If you are there on-the-hour, they have the clocks synchronized to chime simultaneously. Beautiful! If you are looking to plow through piles of junk, this isn't your place. If you are looking for really great antiques at reasonable prices, go here! Some prices may seem high, but if you are knowledgeable about the pieces, you will find their prices to be fair. The guys that own the place are very knowledgeable, and fun to work with. We came away with several great items today. Very happy with our finds!

The Alton Antique Center is the antithesis of this! Its fun and bright as soon as you hit the doors. It smells fabulous inside and is like walking through a luxurious museum of the most amazing things from around the world. I was literally taken aback by how gorgeous it is inside. Their inventory is so far off the beaten path that even if you aren't in the market to buy antiques you should stop in and see the beautiful treasures they have brought together. The do have some new items as well, again things I've never seen like fake crabs and fish!! The owners are super nice and friendly as well.

I honestly cannot imagine making a trip to Alton without walking through those doors. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the perfect mix of vintage charm, beautiful displays, unique treasures, and that feeling that you are about to discover something special you didn't even know you needed. The shop is filled with antiques, home décor, gifts, seasonal finds, clothing, local goods, and one-of-a-kind pieces that somehow manage to feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. But let's talk about the real stars of the show: the caramels. The famous caramel variety pack is absolutely out of this world. Rich, buttery, sweet, and completely addictive. Every single time I visit, I tell myself I'm just stopping in to browse... and every single time I leave with caramels in hand. They have become a required part of any Alton trip. I've given them as gifts countless times, and people always ask where they came from. They are the kind of treat that instantly turns someone into a repeat customer. And as wonderful as the shop is, what truly makes Honeybee Vintage special is the owner. She is one of those rare people who makes every customer feel welcome, appreciated, and genuinely happy they stopped in. Her kindness, warmth, and passion for the store shine through in every detail. You can tell this isn't just a business--it's something she truly loves, and that energy fills the entire space. What I love most is that there is truly something for everyone. Whether you're hunting for the perfect gift, decorating your home, looking for a unique vintage find, treating yourself to something sweet, or simply spending an afternoon exploring historic Alton, Honeybee Vintage delivers every single time. The store feels beautifully curated without ever feeling pretentious. It is charming, welcoming, and full of personality. Alton has so many wonderful places to visit, but Honeybee Vintage has become one of my absolute favorites. It's the kind of shop that reminds you why supporting small businesses matters. Beautiful finds. Incredible gifts. The best caramels around. And a shop owner who is every bit as sweet as the treats she sells. A true gem in downtown Alton, and a place I will keep coming back to again and again.

I'll admit, I haven't bought a gift here. However, I have bought myself several new pairs of socks, a couple of Christmas ornaments and a candle or two. As you can see, any of those items would make a nice one. I apologize for no pictures, but was I so impressed while I shopped I just forgot. I'll go back and add photos at a later date. I also enjoyed talking with the owner, she is so bubbly and pro Alton.

Slow down as you approach the address, as it's set back from the street. Look for the large lit sign and banners, then pull in the shared driveway to a small private lot and get ready for a great shopping experience. The couple that operate the store were extremely friendly and helpful. They buy and sell! The store seems to specialize in glassware, ceramics, crystal, china, and other household items - but there are also toys, games, model trains, Disneyana, and even a beautiful Seeberg Jukebox waiting for their next proud owner! There's also some nice antique furniture, cabinets, chairs, bookcases and the like. No junk! Prices clearly marked! And the prices generally seemed pretty reasonable. And cabinets are unlocked so you can browse and select without needing to wait for the key!! We bought a full set of beautiful last century Christmas ornaments, an aluminum drinkware set, a 60's NASA commemorative glass, and a pair of beaded pears for about $30!! A great antique store in the Greater Saint Louis area, minutes from Afton IL, just across the Mississippi! We will be back!!
