So after calling everybody in the neighborhood and then some, I decided to bite the billet and go with Piepho. They came out to our house, looked everything over and then gave us a quote. Ok, so far so good, and reasonably priced. I was still skeptic! We agreed to the quote and moved forward. Now it's moving day.... The truck, which was new and clean, showed up right on time- 8:30 on the dot. These guys got out and went to work. Literally poetry in motion. The 3 guys were fast, courteous and very professional. I was astonished. They went above and beyond and everything went better than expected. These guys were in and out within 4 house. Wow! Is all I can say. Thanks guys!

Piepho/Allied Onalaska Move: A Trucking Nightmare…read more "Professional" Movers Did So Much Damage We Can't Believe it was Accidental Please check out the included pictures to see just how your furniture, floors and walls will look if you use this moving company. We used Piepho for a multi-part move from the Kansas City area to La Crosse, WI with the bulk of our things going into storage at Piepho's Onalaska facility in July 2020. We moved some furniture into an apartment while we waited for our house to be built. We moved out of the apartment on June 29, and the apartment furnishings went into storage as we moved to a motel. On July 28 we were ready to move, but Piepho's Onalaska staff wasn't. They couldn't deliver our things until August 17. We were in our house three weeks without furniture. Of course, we were still charged for the 3+ weeks of storage. The people who moved our things from the apartment into storage [and/or out of it] did so much damage that it's difficult to believe it was accidental. Some of the Highlights: · Our Crate and Barrel couch [less than 2 years old] had a hole punched in the side that stuffing is coming out of. It is so dirty, scuffed and marked up that it looks like it was used at a frat house. · There is some kind of dark brown stain on our IKEA laundry cabinet, so presumably someone used it for a work bench while it was in storage. · Both our dressers, which were with us at the apartment had their drawers removed and were so badly twisted and damaged that they won't close properly. · Our dining room buffet was coated with some kind of oily filth while in storage. · There was so much damage to the TV wall unit that it was too unstable to use. · The support platforms for our queen bed never showed up. We had them at the apartment. When I followed up with our Customer Service Manager to see if they might have turned up and to express amazement that two 3x4' pieces of Masionite had been lost, I was told that the best thing I could do was add them to the claim, which was neither customer focused or helpful. · At the end of the grueling nine-hour delivery day we signed a statement saying that the movers hadn't done any damage to the house. We hadn't noticed anything major. We regret not doing a through walk through, because over the next couple of days we discovered significant scratching and gouging to our brand new hard wood floors. Other damage included: · At least two wooden tables, a tea cart, a potting bench and a porch bench had their frames or legs wrenched apart or sheared off · If it had a knob or caster or handle or any protrusion of any sort, at least one was either sheared off, broken or lost. This included a copper handle from my grandmother's cedar chest. · And, finally, please note the filthy hand print on our wall, one of many left by Piepho's Onalaska movers. We trusted Piepho with safely moving and storing our things, a trust that was obviously misplaced.

Yesterday I made a call to them to see if there was any chance one of the workers could come and realign the top half of our entertainment center they moved. There were no questions asked and they came today already to do the job. I really never thought they would do this because of the time frame involved. They also helped with getting the TV cords place properly. Mike, Lee and Rowan were very kind, polite and professional in doing this for us. I again, would highly recommend Two Men and a Truck for the quality and service they provide. They went above and beyond what I ever expected after I made this call for help.

Consumer alert!! As many of you know, I moved towards the beginning of November in La Crescent,…read moreMN. This was a big move, so I received a few different quotes and ultimately chose TWO MEN AND A TRUCK as the movers. Worse mistake of my life....here is why: * Despite my warning them numerous times about underestimating the move, they did just that. It took 5 hours longer than they thought, needed more trucks and guys and ended up costing double what they quoted. During the estimate meeting, I even told them not to underbid and showed them every closet, every storage room and said this is a 3400 square foot house that is full...plan for it. Nope...they did not. * They broke a glass shelf in a large glass curio cabinet during the move. Had me fill out the paperwork and said they would get it replaced and handled. Two months later and still nothing. * They broke a TV because they did not wrap any of the tvs despite being asked multiple times to do so. They were to pay me for that. Two months later and still nothing. Every time I contact them, I get the 'oh we are so sorry...we are working on it'. When I complain about the cost doubling 'that is just what can happen with estimates'. So, my word of advice. Do NOT trust TWO MEN AND A TRUCK!!!

When everything was on the truck we were told there was 22,000 pounds of "stuff" that we were moving!! That's 11 TONS! The move took place over three days; Day 1, pack, Day 2, load and drive to Illinois, Day 3, unload. Throughout the three days, all the people involved in the process were friendly, courteous, and conscientious. After unloading the truck, they carefully reassembled items that had to be broken down for packing including our 150-year-old grandfather's clock. If you are looking for professional, reliable movers, give Chaz Moving a call. They're terrific.

When the day came to actually get packed and moved it was anything but. It was supposed to be a 2 day job, that turned into 3 days. On the first day 3 people showed up, 4 HOURS LATE. Only 1 of them worked the other 2 that showed up slept in the truck for 2 hours or so before they even lifted a finger. The 2 people that were sleeping in the truck, The OWNER AND HIS WIFE. When they finally all started working they took a break about every 30 minutes meanwhile charging us by the hour. A couple other people showed up and one of them needed to use the restroom, I'm fine with that, when you gotta go you gotta go. But he was nice enough to clog the toilet with what looked like about a half a roll of toilet paper and didn't say anything about it. The toilet ran all night and flooded the bathroom which leaked through the floor into the laundry room and resulted in the ceiling getting damaged and had to be repaired 3 days before closing on the house. They packed numerous things we told them not to that needed to stay with the house, and didn't load everything that needed to go. They loaded the table top but not the legs, only loaded 2 out of 4 of the patio chairs, and multiple delicate and fragile things showed up on the other end damaged. My daughter had a white board that wouldn't fit in the box they were trying to put it in so they FOLDED IT IN HALF. We had a some copper stamped artwork from Africa that was ROLLED up. Every box I open I find more and more things damaged from careless packing. Chaz kept telling us he was the best, and he is. THE BEST AT WRECKING YOUR BELONGINGS. I will never use them again and I would not recommend them to anyone.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This was one…read moreof the most unprofessional, poorly organized, and frustrating moving experiences I have ever had. I have hired movers in the past who were professional, efficient, prepared, and careful with my belongings. This company was the complete opposite. Patty personally did a walkthrough of my home one week before the move, so she knew exactly what she was being hired to do. We had an agreement that her company would pack and move my upstairs, my bedroom, and my garage, while I would handle the rest. I also personally moved my bed, kitchen table, living room furniture, and all of my grills before they even got started. Despite that, I still ended up having to help them pack while I was there with them. I hired movers specifically because I needed help with this move, not because I wanted to spend the day doing the work alongside them. Patty was also aware of my health issues and the reason I needed to hire movers in the first place. Unfortunately, this move was so poorly handled that the physical demands and stress of it set my health back. I should never have been put in the position of having to do this much of the work myself after hiring a company to handle it. I was given a 2-3 hour timeframe. Instead, the move took approximately 10 hours to finally complete. Despite having walked through the house a week beforehand, they showed up without an appliance dolly, even though they knew they were moving my washer and dryer. They didn't even have a packing tape gun. For a moving company, showing up without basic equipment needed for a job they had already inspected is simply unacceptable. The first movers were young and clearly inexperienced. One of the boys lost control of the dolly/cart and sent boxes into my yard. My belongings were damaged. I also found cigarette butts left on a shelf in my living room. The truck was packed so poorly that another mover actually commented on how incorrectly it had been packed. My safe was transported laying on its side, and the shelving inside the safe was destroyed. Then, while the move was still underway, one of the boys mentioned that Patty had somewhere she needed to be at 5:00. Around 4:30, one of the boys suddenly had an "emergency," and they left. Patty offered to put the truck into her shop and resume the move later. I said no. I expected her to find and recruit people who could unload my belongings that night. Instead, I was told they couldn't resume unloading until 7:00 PM. Eventually, unloading resumed with one mover alone for approximately an hour. Then three additional men were brought in from over an hour away to help finish. I had not been informed ahead of time that additional people would be coming. And then there was the issue of what they actually moved. The mover repeatedly complained that she was "only there to move my clothes." Yet when I had to go back through my belongings afterward, my clothes were left behind. The company failed to remove so much of my property that I had to recruit people myself the following day to finish getting my belongings out of my home. I ended up packing and moving more of my own belongings than the moving company did. Think about that. I hired a moving company, had already moved my bed, kitchen table, living room furniture, and all of my grills myself, helped their crew pack, and still had to find my own people the next day to finish getting my belongings out. And after all of that, the billing became another issue. The invoice was changed multiple times, and the explanations for the charges changed as well. I've had movers in the past who made moving day easier. This company made it dramatically harder. A professional moving company should arrive prepared, bring the proper equipment, have enough competent people to do the job, handle belongings with care, complete the work they agreed to perform, and respect the customer's time and circumstances. Instead, I spent 10 hours dealing with an incredibly disorganized move, had my belongings damaged, had to help pack, had to do substantial moving myself, had belongings left behind, and then had to recruit my own people the next day to finish the job. This move was physically and emotionally exhausting, and it set my health back. I hired this company because I needed professional help. I did not hire them so that I could end up doing much of the work myself and then spend the following day finding people to finish what they failed to do. I would never use this company again. If you are considering hiring them, I strongly recommend you think very carefully before trusting them with your home, your belongings, or your time. I would never hire these people again or recommend them. Not even to pick up dog shit.
