Normally a great store and have spent literally thousands at this location but trying to get 20 something dollars back for some fuzzy fruit that I bought only a few days ago (in good condition) was one problem I did not expect for this good company. The next till staff saying out loud for me to chill out was reason the reason I am sending this poor customer experience in. The other main reasons are selling fruit that went bad in the fridge and in the heavily air conditioned dark home. Costco wanted the fruit back or pictures which I partly understand but after all this fruit when fuzzy 2 days after purchase ? A cantaloupe a carton of strawberries (less ripe of what was on display and black berries. Sure I was disappointed in this trifecta of rot but my partner disposed of the fuzzy stinking mess not thinking pictures where needed. During this exchange I asked to speak to a manager who made it right aka a refund but not before being politely lectured on policy. My Response do not treat rotting food as you do non perishables and look at the customer return record for returned items (virtually nothing) but that is disregarded as a non factor. During the process I said I would get a photo taken as we speak asking my son to open the green bin and shoot what he could see. They said do not bother. But here it is anyway. Just a rude shrug and a flippant comment by the neighbouring teller which was the straw that broke this camels back. Perhaps we shop elsewhere for fruit or everything else. A complete fail on customer service at the overlea location. Let's hope this is a one off and the suppliers get alerted for produce issues. This is not about the few bucks it's totally about the service failures and what the store managers do next. read more

What superlatives are left to say about Costco? I patronize their awesome stores in US and Canada where I find the superior customer service to be consistent. Kirkland branded products are always a good value, are top notch, and not ever second rated. Anytime there are shoes or sandals available here there is a shoe explosion. It becomes a huge mess of people opening boxes and trying on shoes and sandals. The produce here is not the freshest. When I buy produce often times it goes bad before the expiration date. Costco does take back it's produce if it goes bad before it's expiration date, that's the only reason I give this location 3 stars otherwise it would be two stars. As I've been disappointed with the produce going bad before the expiration date too many times. read more

There are always new products to discover at Costco. My latest fab finds: - Sleek desk lamp with integrated wireless phone charger for about $50 - Tazo chai latte in a carton pack of 3 - I was looking at it, and a random customer came up and recommended it. Just mix it with milk for the perfect sweetness, like having an SBUX chai latte at home. I dilute a quarter of it with dairy/almond milk. - Fancy desserts in a glass for under $15, this time we're trying the Crème brûlée. Perfect for reuse as a sauce tray or drip tray for planters. I've also previously reused some of their other small glasses for plant propagation and spirits. The Crème brûlée is a bit trickier to work as you need to sprinkle the sugar on top and torch or broil it. I put mine in an air fryer for 2min and not a hard shell but decent enough. - I always come here to restock bulk Kirkland almond milk for less. They have a range of plant based beverages - If you're looking for gifts for children, there are Lego sets, LOL doll surprise present boxes $35~, and Kit Kat Gingerbread house kit $10 or $15. - I recently discovered they have Kirkland Marinara sauce! I bought some too but yet to try If you see an item you want, you might as well pick it up in case of supply chain shortages during the holidays. read more

This store is prejudice, it is very not friendly to the new comming to Canada. They intentionally do not leave any place to leave a feedback, just to avoid the terrible service they give. You are not good enough for them, even though you are ok to any other store. They don't even bother to give you a bad attitude. I hope I will never buy at their store. read more

This is the newest and closest location to my office so I stopped in on my way home to check it out. It's huge! The layout is mostly familiar but it feels a lot bigger than most other locations. There were some exclusive grand opening specials but nothing that I needed. The biggest difference I noticed with this location is the food court. It's huge and bright, with large windows. It also has its own separate entrance but no direct access to the store. That makes it easy for non-members to enjoy a meal but maybe not so good for nearby restaurants. The food court serves all the regular popular items, including hot dogs, sausages, pizza, fries, chicken fingers, chicken wings, ice cream, and more. Today, I had the 10pc chicken wings (6.99), fries (2.69), and a fountain drink (.79). The coated fries have always been one of my favourites. The wings, a relatively new item, were crispy and juicy. It comes with a choice of dipping sauce but I prefer mine naked. For under $12 (with tax), it was a great deal for a complete delicious meal. read more

Our first trip to the much maligned NIMBY Costco that all the vocal opponents in the neighbourhood are probably shopping at now that they lost the battle to keep it from being built. This is a review of the food court only. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad and I got a polish sausage (as a snack because I ate lunch before I came) just because i wanted a drink. Total for the sausage and drink was $1.50. Yeah, seriously. I would say it's a notch below street meat but still better than a 7-11 dog that's been rolling on the rollers since some time last summer. The salad was too cold as it's stored in the fridge until you order. But there's lots of cheese croutons and a good amount of tender white meat chicken. Some of the lettuce was a bit wilted but they even gave a fresh lemon slice. All in all, worthy of the $6. I also like that the food court is separated from the chaos of the store itself. And it's before the member check so in theory you could come here just for lunch or dinner. Talk about a cheap date! read more

Clearly social distancing is front and centre. Getting into Csotco required social distancing and sanitizing the hands. In the cooked food area, they removed the benches and ordering is done through the machine kiosks. As well, you now let the employee know which fountain drink and they will pour it for you. read more

Costco is always a high traffic place to shop no matter the time of week or time of day you visit. I recently stopped by during the holiday and was surprised I was able to walk right in. The warehouse was not crowded and was able to comfortably shop and maneuver my cart around. I was there around 1:30pm and the rotisserie chickens were just out of the oven. I was able to pick up one that's fresh which is a huge bonus. When I was ready to check out, I went to the self check out area where there was no lineup at all. I had 2 checkouts to choose from also which was very surprising to me. This is a very comfortable location to shop at and I will definitely be back. After check out, I pretty much walked straight up to the girl at the exit to check my receipt and got out. At the take out area which is separate from the warehouse, I was able to walk up to the kiosk to order my food and it was ready to pick up very quickly also. Because of covid, they blocked off all the tables to dine there, but it wasn't a problem. Everybody purchased their food to go. read more

Can anyone honestly leave without spending at least a hundred dollars? We love buying the racks of lamb. They're so easy to cook and taste amazing. I recently bought a truckload of duck breasts. If it's on sale, I'm probably going to buy it. With minimal prep, anyone can make them perfectly seared. I usually pick up a couple of cheeses, some veggies from the cold room, snacks, and grapeseed/olive oil. The main problem is overbuying... can anyone go through a vat of mayo? Maybe a restaurant but an average consumer? Unlikely. The fruit and produce can sometimes be kinda pricey so do keep that in mind. Their return policy is also quite flexible. I once saw a guy return a tv with no box, and as he approached the register, it slipped off the cart. Seriously, who does that? Overall, I'm definitely a fan. It's great for so many needs and especially the ones you didn't even know about! Here's a challenge: Go with one bag and only buy what you can carry! Good luck! read more

One of the newer GTA locations and the selection is not bad. The staffing however is horrible hence the 1 star review. The staff here must be unionized as their I don't give a shit and I cannot be fired attitude is very common. I though Costco once prided them selves on customer service... not any more... this location truly needs an attitude adjustment from able bodied staff using handicapped spots. So it's a Costco. No sense in describing what it offers since I'm sure most are familiar with that. For me, each location would get an automatic 4 stars by virtue of it being a well run company with good products, and generally offering the same experiences to customers at all locations. This one is exceptional however based on the fact that it's presently much quieter. I swear there was maybe 1/4 of the crowd here compared to what you'd expect at other locations. That will likely change with time, but if I was in the area and even if another location was 10 minutes closer than this one, I'd still come here and enjoy the space, tranquility and virtually no lines. It's also better designed. The main thing being having a completely separate space for the food court, which also has lots of tables. They also have exits from the parking lot on two different streets which I'm sure reduces some of the chaos compared to other locations such as the one in Brampton. read more

Folks I am a big fan of Costco so was eagerly awaiting the opening of this location. I wasn't too keen on visiting on a Saturday as heard about the crowds when they opened up. A pleasant surprise the place wasn't busy at all with plenty of parking spots (maybe its due to the lack of a gas station which creates a bottle neck). Initial impression this is one of the largest Costco store in GTA I have visited. The Aisles seem to be wider/brighter than normal. Some new items for electronics that I haven't seen at other spots. My main reason for visiting are the food items and boy this place didn't disappoint. Mind you they seem to focus on the subcontinent as there were so many items I haven't seen elsewhere. Mega block of paneer, huge jar of ghee, variety of lentils, Atta (plain and whole grain), few types of rice, multiple sauces for cooking the list goes on and on. The spice aisle really shines as they had some hard to find one's at amazing prices (its Costco after all). Some variety of halal chicken. Personally I think they are a bit lacking for organic items but that might change soon. Now the big question will this becomes my go to Costco spot hmm unlikely as getting here on TTC isn't as easy for moi (north york location being the best) and I prefer the Etobicoke location if taking a car due to proximity and more variety of items that I purchase. Will revisit to explore more for sure. read more

This is the new location (Don Mills and Eglinton) so everything is nice and clean, which is a huge bonus. It's actually pretty big - I went one day in the afternoon and it never felt rammed like the Scarborough locations. Before the opening, this particular location sent out coupons via mail for specific specials for this location only - 40 rolls of toilet paper for $11?? Seriously, how can you even question that?! All your poop needs handled for the rest of the year :) The parking lot is huge, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot. At this moment, there isn't a gas bar so I think that definitely helps the traffic flow. I haven't been to a Costco in years, but having one in this location made me get a membership (they had a Groupon special a while back) and I wasn't disappointed. A lot of interesting items as others have mentioned - their spices, paneer, ghee, etc. I guess they are probably catering to the demographics, which is nice. I look forward to coming back here again once my toilet paper runs out. Oh who am I kidding - I'll be back here next week for their fish selection, beet salad, and I'm sure they MUST have their Christmas trees out by now! read more

I finally made it to this location after reading it opened a few weeks ago. There really isn't anything special about this location apart from its new and the place is absolutely clean including the parking lot. The shopping cart jockeys were not only collecting carts in the parking lot but were also picking up trash while they worked. I was very impressed. Not sure word is out that this place is already open as the crowds were minimal when I visited. In fact the lineup for the food was longer than the lineup to pay for your purchases. The only discernible difference from other costco locations I've been too is the food area is completely separate from the main store. I'm not sure this format works, but we'll see soon enough I guess. read more

Dolly and Shawn took it on themselves to regulate who is able to use the tax exempt based on the the province in which the user is born..I am no less Indigenous because I was not born in Ontario... While Costco sits on stolen land and non- born staff dictates if my Status Card issued by the government of Canada can be used in their store, well done ! Freshly minted Costco, like the fact that the food court is separated from the cash area, which does help with crowds. Been here quite a few times because the Markham location is very far, Warden Costco is an abysmal mess. No issues to report or anything concerning. Must say, I'm not a huge fan of harassing customers at the door to show your membership and if you don't have your membership, you're not allowed to enter the store? This is a Costco problem, not more this location. Is it a really bad thing for folks to come in, see what Costco offers on their shelves and maybe it helps them open up a membership to shop here? My first time in Costco in Canada. Feel interested to find stuff that US Costco doesn't has. Found some cookie and collagen tube drink, price is good, when i check out, i use my Visa card as in US, but it won't go through. Finally the lady say are u using Visa, they don't accept Visa! I say, what? In US Costco, Visa is the only card Costco accepts. She say well, that's US. This is Canada. We only accept master card. What can I possibly add here that hasn't been said already? Nice, new Costco. I like the separate food area and I did try one of the much touted hot dogs. Liked it but not those coated fries. Why do they do that? It's gross! Popeye Chicken does theirs like that also. Make that an OPTION because some of us are watching our sodium intake and those fries are possibly three day's worth! The usual great deals are here and again, only if one has room to store a ten gallon drum of mayonnaise!! I got an eye exam and new contacts. Was pleased with the experience - people were friendly and helpful and the lenses got there super fast. I love Costco's return policy because so many stores lately, for some strange reason, are really pulling back on what you can return, how long, etc. and it's a real pain in the ass for consumers. You've got to watch out for the really unscrupulous stores like Kitchen Stuff Plus who will really screw you over when it comes to returns. You won't have any problems here. My only complaint? What's with the stopping me on my way out, wanting to see my membership card AGAIN and scrutinizing my receipt?!! I find that a tad insulting and intrusive as no other store does that. They claim it's to check to make sure the cashier didn't make an error but come on....who really believes THAT?!!! read more

Pizza was awful. Called ahead to order, picked up at time specified, pizza was full, barely warm, didn't have any sausage or black olives like other locations do. Better to go elsewhere for pizza, even other locations will make a better one, like the Scarborough location. read more

What causes slowdowns in a 5km radius, as seen on the gold and red of Google maps live traffic? Costco. Grand. Opening. Initially I didn't want to go, as I knew it would be absolute bedlam. However, I have never laughed as hard, or made as many friends in line as at the Thorncliffe Costco. Overcoming challenges together is the fastest way to expedite a relationship, and by the time you got to the till, we - the brave and foolish - felt like we had come out on the other side of a small war. Boxing Day has nothing on this. Honorary mentions: - a sly grandpa grabbing a handful of capsules at the Nespresso booth and just walking away. We made eye contact and laughed. When your decades number 7+, what can you not get away with? - in line, a retiree decked out in designer yelled at a two year old to shut up, but in stronger language. Mum was shocked into silence. - at the Finish dishwashing tablet promo table, the poor rep said pleadingly "alright no more, I've seen you five times", to a man that awkwardly chuckled it off as he simultaneously eased the packet (of 18 capsules!) out of the employee's hand. His house, I want to eat at. I'm sure the porcelain is sparkling. If he even has a dishwasher, that is. What bargains did I come out with? $170 worth of Kirkland golf balls and a 100ft contractor-grade garden hose. Savings? Questionable. Stories? F***ing priceless. read more

I went to Costco to shop without my partner today (not a usual occurrence). At the checkout, an employee, helped me load up my items, as well as put them back in the cart - I didn't ask for help and it was a nice surprise, especially since I was alone. They were also friendly. It made my day actually! Costco can be a chaotic place, and the checkout can become loud and crowded - it was nice that there seemed to be extra management/help for the lines and checkout at this location. read more

Honestly, this is awesome since it is usually the craziness of people and their carts immediately after the cashiers that makes a Costco unbearable and difficult to maneuver around! I love a great barbecue hot dog so the fact I love Costco's boiled hot dog is quite a statement. For $1.50 I get a hot dog that I have never put relishes on. I eat it while I am in line everytime. I take the free pop by its lonesome after I have paid for the disappeared hot dog. The hot dog is a ton of calories but it is worth it. read more

Better designed than other Costco stores, the busy food area is accessed separately but beside the main warehouse. There is a tire centre but no gas or propane. There is plenty of parking and two ways to enter. It is, for now, not quite as busy as other stores and as such, a pleasant place to shop. Checkout lines may be long at times but customers are processed quickly. The return line can be long, and it took a while for a second associate to help manage it. All in all, very happy to have this location open. read more
