Avocado toast and bacon
Scott V.

Had the Avocado toast with a nice glass of dry Venetian Italian San Benedetto Lugana DOC white wine and added bacon of course! Fresh and tasty! Nice outdoor covered seating on a cloudy and partly rainy day.

Toscana plate

There used to be a cafe with a different name in the past here and, I think, this place has only been open for a month or two. The interior here is chic and elegant and they have done a great job of it. There is also a fair bit of outdoor seating for warmer days. It's a mix of a cafe / bakery / providore, a concept that seems to be around Central Europe a lot. The menu is varied and there is a handful of warm items and a selection of breakfast and salads. The drinks list is also quite ok. They have Flammkuchen and some mezze plates that can be shared. I decided to try one of the mezze plates called the Toscana which came with cheeses, cold cuts and a tiny bit of salad and, a bread basket. I asked the waitress if the melon spritz was made from watermelon and she said yes. When it arrived it was a cantaloupe spritz and I did not like it at all. It tasted like some synthetic flavour had been added to the spritz. My Toscana plate was ok and too much cheese and not enough cold cuts if you ask me ;-)) Service was very slow to start and they completely ignored all of us in the front tables for a while. It got better after a while. There is really nothing special about this place and I will probably drop in once in a while for a coffee or drink and give it another go.

Liked the place and the atmosphere there in the morning, food n staff were nice. Note; prefered if the tea was warmer.

Great location and food / coffee. Service was great too but parking is horrible like everywhere in the city.

We got the breakfast for two which was more than enough food, could have honestly served 3 people. Service was relatively quick and the waiters were very nice. I recommend reserving a table as it was full when we got there and we wouldn't have been able to get a table if we hadn't reserved ahead of time. Overall great authentic German meat & cheese breakfast and I would definitely go again.

Case in point, their burgers are named after two of the most esteemed Olympians, Wim Ruska and Mark Spitz, and their logo is of the Olympiapark. Enough dry facts...onto the review. We came for brunch on a Sunday afternoon as a group of 7 and managed to get a table outside quite easily. Service was decent and quick, and ordering was easy (for breakfast items, one can fill out a menu sheet). We tried all three of their burgers: Shanes Love (vegan burger), Giant Wim Ruska (cheese burger), and Mark Spitz Wonder (bacon/mushroom cheese burger). The portions were big, and the burgers were tasty. The potato wedges were also a highlight for me; nicely seasoned and not over-fried. My friends ordered the "Veganer Trio" with couscous, avocado salad with soy yogurt dip, etc., and they love the dish, well-seasoned and also a decent portion. We saw the kitchen as it was near the bathroom and have to say it didn't look hygienic. Hopefully, it's just the looks.
