It's a better playground for the younger kids with swings that have the full bucket baby seats instead of belt seats and spring riders. It also has two slides. There is a paved path throughout the park that loops. It is a great place to come to run or walk your dog. It surrounds a large field that provides space for all sorts of activities. It has a great view of the mountains over DTC as well.

Anytime of day or evening one can find people out there walking their dogs, stretching their legs, or just passing through. When it snows, there is a hill that is very popular with the kids for sledding. Nothing too dangerous, but they seem to have a good time. They do a reasonable job of picking up the trash here. They almost always have dog bags available on the east end of the park. This is the end of the park which is bisected by a neighborhood street. This basically divides The park into the larger 80%, which is west of the road, and smaller 20%, with playground, which is east of the road. I really enjoy this park, and I am lucky to live near one this accessible and nice. Just to the north, is sagebrush elementary school, which has a soccer field.

Whoa, this place rocks! They have a couple coveted pavilions if you went to sit ( I opted to have lunch here) along with a nice walking trail that will take you over to Lincoln. You can walk to Sprouts, Mad Greens and Schwab and more! Props to having street parking that makes it easy to get in and out! Only bad thing about place? Best way to unplug and enjoy the community park. Gwen is such an awesome instructor and plenty of space for yogis to stretch out and savasana. Important things: There are "regulars" (humans) who tend to gather in the middle area to chat which can mean they are not watching their dogs closely. Always pick up your dogs poop! There are plenty of trash cans and poop bags throughout the park. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the park, make sure your a dog is leashed the whole time. Heritage Regional Park is extremely busy in the summer (hundreds of soccer games every weekend) parking lot may be full.

However, it is sadly extremely common for people to bring unneutered and poorly mannered male dogs, who want to hump everything in sight. Since this is my go-to spot when crunched for time, I have seen a tremendous number of nearly-horrible situations, mostly caused by owners who haven't spent the time socializing or training their dogs. There is also an issue of mud. Forget about coming here when the snow is melting or after a rain. It is MUDDY. The dog park is sloped and the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, and so a lot of the water collects there. There is also no grass or gravel. All in all, it's a decent place to go, but I prefer Glendale open space because there is more room for the dogs to spread out, it's normally much drier even after the snow melts, and has a real walking path.

Parking for cars would either be on Uinta or Davies streets and by the Little Dry Creek trail for pedestrians and cyclists which runs directly in the middle of the park. This is mainly a neighborhood park with only a small playground, pavilion and grassy field. But it does have a big climbing rock. Sadly the trail abruptly stops at Yosemite street but a nice park overall.

It's a short but challenging climb with about 140 steps and rewarding, beautiful views overlooking the reservoir and surrounding hills. A great spot if you want a mini incline experience without driving to Manitou Springs. Plenty of free parking. Restrooms are portable potties. Dogs need to be leased when on the trail. Signs said no dogs on the actual incline itself.

Willow Spring Open Space is a convenient and beautiful outdoor opportunity for walking, biking,…read moreleashed dog-walking, and horse-riding (bring your own horse). The paths are concrete and/or gravel, there are benches for rest opportunities, and there are doggie bag receptacles so owners can pick up after their pets. This large space is surrounded by residential communities and roadways, but I felt like I was in my own little world while walking. According to signage at the park, the trail is open from 6am to 11pm. Willow Spring Open Space is also the home of the Englewood Dam (an earthen embankment dam used for flood control) and there is a service center on site for regular maintenance. As a visitor to the area, I walked the trail here a few times and found the area to be incredibly photogenic and easy to follow. It should be noted that signage on the trail indicates coyotes are active in the area. When I inquired about this to locals, they confirmed this is true, but that during daylight hours, they rarely come out of their dens unless they are sick. However, caution should be used during dawn/dusk/dark. Enjoy!

Preservation park is nice because it's used to preserve the wild and open spaces in an area that…read morewould otherwise be over taken by urban sprawl. This park is also used as a trailhead for the southern end of the Cherry Creek Trail. Further into the trail this area is used as a historical land marker to mark one of the first houses and farms built in the area. It's nice to come here and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the area.
