Why did I not know of this before now, I ask you…read more I originally first fell for the Black Box brand on my first foray into The Department Store in Takapuna. Now that I know they actually have their own store,and things are actually cheaper than where you would buy them originally I am hooked. It helps that they had a babe'n sales assistant on the day when I went in there, all dark hair and tatts and well dressed and oh my god did I tell you I love this store! He was actually very helpful. This isn't your typical outlet store, they actually have stuff that is being sold at other places at the same time, its not end of lines or just stuff that no one bought. It's cheap AND its not last seasons. As well as great clothes, they also do amazing shoes too. Sales assistant guy: call me!

All of the clothing in here has a discount of between 50 and 70% off of its original price. What's great about it is that, unlike outlet shopping in malls like Onehunga Dress Smart, this store is actually full of really great clothes. I recently bought a really cute pair of Ksubi denim shorts for way cheaper than their original price. Also unlike most outlet stores, the clothing is still really well merchandised, with everything sectioned off into styles, making it really easy to shop. There are few places (in fact, I can't really think of any) like this in Auckland so make the most of their great selection of labels and even better prices.

In a stroke of genius, the coat hangers are marked with what sizes are available, instead of chaotic racks and cluttered shelves. The staff member was so astute, and yet casual in his demeanor, I couldn't fault him. I forgot we had service like that in menswear stores in Auckland. Well worth the short walk from Queen St to experience the premium fashion of this exceptional little store.

To avoid disappointment even if the website says that a product is in stock in a particular store, call up to double check. A friend of mine found out the hard way when we went got to this Area 51 store lusting after a Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet, as it was closer to us than the High Street store but found that stock levels were out and the bracelet was not in store after all. Didn't leave empty handed though and on other occasions when I have visited Area 51 the service has been amazing, very friendly, talkative staff who appear to be genuinely interested in helping you out, really making Area 51 a more enjoyable shopping experience.

I used to walk past here everyday on my way to work and was always very impressed by the outfits they had on the mannequins. If this styling was anything to go by then I needed to go visit the people that worked here. I was not disappointed. The place is really cool and is full of really unique and quality stuff. The service is really great. I think as a whole, New Zealand retail service and hospitality service actually, is pretty average. But the people I have encountered here are true fashion lovers and seem like they really do like their jobs. There are plenty of simple staple items from brand like Neuw (obviously) and numerous other Kiwi and international ones. Even if you're just having a browse, it's a nice experience. And get inspired by the mannequins!

In terms of the stock available, all the clothes at Storeroom are relatively well-priced, and come from brands such as the popular New Zealand label, Huffer, and also the Australian brand, Neuw. In fact, I still have them in my wardrobe somewhere. Since then I have bought numerous pairs of her shoes and I have always found them to be well made and comfortable without compromising on style. If they are good enough for Bey and Blue, they are good enough for me! Seriously though, Kathryn used to come into the restaurant I worked at and I served her several times and always found her to be incredibly lovely.
