I absolutely love this place when we visit Knoxville. The service is consistently great, the food is delicious, and the vibe just makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. If you go, there are three must-haves: First, start with the Tower of Margaritas. Yes, a literal tower. 88 ounces of pure goodness. It's the kind of drink that makes heads turn when it comes to the table. Perfect for sharing... or at least pretending you're going to share. Second, order the chips and cheese dip. And here's a pro move: whatever cheese you somehow don't finish (unlikely, but just in case), pour it over your entrée. You're welcome. Third, and this is non-negotiable, get a Country Burrito. Build your own burrito, have it your way, load it up with all your favorites. It's basically a greatest hits album wrapped in a tortilla. You really can't go wrong. You can sit inside if you're feeling cozy, or outside when the weather's nice and you want that patio energy. Just a heads up: on Fridays and Saturdays, come early. We went here on a somewhat busy Sunday. The service was excellent. There were generous portions of food, I had the Taco Salad which was loaded with shredded chicken and my spouse had the beef Chimichangas. Lots of flavor with both meals and a Salsa Bar was available to spice it as much as you want. The decor was nice with Latin murals and paintings throughout. The food I would describe as classic Mexican and less Tex-Mex. The craft drafts included numerous Mexican beers and even a few local drafts including the Highland Pernicious at $4.50 for a 16 oz now that's a nice price outside Happy Hour. read more

The conquest to conquer the foods of Northshore continues...and the inaugural visit here did not disappoint! The inside looked great and was very clean inside. The staff was stellar and took care of everything that we needed - even being nice to our little man, which is always a plus. The food was probably the best mexican dish I've had in a while, particularly the meat that was on both of our dishes. I highly recommend the meal with the chicken, shrimp and steak together. GOOD stuff. Will be back soon, come try it sometime! And get a cheese dip as well! read more

I previously ate at the other location on Hardin Valley Road and liked it a lot. This is very similar in all respects. One thing to mention-- I thought it was JUST a burrito places-- sort of fast food etc. Not at all; nicely appointed, full bar and full menu restaurant. But today-- I especially did not like the salsa and chips...the salsa was just liquid. Good taste and spice level but too soupy. And with my food, no other condiments were offered (I should have just asked, I know). The menu had plenty of options but what I did not see were my two favorites, and dishes I tend to get to judge a new Mexican place-- molcajete or mole dishes. Maybe I just missed them but I thought I gave the menu a pretty good look. I ordered two soft tacos and an a-la carte seafood burrito. Both solid, but nothing special. I was surprised when I asked for the soft tacos, they would have come with lettce and tomato until I asked specifically for onions and cilantro. That struck me as odd. Whoa! I've been wanting to try Country Burrito since they first opened last year. Every time I'd shop at Publix I'd remind myself that I wanted to try it. Today I stopped in to place a to go order and surprise my husband with Mexican food for dinner. SMART MOVE! I ordered us both pork chili Verde. We use chili Verde to measure how much we like a Mexican restaurant. Chili Verde at Country Burrito is phenomenal! Incredibly delicious, even the rice and beans were great. Loved the vibe when I walked in.... tall ceilings, cool wall murals,, and beautiful, wooden tables and chairs! The hostess was friendly and prompt, the server quickly came to our table, and the food came out quickly as well. The food was hot and fresh, and it had a lot of flavor!
