Not the staff's fault, but the menu isn't the best and it isn't particularly cheap - they should take lessons from their American rivals. Plenty of free parking which is always a bonus. Often queues at the tills and they never seem to open enough of them. Check your receipt carefully as there are often mistakes.

Makro also sell clothes and some bargains can be found for the branded items and also books but again, electricals are expensive compared to online stores.

I go here regularly for their excellent wrapping paper, 2 sheets and 2 tags are only 50p - a total bargain as they are great quality. They do good deals on gifts and I have bought quite a few things from here for christmas. At easter they also have an excellent range of easter eggs. The staff are very nice and helpful and this is one of the 10 shops in Barnsley I regularly visit as it always has what I am looking for. Now Woolworths in Barnsley has closed I visit here even more.

Marks and Spencer is one of those truly British brands, from the Food Hall to clothes, they're…read moresurely a big name with huge, anchor stores around the country, this is another example of that stereotype, being one of the anchor stores of the Meadowhall of Sheffield, being towards the end of the mall it provides one of the linkways between the Meadowhall Interchange, basically forcing you to cut through here to get the train, or one of two tram stations which serve the largest shopping centre in the Yorkshire and Humber region of England, the other of course being Debenhams. It also surprises me that after 16 reviews which were merged onto Yelp originally from Qype this place has been unreviewed in nearly a whole decade, with no reviews yet actually written on the Yelp platform. The staff here seemed really friendly, but I find this to be usually typical of Marks and Spencer, a staff member even offered to help me out of the store where I was going, I found the layout and signage fairly confusing especially considering the fact there are many ways to get in, and out of the store. The store felt like a typical Marks and Spencer, product ranges were okay and this was one of the larger and better stores in the shopping mall, and for me, this would have warranted a solid three-star rating, but I'm pleased to say the service going the extra mile, makes this one of the better Marks and Spencer stores despite having a confusing layout, with the signs offering more harm than good, sending me into the changing rooms on search for the exit. 4*

I must have gone through that shop ten times over two days, and each and every time I couldn't help but grimace at the appalling clothes on display. Some items are pretty poor, either with very little discount or really badly designed and you can see why they're cheap. But there are some real gems there and you can get some complete bargains. I got a gorgeous pair of chocolate winter cords the other day for £2.99, a kids hoodie for £1.99 and a bra for 99p. Look out for the rails of final clearance stock - these are the best value. They have fitting rooms like normal M&S stores, and the staff at the checkouts are always very friendly and polite as you'd expect. They mainly have womens clothing, with different ranges including Per Una and lingerie. There is a decent mens section as well, and a small childrenswear area to the back beside the fitting rooms. They so sell some homewares but only minimal and it is mostly towels, pot pourri and that sort of thing. This shop and Next clearance are the main reasons that a lot of people bother making a trip to the outlet in the first place. If M&S wasn't there I know I wouldn't bother half as often. Highly recommended for bargain hunters!

There's nowhere near the selection you get in the normal M&S stores, but what they do have is discounted quite a bit off the normal store price. They also have 'special purchase' items which are only sold in their outlet stores, sometimes because they're slightly lesser quality, other timesjust because! The best bit is the clearance section that you find at the back of the store. I got a pair of work trousers in there for £2.99 that had originally been £45, and they're really good quality. Also lots of kids things in there for 50p and £1, so it's well worth a good look. Great for pressies for elderly aunties!

This is probably one of the most maverick and unconventional Wilko stores I have visited, the main…read morebranch in Sheffield city centre - the store is over two floors and it is the first time I have ever seen a Wilko branch contain a Post Office, toilets and Cafe - although the latter two seem to close really early including the toilets a good 2 hours or so before the store closes which for me lowers that benefits - the only toilet which is open throughout the store is the disabled toilet which appears to be used for storage making it a nightmare for anyone, let alone a disabled person of which the toilet is designed for. The store being on Haymarket perhaps isn't the best location within the city centre, as it is a stop on the tram or a good 5-10 minute walk from the rest of the city's main shopping areas including The Moor and Fargate, the whole area seems a little rough including the nearby Hilton Sheffield - which of course lowers the overall feel of the store as it feels like the backstreets of a third world country rather than a city centre of the largest and main town of the South Yorkshire region. The staff didn't seem too friendly or helpful - the overall product range was okay but again the layout was confusing including one way in one way out forcing you to buy something - again this is a traditional method Wilko use in many of their stores but surely this adds extra inconvenience to customers just coming in perhaps to use the Cafe (at its' limited hours) or the Post Office who obviously have no need to wait at the crowded checkouts? Not in the best location in Sheffield but still central nonetheless, also let down by its' store layout and perhaps offering too much than it is able to cope with - proof of this is closing many facilities early or having different timings which don't seem to work out. 2*

It reopened towards the end of 2022 after refurbishment. The store is spacious and has a nice feel; the men's section is also improved, while I agree the fashion isn't really catered towards a more youthful market, there are still some nice items here to take a look at. I didn't notice many staff members around the shop floor, which makes it a little more difficult if you require assistance. A new and improved location, well worth a visit for NEXT fans. 4*

The selection is pretty much what you'd expect to find for the Poundshop, they did have a good deal on Carabao, the Thai energy drink which I'm quite fond off (sadly it's quite hard to find in the UK - even though they sponsor one of our major competitions in football, The Carabao Cup which my beloved Manchester City have won two times in a row - meanwhile Sheffield United have never won it!) Other than having larger cans of Carabao, I was quite upset and shocked at the size of products in the store which was branded, everything was smaller portions than average which I presume was the only way they could offer items so cheap, but honestly the "bargains" they claim to have just felt like they offered no saving (and perhaps were a little more expensive when you compare ml or grams to the pound!) - A real shame.
