This place was packed right at opening on a Friday morning, 10AM. Shop till you drop but you can self checkout or do regular manned checkout. Like any Costco, wide aisles, tons of selection, and great prices. Tables are out if you choose to get food at the food court and eat there. Liquour is in the center of the store. I recommend using instacart to check if this costco carries what you're looking for, make sure to enter the zip code of where this costco is at and it will most likely use the inventory the costco closest to that zip code. read more

My Maytag dryer was delivered today by 2 non-english speaking men. After bringing in my new dryer, I noticed one guy working his drill to undo/replace the screws in back of the dryer. He probably stripped the nails because he was applying way too much pressure. Next, when it was time to attach the hose in back, they attempted to attach my OLD hose! I stopped that and told them, "No". So then, he went to his truck to get a new one. Last, (yes, there's more) they were ready to leave and told me they were done. I checked to make sure the dryer was stable and balanced because when he touched it it was very wobbly. He looked perplexed and not sure what to do about it. Next, I noticed him looking all over my laundry room and proceeded to reach into my rags basket and take one out...he motioned that he wanted to stick it under my new dryer to balance it! Again, I had to say, "No". He had his partner go to the truck and grab some things to put under each corner, which eventually balanced my dryer and helped it not "rock". Wow! The redundancies are amusing until you get to checkout and have to wait in an unreasonable line to pay (1 cashier for 11 people) unless you care to use the self checkout, which I refuse.. And then you wait again to walk out door while receipt checkers pretend to inspect the entire cart, realistically. While the shelves are usually well stocked, and the store is typically clean, the lines dieting non peak hours get tiresome, I typically visit weekdays, 10-2 pm and often then surprised and slightly annoyed at the line. (2 other customers flanking me also venting frustration of the excessive lines "lately") it is certainly saturation, but also employee placement/priority. I expect lines can largely be helped by leaving the extra cashier on, quite simply, there is never an absence of a line.. this is a costomer friendly policy, keep the line moving please, or more people will just order online.. read more

This is my home Costco, I typically shop here once every two weeks. And usually I have such a great experience with this Costco. I usually shop with my husband and he helps to load up all the groceries in the boxes, etc. today I was shopping alone and asked if I could have help with boxes. The cashier (who I am so tempted to call out by name but I won't because I feel like that's just fighting fire with fire), in a rude and unkind tone, said "you have to go over there and get them" which I had no problem with so I went over to get some and I came back and she looks at me in the eyes and says there's just so much stuff that you bought. Can you please just keep it moving so I have room to put your other things? The other person helping load up the cart was really kind (thank you José!) and was trying to help me figure it all out, but the cashier woman kept making rude comments , it was odd. I've never experienced that from a Costco employee before. Typically, they're so warm and so kind. So as I'm loading up my cart, she's also putting stuff in my cart, but is putting really heavy things on top of bread items, and fragile fruit, it didn't even make sense. Costco.. When we were in UK we bought all sorts of things from costco including this super huge Intex swimming pool. So naturally when we move to Boston, we immediately look up for the nearest costco. I have to say the savings compared to the price elsewhere is massive. Carnation evaporated milk average to $1 a can when I have been buying it for at least $2 in our first two weeks here in Boston. We bought 2 pillows for $10 last week at this affordable high street store but today we just had to buy another 2. Still $10 but the quality is oh so different. We walked through every single aisles of costco and went on and on with our oohhs!! and whatt?? when comparing with the price we have been paying. And there were so many food sampling today. Maybe because it is Saturday? Not sure. Salmon, chicken, cheese sticks.. too bad we didn't see any juice sampling. Otherwise it would be perfect. We didn't buy a lot this time since I just did my grocery shopping yesterday at walmart and I thought that was already a steal. Anyway on our way out, we stopped to buy one whole cheese pizza. We gobbled it in no time. Even my daughter who is not a big fan of pizza couldn't resist it. Plus the free refill drinks. I don't remember costco UK have this refill drinks. But the cheese pizza. It is delicious!. My 14 year old son gave it 'the best pizza so far' award. So, I take it you really enjoyed your slice, son? On our way out, while my husband went to get the car, we saw something we haven't seen before. A recycling machine. This guy was putting lots of plastic bottles inside the machine and looks like he is getting paid for recycling. Not sure how it works but I'm going to bring some empty bottles in my next trip and give it a go. It was snowing today, so we quickly load our things in the car. When we got back, we realised we have left our $10 Orange Juice in the trolley. Devastated!. So looking forward to drink it iced cold. So there you go. My advise, if you haven't been to Costco, give it a try. Go round and see if they have the things that you would normally buy in bulk. If there are, it is definitely the place to go. I used to be a huge fan of Costco. For the past 7 or 8 years I have not lived close enough to one to make having a membership worth it. However, since the pandemic I have been contemplating getting a membership and just dealing with the 50 min drive in order to purchase some essentials in bulk. Last night I accompanied my daughter to the Costco in Everett where I used to shop when I lived in the area. I was so disappointed. The place was dirty, most of the items I was looking for were not in stock. I get that some Costco's may have things that other Costcos dont, so I will give them a pass on that, but what I can not deal with is RUDE staff.... I could barely read her name tag...Stephanie, Stacy.. or something like that jumped on us in the self checkout....as my daughter and I tried to figure out how we would pay for her order. She was using an EBT card for one part of her order and I was paying for some of her items that included things that would not be covered by her EBT card. The first problem was that they dont accept AMEX, so I had to go to the ATM and get cash. Then she cornered us and spoke to us in a condescending tone like we were a couple of criminals asking us what was the problem... I told her that we were separating the things that I was going to pay for..."oh no!, you can't do that!' she bellowed... "you can take it to another register and they can subtotal it!' ..."What? What does that mean?" she said it like 3x.... "You can not use the membership twice!"...she barked... and maybe thats true...I'm not sure. I can understand what they are trying to prevent, but what she next floored me... What you have to do is let her pay with the EBT and then you reimburse her with cash...lol. Im thinking, she CAN'T be serious....That is illegal !!!.... Not only that, if I am correct I could have just paid for the items I wanted to buy her as a non-member with a 5% mark up, I believe ... or at least that is what it used to be. In the end we discarded some things and she paid for what she could. Which is a shame since she paid for the membership and they would not let me, her mother, help her. We are not talking big money, maybe $30or so... but because of that I will NOT be getting a Costco membership for myself and my daughter will not be renewing hers either. We are heading off to SAM's Club. Funny thing is, the more people I told this story to the more people I had agree with me that Costco HAS indeed gone downhill over the past 5 years. Would not recommend getting the plants, most are already dying when you bring them home. The liquor selection is large and in the middle of the store. I went here to get a membership on Saturday and the man at the counter tried SO HARD to make me get the more expensive option. I know what I went in for (the basic $60 membership). I arrived and stood with my return (fireproof safe I had in a cart) below the sign that says "merchandise returns". I waited about 10 minutes while 3 other groups of customers stood behind me in line. I noticed three other groups of customers line up in front of the membership sign. I figured they were there for membership issues, but it looked an awful lot like they were returning items. And I was right. That's when I learned the return staff at Costco matches the Masshole-ry of many of the customers I've encountered at this store. (Once, I went to get an empty cart near the entrance close to closing time on a weekday night when the place was nearly empty, and a guy yelled that was HIS cart. He followed me around the store and made rude comments, even though I let him take the cart that was sitting next to hundreds of other empty ones.) I asked the cashier in front of me (within arm's reach) if I was standing in the right place for a return. She told me there was only one line and I was standing in the wrong place. I asked her why she hadn't told me that when I arrived or some other time in the prior 10 minutes, and she told me she had been very busy. (Indeed, she was - she and the other cashier were working very hard on a return of perhaps 20 bottles of vitamins the entire time and the computer did not appear to be cooperating, even when 2 people stared at it.) So, I got in line near the membership sign instead behind two groups of customers who had arrived well after I did. (Apparently membership is not even at this desk despite the giant sign. Instead, it is inside the store entrance, not even within sight of this desk. God help you if you are looking for membership!) Around that time, the front end supervisor arrived. I asked her why the lines were so confusing. She said that she had been asking her manager(s) to move the signs for months and it hadn't been done. She was frustrated. At this point, there were perhaps 8-10 groups of looking to return items, and they were lined up all over the place. I suggested that she help people figure out where to stand, and to her credit, she did. (But within a few minutes, people started following the signs again and were lined up in the wrong place.) This is the area of the store where there were two people checking receipts of people who are leaving, to make sure you didn't steal anything in the alley without any goods in it between the cash registers and the door. They noticed the mess of people waiting around and did absolutely nothing to help direct traffic. At last, I made it to the front of the line. A woman in a blazer (blonde hair in the photo) without a name tag helped me. She was completely non-verbal. I handed her my receipt and stood there with the safe in my cart. She then stuck her hand out at me again. After asking what she wanted, she requested my membership card. It felt to me like she was struggling to even ask that simple question and that sticking her hand at me would suffice. She then asked what was in the box. I told her it was the safe that was the single item on the receipt she was looking at. She reached over the counter and tried to open the flaps of the box. I helped her. (I also would have been glad to move the cart over to where she could reach it, but she didn't ask.) She stood on her tip toes and rapped on the safe inside, perhaps checking that it was made out of metal. She didn't check anything else. "You want this back on your card?" she asked. I did want it back on my card. She handed me a receipt and that was it. No more or less talking. Meanwhile, I noticed the line forming again in front of the "merchandise returns" sign, and the same cashier who told me that I was not standing in the proper single line for returns started helping people who were waiting in that new line. When I was there with a line behind me, she didn't offer to help me out. So, in addition to the cluster of not knowing where to actually go to return my item, I had to have a Masshole of a woman interact with me. She was in a nasty mood and clearly did not want to be helping shlubs like me. All in all, 18 minutes of waiting for a transaction that ultimately took about a minute to finish up. (Granted, some others cut ahead of me in line and had shorter waits.) (Oh, and as I was checking out with stuff I purchased, I saw a new line opening up, which was sorely needed. But the manager - Antonio I think - who set up the cashier apparently walked the cashier over, took away her trash can that she needed, and walked away without fully getting the cashier set up. She looked at him like, "huh?" and was asking him to come back, but he simply walked away and she wasn't able to open her line. WTF.) read more

I enjoy going to Costco. Less people than BJ's and I don't need to be carrying around coupons! If it's on sale, Costco will display it on their sign/prices. Due to COVID lines are a lot longer than usual, but I'm okay with that because I go in and get what I need and leave, NBD. I found everything I needed and was sent to a specific cashier and register.. I helped the cashier (Jennifer G) out by putting everything I can on the belt. I was using a different form of payment for a couple items and I asked for a separate receipt/transaction. Cashiers done it before, here at Costco and at other places, so I didn't think it was a big deal.. but apparently it was. The "bagger," (which I caught her name) said thats fine when I asked her at first. Jennifer scanned the items and then stopped, but then started scanning everything else. I kindly asked if she can take the extra stuff she scanned off and she said, "I already said you can't do that! It has to go on the same receipt, she already told you that!" She was very rude and clearly did not care. I told her that's not what the bagger told me. The bagger came over and said it'll be on the same receipt but with a different subtotal. She explained that normally it can be done. I really appreciate the bagger explaining this to me, like I expressed to her. But Jennifer G needs to go stock or something. Absolutely love Costco! My husband and I have been coming to Costco for years in the various cities we've in. They have a huge selection from food, home items, electronics, alcohol, medicine and more. Costco has their own brand called Kirkland which is amazing. This location offers a tire center, but not a gas station. The staff are professional, however they do make unprofessional comments if you are there around closing. I have never had that encounter before and was quite shocked. I understand if someone lingers since it is closing time, however do not make unprofessional comments and tell people to get out. read more

I used to be a major Costco fan but I am continuously getting less and less so for the following reasons. -In the Boston area, Market Basket pricing on most items is competitive with Costco without requiring me to store ridiculously large quantities of stuff in my small apartment or buy a paid membership. -The rental car discounts are nice but I can get the same discount through USAA. -This location took over two hours to do the so called "free" tire rotation. It is not a "free" tire rotation. It is a service that I paid for as part of the original price of the tires I bought from a Costco. I keep my Costco membership only because the person who I has my second executive membership card spends a tremendous amount of money. The 2% rebate I get covers the cost of membership. The first year that doesn't happen, my membership will be cancelled. This year I didn't even have anything I wanted to spend the rebate certificate on so I went to the customer service counter and got cash. read more

I need to print massive color pages for my projects. I buy my HP 8500 series printer ink in bulk for about $99. It costs that much for 2 separate inks at Staples. I also buy all of electronics here- TV's, Printers (I have 3) and the 3 pack scan disks. 2)Value pack of sports bras. We ladies can never have enough in all the pretty colors! 3)Food/snacks! Great for buying for work or school functions or stocking up in bulk items for your own house. They have a better, fresher selection of groceries than BJ's does. 4)Magazines are cheaper. I never have time to read them once I buy them but I love that they're cheaper than CVS, Barnes & Noble, etc. 5)Free samples. Consume enough of these hot, tasty treats and you won't have to worry about dinner that night. Yes... I'm writing a review for Costco because I experienced exceptional service this weekend. All my friends know my love for Costco. I'm not the biggest fan of this one because it can get crowded. I prefer the Avon one, but anyway-- I was at self checkout and Yessica was SUPER SUPER helpful. First she helped me with my pineapple that had no label. We had a lot of stuff and things were getting stuck on the belt. She helped me move my items off the belt quickly (otherwise it would make you rescan the items). Then she punched in the numbers for my case of water, so I wouldn't have to pick it up. She was so nice and friendly! I LOVE Costco in general, but for this particular store the selection was just okay. It is smaller compared to some of the other Costco warehouses that I have been to. What annoyed me the most was customer service. I was looking to get a new card because I had lost mine, so I showed them my digital card with my picture and everything as proof. I was "helped" by Deb, who rudely asked why I needed a physical card. I'm sorry - do I not PAY for a membership card? I told her that I need the physical card to use at Costco gas stations because I know that the gas stations do not accept digital membership cards. In addition to explaining that to her, I also read out loud the notice on the digital membership card, which reads: "Your digital membership card cannot be used at Costco gas stations or food courts at this time". Deb's only response as she looked me dead in the eye: "well you don't even need a card to use at the food court". Like okay? I am not the one who wrote this disclaimer I am merely just reinterring my point that I need a physical card for the gas station... Overall, I felt like she felt that I was scamming her for an additional card (which I obviously wasn't) but she came off as super rude and not willing to help. read more

I have been a member since 2005 and sent my daughter to go shopping for me one night and Mary, one of the cashiers, was so unbelievably rude to my daughter because my card was apparently expired. It had only been expired for 2 weeks and the manager wouldn't let her purchase anything until it was paid. I was on vacation and wasn't able to pay the fee till I was back home. I understand there are rules but the way Mary handled it was extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate during the holiday season. My daughter said she was almost in tears and couldn't believe what an attitude that woman had. The manager Bailey wasn't any better and was also rude. Costco is usually the first place that I check when looking for a big ticket item such as a TV or a camera (I got both of those here) but the value on everyday items usually cannot be beat! 3lbs of gourmet coffee for $13.49! A flat of mangoes for $7.99! 24 cans of Sunkist for $6.49! They really do have everything- electronics, appliances, paper goods, cleaners, bath and beauty, a pharmacy, optometrist, mattresses, fruit, veggies, books, clothes, shoes.... WHEW! Some of the things I always go back for are the coffee, granola bars, cakes (sheet cakes are so cheap, made fresh, delicious and decorated beautifully-try the carrot with apricot filling), dog beds ($17.99 and huge!) and dog treats. If you are thinking "who needs 30 rolls of Charmin!" consider splitting your membership! You can have 2 names on an individual membership (more on a business one) making it only $25 each. Or you can go together and share that Charmin! I split the box of 50 microwave bags of popcorn with a friend all the time. Stop by the snack bar too- I have tried just about everything and recommend it all. Where else can you get a huge all beef hotdog and a soda for $1.50??? That is, if you aren't full from all the samples! A few things to note: - They don't take Visa or Mastercard, but will take debit. If you can, get their Amex, it gives back great rewards. -They are really good about returns no matter what. I once took back a bottle of wine (not available in MA, this was in San Diego) because I didn't like it. -Bring your reusable bags because the don't have any. They have boxes, but not always appropriate sizes. -Go down EVERY aisle and be prepared to be there a long time. This place is an experience, you never know what you will find. -If you like it, BUY it! Some inventory rotates all the time.You'll cry if you go back and the item is gone. I have before! Being non-insured (shhhhhhhh don't tell the government that any time after July 1st!) Costco's was the best discovery for me. I'd been using CVS to fill my prescriptions until the fateful day I was informed that one particular med I'd been switched to would cost me $170, and that was with my AAA discount included. For something that needs to be re-filled monthly, that just wasn't going to happen. My mom is a therapist and a couple different patients of hers had mentioned that you could get meds filled at Costco for a lot less. I wasn't thrilled with changing where I had to go from a pharmacy literally outside the door of my work to Everett, but I figured I'd check it out. The prescription that was $170 at CVS? Ended up being $30 at Costco. And it was filled within 20 minutes for me, while I just killed some time walking through the store, trying out the samplers. For anyone who is without insurance, I highly recommend Costco as an alternative to CVS and Brooks. read more
