Extremely rude and outright abusive when I brought the pizza back because all of the toppings were burnt. They were unwilling to make another pizza and also refused to provide a refund. This place is not how I remember it. I'm not sure if there has been a change in management, but the experience was completely different from what it used to be. The person at the front was extremely unpleasant and treated customers terribly. It's sad to see a neighborhood restaurant decline to this point. This used to be a great place for quality and consistency. Once it moved from the location behind 7 11 it fell off a lot. We eventually moved out other pizza places. We heard they had new owners so we decided to give it a chance again. Ordered an ultimate pepperoni and sadly nothing was ultimate about it. Maybe 3 pepperoni on each slice. It's was fine but for $23 it should have more toppings than a hot n ready. Just very bland and basic pizza. read more

How did I miss that calzones are available from this location? While I'm always counting my carbs, I think I would make room for that. Instead, I ordered the 14" pizza, topped with my faves: pineapple, pepperoni, and sausage. I even splurged on the diced tomatoes. After it baked, the crust was doused in a garlic butter-Parmesan sauce. So how was the pizza? Average. The toppings were okay, but less than other places. The sauce was bland, barely contributing to the overall flavors, and the texture of the crust wasn't to my taste - and I pretty much enjoy everything from Buddy's Detroit-style thick crusts to Bigalora thin crusts. I should have gone with the calzones. The restaurant is located in a strip mall right behind a garage station. I have always LOVED Cottage Inn,, until I happened into this one to carry out a calzone special for lunch. How something made to order could taste so warmed over I don't know. Less than a mile back to my office, and the calzone was barely warm. Ingredients were skimpy at best, and the bacon I ordered never made it into the calzone at all. Taste of what was there was meh. The previous store was farther away-- but I stuck by them because of really great experiences up until the fateful one. The Novi store is practically down the street. Now, I will never go any place else again. I'm telling you: just let them know how you want it specifically & IF you have a problem with how it was made or ANY other issue, CALL, let them know and given the opportunity to satisfy, they go ABOVE & BEYOND to make it right, PERIOD. Right when I walked in I knew that the owners had changed. The walls were dirty. The floors were dirty, the counter was cluttered with random junk and filthy. There was a box (cardboard) that they were using as a trash can. Gross. I'm so disappointed. Another business falls into the hands of individuals that are dirty, unorganized and lazy. After waiting over 20 minutes, they realized they gave our order to the delivery guy. So then we had to wait another 10 mins for him to drive back to hand us our order. I really just wanted the breadsticks but wanted to take the chance at trying a different pizza than I normally get and also wanted to try one of their subs. It was worth it. Never ordered from here before today. Took a chance and bought a 12 inch motor city meatball sub. Picked up the sub after paying $11.65 and drove home. I cut the sub in half and gave one piece to my lovely wife and I started eating the other half. Nice Cottage Inn Pizza Staff. Went here on the grand opening day, and even though it was busy, they got me ordered and done in ten minutes. I am also shocked they would take on a spot that's two doors down from Dominos Pizza. It will put the two Michigan based companies against each other. I like Cottage Inn Pizza because it's so cheesy and good. The issue is, they don't do a flavored crust. So the crust is super dry. Don't worry, just drown the pizza in Ranch. This is by far this WORST place EVER.! Please stay far far away from this place Cottage Inn on 10 mile in Novi inside the shopping center two doors down from Domino's. Not only are they rude but the owner who wears baggy, dirty clothes and curse like a sailor will Try to RIP YOU OFF. The police literally had to be called for them the give my money that they took and refused to give back. Even told me they couldn't pull up the transactions and to get out of their store. Only for them to try and offer the money to me ONCE the police arrived. He lied and told them on the phone oh we have someone up we need serious back up this person is going to be a problem ( because I was black ). Extremely not happy with Cottage Inn. Ordered went into pick up and was told it would be a few more minutes. Mind you I was told 15 to 20 minuets and I got there We'll after 20. After waiting standing there I was forgotten about until another employee asked what I was waiting for. When the original employee saw me and remembered that I was still waiting she grabbed my pizza off of the warming rack, it had been done from the moment I was in the store. Also ordered a salad because we like the ranch, the picture says it all. Three pieces of salami and garbage fat free packaged dressing pretty much sealed the deal on my next pizza decision. Since my review I was contacted by the owner, she gave a gracious apology and explained that they have added new staff members recently and with that some mistakes were made. Manager was on his phone while making food. Kept picking it up and texting then touching food. Set the phone on stainless steel where food is prep. Then he put it in his Pocket no washing of hands. Then when I asked him to give me a new box he got an attitude and told me I do the same thing at my house. This will be the last time ordering from this location. What is the point of paying the ridiculous price for delivery if they are not going to deliver to the door. Driver shows up and calls from the front of hotel to say that they are outside and I can come get my order. I'm not talking just the inconvenience of having to pick the order up at the front desk no I have to leave the front of the hotel and get my order from the driver that is still sitting in their car. This is unacceptable when I pay the delivery fee I would expect it to be delivered to the hotel room and be told that I forgot to fill out the tip once I have signed the receipt. Needless to say I will be watching the credit card statement to make sure there is not any extra added to my bill. read more

Talked to one of the younger guys in there and he told me that they had moved from across the street, and Im glad they did because now Ive got a new pizza spot! When you walk in the staff almost greets you at the register with the GOOD attitude and a smile. They always have specials to choose from that are exclusive to the location. I'm a very regular customer at cottage Inn pizzeria. This past time I got the pizza there was something unusually different with the sauce. I don't like the complain about things, but this was truly disappointing to me. Next time I order from the pizzeria won't be for awhile. This is nothing to do with The staff really more like the management. I placed a delivery order on Yelp. Then a woman from cottage Inn called because the item I had ordered was something she had never seen. (It's was new and was never informed) so still not a big deal. She said times were running 50to 60 minuets. Still fine. About and hour and 45 minuets later my order gets here. The everything sticks were soggy. The BLT pizza was just dough cheese and some bacon and the 12.00 antipasto salad was a small container of lettuce, yup just lettuce. She did apologize for the wait because I guess she was the only worked there and had to close the store to deliver, it if I was informed I would have gone somewhere else or just picked it up. Long story short another was of 35.00. These companies need to up their staff morale and staff the places better. Happy employee made happy customers who return. Which I will not. Cottage Inn Pizza has the most bland crust. I haven't eaten cardboard, but that's what I compare it to. Their crust is absolutely tasteless with a hard, chewy texture. If you're going to be bad and eat pizza, then make it count and eat something good. I've had CIP a few times throughout the years (free from work), always with the same horrible crust. read more

First experience I had here was great, delivery was prompt, food hot and delicious. But my last two visits were pretty lackluster. Second time I got delivery, took over 1.5 hours and didn't realize until next day, delivery person left garbage from subway in my drive way. Plus food was lukewarm. This past experience, I ordered delivery for a group of friends day after Christmas. Called and put on hold for a minute. Man came back and put me on hold again to take another call. Ordered and delivered when said. When I looked at what delivery guy gave me, only got small salad instead of large and guy said he would comp me when he got back. He also almost forgot to give me my wings until I said something. I open the rest of the order and the other salad I ordered didn't have the chicken I paid extra for and had some onions in it when I said no onions. My friend couldn't eat it bc she was allergic. I call the store to tell them and man on phone goes well what do you want me to do about it. I pretty much gave up on cottage inn once he said that so I said to comp me for next visit.
