    Meatloaf

Pretty good breakfast and lunch spot. Decent sized dining room with table side service and daily specials. Staff were friendly and quick with drinks and orders. Meat loaf platter comes with two sides and rolls/hush puppies. Side salad was crisp and fresh with plenty of dressing on the side. Green beans were seasoned well. Breakfast platters and biscuits are also pretty good and reasonably priced. I typically get a bacon/egg/cheese or sausage/egg/cheese biscuit but you cant go wrong.

Yes, I dream about the fried tenderloin topped with gravy. And that's why country bbq is a go to for us again and again. Not only is their space clean and service friendly, the food comes out promptly and it's ALWAYS delicious. If you want the south on a plate, just true down home southern cooking, this is the spot! I've never left unsatisfied. Also you have to order their spicy bbq sauce. I love to dip my hushpuppies in it. And they have the good ranch - iykyk. We will continue to utilize country bbq as one of our tried and trues for years to come!

This is one of my go-to places for lunch. This is just goooood NC BBQ. I typically go through the drive-thru, because I usually can zip through without waiting too long. The staff always has their warm Southern hospitality ready to take your order. Their menu isn't too overwhelming, it has your standard BBQ dishes/meals. There is a choice of ribs, chicken and even hot dogs. Boy, do I like their all the way hot dogs. They have a nice selection of sides. The BBQ plate has a lot of food. So come with an appetite. It has a nice helping of BBQ, loads of fries and hush puppies. They also have their tasty BBQ slaw. Their vinegar based slaw is Dee-li-cious. Don't forget to ask for a side of extra BBQ sauce. Now I like my fries softer with a little crunch. So their fries are so good to me. The savory BBQ is seasoned just right. Sprinkle a dab of their BBQ sauce on top and you have the right pairing. They have daily specials so checked those out before you order.

Huge portion of hash browns. Wow

5 stars for the tenderloin biscuit with some of their delicious house made "hot sauce" and a solid 4 for everything else, but in my book if you have a bona-fide "best in class" item on your menu, you get credit for the FIVE every time! Country Barbeque on 68 in High Point is just a roomier version of the classic spot across from Costco on Wendover. Serving up the same menu, and thankfully for everyone, the same delicious pork tenderloin biscuit in the mornings. While I prefer another place in High Point for every other kind of biscuit on earth (IYKYK) I will always concede the tenderloin biscuit in particular is just incredible here. If you really want a filling start to your day, have them add egg and cheese to it, as I have done in my pics here. I also recommend their hash browns when available. They give you a huge amount of them, and they far exceed the french fries. This is also a good spot for me for some hot dogs (they do offer white slaw as well as the red), and in my opinion, they have some of the best Lexington style BBQ in Guilford county. The hushpuppies here are always good, but somehow the fries get rock hard very quickly, they don't even have to cool too much. No matter what you order, you definitely need to use their house hot sauce to dress it. It's the best. Thanks for making the best tenderloin ever CBBQ!

A BBQ staple and one of the best tenderloin biscuits too! A country style inside with a large open area to find a table or booth. Counter service. We typically will order the Friday Special that come with ribs, bbq and two sides. Very tasty. Their bbq sauce is thick and tangy. I got potato salad and French fries. They have the crinkle cut fries that are always crispy. They robs fall of the bone and their bbq is very flavorful. I also got a side salad just so I could have some of their delicious homemade ranch dressing!

Great service and food. I had the Tuesday special if BBQ chicken. It was tender and juicy.

I thought 5 stars was a bit much but I'm hard pressed to do anything less. Had an early dinner here tonight - went with the Monday meatloaf special. Everything tasted like home cooking! The staff was so nice and service was FAST! My server said she adds ketchup to the meatloaf but it was perfect to me. Tasted like my mom or grandmother just cooked dinner. Don't change a thing!

Great casual atmosphere, the staff have really come into their own, and the food is simple but has little touches that often make it a small cut above most other sports bar type places around. My favorite things to order are the smashburgers, chicken philly (almost as good as the one at Old Town, a restaurant also belonging to this same owner), and now the fish and chips. I decided to get those last night, and the fish was two good size thick cod filets, fried and breaded perfectly. The fish was flaky and tender, the remoulade it came with really elevated it, I'm glad it was not plain tartar sauce (gross). The appetizer favorite here is the pulled pork nachos for me, otherwise, we usually just get meals. If I had one small complaint, it's that the tea is usually brewed pretty weak. Steep it a little longer, and you've got me fully hooked.

We loved their homemade dressings. Service: Our server was great! Attentive, kind, and offered to let us taste test. She also was helpful in her descriptions and recommendations. However, our experience fell short upon arrival. The hostess said they don't have a table for 5 but we could add a chair to a 4 top. And when I said that's not a comfortable or reasonable set up for 5 people and asked if we could push two tables together, she seemed annoyed. Who thinks it's acceptable for a party of 5 to sit someone at the corner point of a 4 top table when there are open tables all around? Management advice: If this is truly your approach, I'd recommend you rethink that logic. This is basic hospitality.

They have games, pool tables, darts, basketball, arcade machines, outdoor seating, and a welcoming setup that makes it easy to hang out for a while. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Our total wait time from sitting down to receiving food was about 21 minutes, which felt reasonable considering drinks and appetizers came out first. The deep fried crab balls were delicious, and the fries were cooked perfectly. For the wings, we tried multiple flavors including Atomic Buffalo, Sweet Chili, Lemon Pepper, Teriyaki, and Jerk. The cook on the wings was excellent -- crispy without being dry. Some flavors stood out more than others depending on personal preference, but the Sweet Chili and Teriyaki were favorites for our table. The ranch was also really good, which definitely matters with wings. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and food made this a fun experience and we'd return again.

We arrived with only 2 other cars in the parking lot, which made us question if they were even open...as it turn out they were, but my wife, and I were the only patrons. We walked in to an unlit foyer, saw some light on in the bar area, so poked our heads in to ask if they were open. The bartender welcomed us and assured us they were, and invited us to seat ourselves. We grabbed seats at a high top, and she brought over the menus and took our drink orders. First thing I noticed was the table tops were not flat, they were wavy and made it very easy to spill your drink, so beware, and be careful where you put your drink down. The menu was pretty standard bar food, burgers, sandwiches, wings and other fried items. I decided to try their build your own burger, an 8oz patty with choice of cheese and toppings. Only side options were fries or hot chips. Food was quick to come out, but again, we were the only people there. The burger was OK, although just a frozen patty, they grilled up, the fries were good, but the portion felt a little small. Overall it was okay, perhaps they're still trying to get thing figured out. The bartender was friendly though. I didn't see a bar menu, but from what I could see they had a fully stocked bar. As we left, we poked our head around to the other side of the building to find a golf simulator, some billiards tables and a few arcade games. Lots of tvs every where though, probably a good place to catch a game.

I don't know if the ownership has changed or if they just made some decisions to alter things, but either way it changes our opinion of the place. First and most important for us, they used to be the only place we were aware of in NC to get Gluten Free Crab Cakes which was a major reason we frequented Sammy G's. That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. However, with the loss of the old GF options, it's unlikely we'll come back anywhere near as often as we used to.

Entrées followed in a reasonable time, no real issue there. Sammy G's has been in High Point for years and offers a wide menu with a little bit of everything. They also bring out little yeast rolls that are pretty good and they were warm when served. We started with the thin cut onion rings. My husband said "less than spectacular," and that sums it up. Some were sliced so thin you mostly tasted breading, and they were a bit greasy. I would skip these. He ordered the fish sandwich with Brussels sprouts (premium side with a small upcharge). The sandwich was okay, nothing special. The Brussels sprouts were good, nicely cooked with solid flavor. I had the Fratellis salad with greens, cranberries, feta, mozzarella, Granny Smith apples, and candied pecans, and added sirloin for an upcharge. They forgot the steak at first, but brought it out shortly after in a separate bowl. Not a big deal. The sirloin was cooked medium as requested, a little red inside and tender enough to cut easily. It had good flavor. I chose the apple cider vinaigrette, which worked well with the salad. I also ordered the chef's selection soup, which was supposed to be lobster bisque. If there was any lobster, it was microscopic. The flavor was slightly bitter and just not good. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Service handled everything well, including the mistake with the steak and the soup. Atmosphere is casual tavern style, relaxed and easy for a weekday lunch. Must order: Fratellis salad with sirloin and apple cider vinaigrette (yummy), Brussels sprouts Heads up: Skip the thin cut onion rings and don't expect much from the bisque. Other soups, I've had here in the past have been great though.
