Now she overcharges and gives treatments without permission. Dr. Livingston quoted me a price of $500-$600 for my cat's megacolon surgery, and I ended up paying twice that. My cat died soon after, so I don't believe she had the skills to perform the surgery. Dr. Livingston applied flea meds to my dog and charged me for a full box of three doses even though they knew I had just bought flea medicine the previous month and still had two doses at home (and was already paying a lot for other treatments). She's constantly running behind. I'm a very easygoing customer, but it was ridiculously unprofessional. When I decided to leave their practice, I requested our records, and the receptionist rudely said she would have to get permission from Dr. Livingston and she would see if she could send them. They have to release our records by law. I felt like she was threatening to keep our records and trying to intimidate me into staying. I switched to Kolbrooks Veterinary Clinic. It's a longer drive for me, but their prices are way better and they've been super honest and friendly. I am very happy I left Animal Medical Center because I don't think I was treated very well there.

I waited in the parking lot for over 30 minutes for a curbside pickup, despite being one of only two vehicles there. I had to call 18 times over 9 minutes to get through, only to wait an additional 25 minutes after being told someone would be "right out." When my cat was finally taken in, I voiced my concerns about handing over a pet who had recently undergone bladder surgery, especially under a curbside model that doesn't allow direct communication with the vet. Less than five minutes later, I received a call saying they couldn't treat my cat because he was "too aggressive." He's never shown aggression with family or previous vets. He returned to me terrified and panting, while the staff member had a scratch on her arm. They didn't charge me for the visit--an empty gesture considering the distress caused. If your team can't calmly and competently handle a frightened 8-lb cat, perhaps you shouldn't be accepting new patients. I will never return and cannot recommend this practice to anyone.

I called to bring my dog, Apollo, to Selinsgrove Veterinary Hospital after he fell and lost use of…read morehis legs. They were able to get me in that day within the hour. They were very up front and matter of fact about the situation. Apollo was in a lot of pain and he was sedated for blood testing and X-rays. They sent me home because of how critical he was letting me know it was possible they would keep him overnight. I wasn't expecting to get a phone call as soon as I did, but Dr. Tom confirmed what I feared. Apollo had back problems for a long time, the fall exacerbated the issue and he wasn't a candidate for surgery because of how bad it was. His quality of life had diminished and I couldn't stand to see him suffer anymore, so I made the difficult decision to have him put down. Everyone in the office made the process easy and handled the situation with such compassion and care. I can't thank the staff and Dr. Tom enough for helping me say goodbye to my best friend.

Ashley did an amazing job on our shih tzu!! Because of the current pandemic, we ended up having to…read morego to her, but that was absolutely not a big deal to us. We came back to a pup that wasn't anxious and his haircut was perfect!! At our previous groomer, we had to wait 4-5 hours to pick him up, but Ashley was finished in an hour and the haircut was better than we had previously experienced. She explained that he got antsy when she groomed around his face (which he has done in the past as well), but she said she would do a little and then go back to it so she wasn't pushing him. But if you're in the area and have a dog in need of a groom this place is worth the hunt. The entry room is a part of the deceiving nature. My wife almost turned around and took our dog home when she walked in. Signage is hand written on cardboard and stuck to the walls. There's a faint smell of smoke and no one manning the desk. The groomer came out from the back room and asked a series of questions about the cut we wanted for our dog. She was very knowledgeable, courteous and, as we would find out later, also very talented. My wife reluctantly left our pup to the groomer and came back a few hours later. When she brought her home we were both so impressed and our dog was never cuter. When I took our pup back for a second cut I saw exactly what my wife meant. This second cut was absolutely perfect. We've taken our dog to a number of groomers in the area and none of them have left us so impressed. The price is the final selling point. We've spent about 75 to 100 dollars on grooming at other establishments. They charged us $40 for each cut and I was informed that prices would go up $5 on our next trip. Even at $45 that's a HUGE savings over most places. Great price and great quality!
