    Maple Spice Latte
    Jake H.

Cool little coffee shop inside of Asher Adam's hotel lobby. They have unique chocolates and local treats along with a good selection of drinks. I got the seasonal maple spice latte, it was good but a little on the pricier side. Staff were friendly & nice.

Clean and modern ambiance. I got a medium pumpkin spice latte w/ almond milk (~$8). It was good, but nothing special. Service was okay. Kinda pricey for what you get.

Sometimes you don't need a break, just a cookie and a coffee. Counterpart is that break from work "treat yourself" stop where everything is too pretty, too curated, and yes, too expensive, but somehow exactly what you needed. The cookie was moist and sweet and the coffee was strong enough to cancel my next meeting.

    Iced Surprise

Always love my Counterpart "surprises!" I'm too indecisive to make my own drink decisions.... so I just tell the amazing baristas if I want something hot or cold, and they do the rest. And they NEVER disappoint! Thank you, Savanna, Alise, Jordan, Luis!

My mouth is watering as I write this overdue review. Caputo's was a must-stop for us on our way out…read moreof SLC, and I really wish we had something small and family-run like this in CA. The closest store I can think of that has such a wide selection of meats and cheeses is Eataly, but that is huge (and a chain) compared to Caputo's. Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!

The sandwiches are smaller, more expensive , less variety and the service was SLOW. It was 11:30 am and no lines, about 10 patrons in the whole place. Shocked to see no heavy inch traffic . I had a serving of tuna salad ($9) which was ok and $5 cheaper than a sandwich ($13). Hubby had half a Caputo Sandwich. Fountain drinks were $6!!!! There are no deli salads anymore in the sandwich shop nor in the grocery store section. All the grocery has is imported jars , hard pasta and meats. There is no longer any amazing smells of bread and spices like I've experienced in other I Italian delis and shops in many other cities. If you go there now instead of like in the "old days", which weren't so long ago. you might think it's ok but not anymore in my opinion. Tony used to be behind the counter running the show, fast service lots of people. It sucks now

Which was made up of perfectly fried pork topped with Dukes mayo (my fav), ranch-kraut (my new fav), and dill. You can really taste the ingredients which is such a plus for me as too many ingredients in a sandwhich can get muddy. - They had a special butternut squash soup with calabrian chili which was phenomenal. At only $3 it was a perfect side for winter. CONS: - Pricey. I think at this price point if it added a bag of chips or some time of fruit or a small little side or maybe a can of soda included it would be a perfect meal and a very reasonable price point. My only suggestion.

I…read morehad noticed Deadpan from some foodie articles and accounts - amazingly, they decided to keep their business going due to the massive support they received when they announced their closure a few months ago. The owner was kind and helped me pick between the two sandwiches I was being indecisive about - the Oh Schnitzel and the Hot Chopped Cheese. He asked if I could handle spicy and I said yes. I let him choose a sandwich for me between the two and he chose the Hot Chopped Cheese and said he thinks I'd enjoy it. He described it as a sandwich with chopped-up cheeseburger fillings inside, and they use a lamb and beef patty instead of just beef. Right, he was. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and the meat was spiced and slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. The sandwich was flavorful, and I'm impressed that the bread wasn't too thick because sometimes places serve sandwiches with way too much bread-to-filling ratio. The bread was also a nice texture, I'm glad it wasn't too toasty or crunchy like some sandwiches can get that rub the roof of my mouth raw. I felt like I had a well-balanced meal out of the Chopped Cheese. Flavor-packed meat, cheese, veggies, bread - that's all you need. The food was delicious, and I don't doubt that the rest of the items on the menu taste great, but the prices feel high, yes, even in this economy. I say this because I was able to finish this sandwich and still felt I had room to eat some more, perhaps a little snack. I almost always cannot comfortably finish my food in one sitting when dining out, so that was a sign to me that this wasn't all that much food, and I could tell from the get-go because the sandwich did look small.

I love the foodhall, super relaxed and would be a great place to come back with friends. Unfortunately our pasta was super salty. They were close to closing - we got in on a Sat 45 min before closing - so we did not tell them as they were shutting down and it would have sicked fir them to have to make the dish again, but... we could not eat the pasta due to the saltiness. I don't think it was the sauce becaue I tried just the noodles without a lot of the sauce (we got the sausage pasta- forget the name), and the noodles were just way too salty. Maybe too much salt in the cooking water? The noodles were a great texture and perfect bounce. We ended up tossing the dish, very sad:( We will give it another try for sure because of all the good reviews and we saw other people eating and enjoying their food from there. I will update review after we try again.

They do full-service sit-down and to-go orders and have a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches, bagels, dessert, other New York/Jewish style deli foods, and beer! Sloppy Joe - 5/5 - A large (1/2 lb) double decker sandwich with pastrami and corned beef. There are 3 layers of bread. The meats are tender and flavorful and blend nicely together with the thousand island dressing and slaw between the layers. It also comes with a side, I picked the potato salad which was good too. Not too much mayo but it was still nice and creamy. I just wish I got a little more potato salad to match the portion size of the sandwich! Potato Latke Pancakes - 4.5/5 - They were nice, hot, and crispy. You get 2 pancakes which have a nice thickness to them too. The flavor was good, I just think you should get more sour cream and apple sauce. It comes with a small cup of each, but its not quite enough for the 2 pancakes and its 50c each to get extra! Matzo Ball Soup - 3/5 - The matzo ball and soup broth both had a good flavor. The proportions were just off however, a huge matzo ball but not enough broth. And the broth didn't have enough of chicken meat and veggies (carrot/celery). I basically had 1/2 the matzo ball left over at the end Attempted Murder Imperial Stout Beer - 5/5 - Its a vanilla cinnamon stout. The flavor is subtle but in a good way! Its not sweet, but has a smooth bitterness and mouthfeel with a slight fragrance of the vanilla cinnamon. If you like stout, def give this a try. Its a strong one too, 10.5% ABV! The restaurant was clean, service was good, and there is a good amount of seating and its decorated nicely inside. Def give this place a try!
