting I bought. I was wven able to buy the display because they ran out of the white place settings and only had blue left! Although the picture of Gordon Ramsey on the box is a little frightening but bygones. Hehe...and their memory foam bath mats are amazing!! It's the little things y'all! Plus don't get me stuck on samples! Their huge pumpkin pie was a hit over thanksgiving and saved me from baking one! Although I baked too many anyway this past year! This year I brought thanksgiving to my parents and bought the huge ham, pumpkin pie, apple pie, premade mashed potatoes and gravy, and premade macaroni and cheese. It was all delicious! They have an extensive wine selection as well with different price points. And their book and Blu ray/DVD selection is impressive. And I buy supplies for the office here as well (my excuse for getting the membership). Quentin is a great pharmacist and super friendly and knowledgeable! My seven years living in Los Angeles opened my eyes to a whole new world. One of the better discoveries I made, thanks to Los Angeles Yelper Ticha B., was Costco. I purchased a membership on my first visit and instantly became a loyal customer. Needless to say, when I moved back home to New Orleans, I couldn't even imagine having a membership at any other wholesale club other than Costco. So I waited and waited and waited. And low & behold, "NOLA finally got a Costco"! Costco really is a one stop shop for all your household (or business) needs. Even if you live alone or have a small family, don't be scared to get a membership, as there are plenty of items that don't come in a 100 pack or pallet sized offering. Things I love about Costco: 1. The outdoor food "pavilion" - Although it gets very hot in the summer, where else can you get a foot-long all beef hot dog and a drink with unlimited refills for $1.50? The answer is nowhere else. I am also a big fan of the sliced pizza, the chicken bake and the churros. 2. The inexpensive gas - Costco offers some of the cheapest prices on gasoline in the Metro area, and this alone is worth the price of a membership. 3. Food samples galore - On a Saturday & Sunday (& maybe other days too), there are at least a dozen food sampling stations setup throughout the store in order for you to taste the food offerings. Check out the meat counter for the USDA Prime steaks. I've had them and they are incredible. 4. The parking lot - Although not the biggest in the world, this lot features very wide spacing so door dings are not really an issue. 5. Friendly staff - Costco prides itself on paying and treating their employees well; and it shows. The staff is friendly, enthusiastic and always willing to assist a customer. 6. Kirkland brand - Costco's Kirkland brand products, for the most part, are just as good as their name brand counterparts. The Kirkland brand toilet paper, IMO, is indistinguishable from Charmin. I guarantee that your backside cannot tell the difference, but your wallet/pocketbook definitely will. I could go on and on but I think it's obvious that I am definitely a huge Costco fan. Yelper Michelle B's friend's analogy that Costco is to Sam's as Target is to Wal Mart is pretty accurate. I could've made it to the grand opening, but I opted to wait as I wanted the ability to peruse the store without the hustle & bustle of people, people & people everywhere you turn. So on to the review. I joined online, so I was required to go to the front desk to get my membership card & have my photo taken. Ok done & done... On to the task at hand... Saving money & Shopping!!!! Items are at floor level & on stacked upwards of 15 feet above head. This is great because it makes it easy to see availability of items. Spacious your items can be placed inside a closed in chopping cart or a flat sideless cart, either way go for it. Strategically placed are food servers that dish up bite-sized samples of items for sale inside the store. Great marketing strategy in a two-fold manner: samples allow people to taste foods they may not have otherwise tried &&& the samples are a draw for those of us that like "freebies" & this helps us yo keep shopping; win-win for the merchant. Anywho... I did find some items to be priced better here than other places & vice versa. Like all things you've gotta price compare. There wine selection is quite extensive for a store of this type. I've been to other "membership-only warehouse club" & have NOT seen a selection of this variance. Gas prices are markedly lower than other retail fueling stations. Seafood selection is nice. My only complaint is there should be more items. Seems kinda sparse. They can add more clothing & shoe items. A few more bakery & food items. I suspect this will happen over time. Also I'm not sure how I feel about the employees NOT wearing uniforms, hard to identify employees when you need assistance. Additionally, this could present a safety measure, #ijs. I got tires from Costco at a different location. I got a flat tire in New Orleans. I called 15 times and sat on hold for over an hour trying to call to get the tire repaired or replaced. I was also at my rotation time. After four hours of trying to call these less than lovely folks, I finally called a "manager". She told me in the rudest way imaginable that I should try pressing the tire extension. Like ma'mm...I have for hours. She said she'd have someone call me back. Fast forward 2 hours... no call. I call back again and ask for the main manager in a less than pleased manner. She told me I need to lower my tone. Then I got irate. I spent 15 calls and hours of my day to get a flat tire repaired in a city I don't live in. 15 calls and hours just to talk to the tire dept. I do not understand how they could not comprehend that people who are stranded need people to answer a phone. McDonald's has better trained managers. Finally got a call back from the tire center telling me it would be 5 days till they could fit me in. That makes the road hazard policy completely useless like their managers and workers. Never met a lazier set of people in my life and I eat fast food. The manager should change careers because that manger couldn't manage a toilet. Go to any other tire shop. I mean even Boudreaux and Thibodeaux hanging with Cooter Brown could run circles around these incompetent oxygen thieves. read more

Gas is extremely cheaper esp since my car is turbo and requires supreme gas! The gas here is also top tier meaning their gas has a detergent in it that will keep you engine clean. I love the layout of Costco and can spend and entire day here! I walk in while the sun is still shining and walk out when the sun is down ! Crazy! I'm here at least once a week! This is just about a weekly visit for us, good quality items at reasonable prices. Gas is always a plus here. What I don't like is they'll have really good food items I like for a month or so then discontinue carrying them, #bring back my yogurt and the granola I like!!!# 1st world problems. Those prices feel great and their selection is wonderful, so that's definitely worth a few stars. I only rate three of them because I got confronted by a rude worker a few days ago. What happened is that I was trying out one of the iMacs they had to sample there, but one man tells me I can't surf the Internet on this computer because it's a "work computer". Firstly, no way is that a work computer if there's no code necessary to get in, and if it was one, it shouldn't be so out in the open where customers can easily access it. Secondly, IF there's any device that you don't want customers touching, maybe add a sign that makes it OBVIOUS that we can't use it. Don't you force customers to know about rules by breaking them! Lastly, whoever the hell kicked me off the iMac, I need you to practice both manners and professionalism. In fact, kudos to the whole Costco team for placing themselves at risk to ensure we, the public, have access to needed supplies. I want to thank and compliment Chris in the tire shop. Online I ordered a set of tires for my daughter's car and scheduled their installation. On the day the tires were delivered to the Costco tire shop, Chris called to advise me that I shouldn't install these tires - they are the wrong tires for this climate. I thought I'd ordered tires that provided optimal performance in rain. Chris informed me that these tires were specifically designed for snow/ice, and that they would not perform well (poor traction and high wear rate) in the Louisiana heat. He pointed out several alternate tires for me to consider and he explained how to get a refund on the tires that I'd mistakenly ordered. On his own initiative, Chris saved me from making a costly mistake. He didn't have to do that. Thanks Chris!! read more

People who know me know I literally love Costco. I love a good deal so I shop here for our food. Their price for pork tenderloins and ground beef is the best around. All of their pre-made food is delicious they carry aidells which is my go-to during a Whole30. They also have whole30 compliant deli meat. Their all-American chocolate cake was what we got for every special celebration growing up, and my all time favorite cake. The prices on their cakes can't be beat either. I ordered a sheet cake from here for my friends bridal shower and it was beautiful and tasty and so inexpensive. Of course all the samples are great too, and everyone handing them out are always so friendly. Definitely the place to go if you're in need of household items in bulk. Especially since this is the only Costco in the city, they've maintained good customer service and cleanliness since opening. Costco also has special deals on electronic items if you're in search of a new television or computer. In comparison to Sam's Club, Costco provides more unique, organic items you may not find in other stores, whereas Sam's would provide more in-store items your usual Wal-mart or Target may carry. I ordered flowers for my wedding rehearsal to pick up at this location. Unfortunately, the flower order was not there. I was a little bit of a frantic bride. Three ladies at the warehouse store (Adrian, Lilian, and Shantell) did everything in their power to make sure I had all the best flowers they had in their warehouse. They took all the flowers out of their cooler and let me go through it and pick the bouquets that I could use for my centerpieces. They did NOT have to be as accommodating as they were. Honestly, they could have just said, "We don't have your flowers, sorry." And kept it pushing. They did the exact opposite. In these crazy times we live in, where people don't really go out of their way to help others, or treat people with the utmost kindness, THESE LADIES DID! It truly meant so much. I LOVE this Costco!!! It is really great for all my fruits and veggies (I usually freeze half for smoothies and/or baking). They have great paper goods that you can buy in bulk and not have to go shopping for again for several months. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. You do need a membership but it is sooooo worth it! They have so many vegan things -- The frozen spring rolls are vegan and they have lots of morning star farms products that are all recently made completely vegan!! Plus lots of nuts and baking goods, coffee (I also freeze this!), and their clothes are good quality and reasonably priced -- The best part is........ drum roll please........ they now have totally vegan and totally AMAZING Açaí Bowls at the little grab and go place!!!! I have been going to Costco for three years without any bad experiences, but I guess theres a first time for everything. I went to the self checkout line(which really isn't self checkout) and the associate Britny was plain rude. I attempted to scan my membership app several times, but it did not work. She is standing beside me with a scan gun and did not once offer to use it. Once we were able to begin the transaction, she is constantly looking at me with disgust. She's literally rolled her eyes the entire time. She made me and my kids feel very uncomfortable with the ugly looks she gave. We were so uncomfortable I abandoned the basket and transaction. I ended up talking to a very kind supervisor George who went and found my basket and checked me out at a different register. That was very nice of him. We pay money to shop at Costco. This is not going to be my usual style of review. This shit be serious. So sit up straight, clear your desk, shotgun that beer, and take out a $100,000 school loan, because it's time for Costco college. Costco is a company born in Washington State, so full disclosure, being that I'm from there, I've loved it since I was in grade school, and now we finally have one here in my new home of New Orleans. It's a beautiful sight! Yes, there are great deals. Yes you can get a tasty all beef hot dog and a Pepsi-distributed soda here for $1.50, as has been the deal since 1985 (and I highly recommend you enjoy this freaking awesome deal at least once). Yes you can get gas here cheaper than you'll find anywhere outside of a Sheik's kitchen faucet. But the most important reason to get a membership and to use it, is not just to save money, but to vote with your dollars for the kind of company that should actually succeed in this world, and in our city. Oh, so you already have a membership at Walmart's Sam's Club, or hear that it's cheaper, or maybe you're just closer to one of them, and think they're basically the same thing? Well they're not. The prices you pay are indeed quite comparable, but the wages they pay their workers are very different. Though slightly higher than Walmart wages, the average employee at Sam's Club earns under $20,000/yr. That's poverty for a household of three. Costco meanwhile pays over $45,000/yr. That, dear reader, is a true living wage. It is because of this, and the numerous other positive ways in which they are treated, like 9 out of 10 having health insurance that covers over 90% of their costs (while Sam'sClub/Wal-Mart covers half of their employees and a third of the premiums), and unlike with anything Walmart owned, an actual ability to unionize exists to the tune of 15% of Costco employees belonging to unions. This all leads to only 5% of Costco employees quitting that have stayed for one year. Think about that for a second in this world where loyalty rarely exists anymore in the work place. This massively small turnover rate compared to other retailers, spells happier more experienced employees. If the way they treat their employees isn't a big enough selling point for you, how about the way they treat you? Well, not only do their happier more experienced employees mean a better experience for you, but you can take comfort in the fact their highest markup is 15%, and that's only for their Kirkland brand stuff. The average is more like 8-10%, meaning that overall, once they pay their labor costs, which again is an actual living wage, they break about even. So how do they make money then? The answer to this is exactly why you should get a membership. 80% of Costco's profits comes from membership fees. They make money, because we like the experience so much. We like the prices so much. We like the way they treat their employees so much, and the way they treat us in return, that we actually pay for the privilege to shop here. Those are the numbers. Study them well. Or ignore them and continue to give more money to the richest family in the world via Walmart or Sam's Club. Spend your money in a way that saves you money while actually enabling people to live theirs, or spend your money in a way that supports the continuation of full-time workers living in poverty while actually being subsidized by your tax dollars. A couple final notes: Every Costco is organized around the "Race Track", and this one is no different. It makes it really easy to find everything, of which there are about 4,000 different types of items available instead of your usual 40,000 at a place like Rouse's or Winn-Dixie. This means fewer options, but at the same time, it saves time, and the quality is high. Finally, the number one selling product at Costco is toilet paper. Get yourself some and see why. You'll spend like $5, it'll last you a decade, and your sphincter will thank you with a single wink of its sparkly brown eye. #OccupyTheRaceTrack! read more

I love everything about Costco except the lines, which move pretty quickly, considering that when most people go they buy for a family of 82,395. I go for only a few things: milk, tp, toothpaste, chicken stock, pasta sauce, and rotisserie chicken. If I buy anything else it's usually for a party because of the size. All of the dips are excellent, their alcohol is delicious, and they have really great frozen things, as well. If you go, don't be afraid to buy Kirkland! They're a fantastic brand and their products are the same as their big brands out there (especially their alcohol). If you don't go to buy groceries, their food outside is equally delicious and affordable. My husband is especially good at going to Costco when he's hungry and buying a hot dog. read more
