Walked in around 12:45 to learn they are closing in 15 minutes & only accepting take out orders - which was great to hear. Upon approaching the female at the counter to place my order I begin doing so. She sassily replies " can I have a name" her demeanor was dismissive & as if placing an order was problematic. I wanted to walk out, however my partner really wanted to order. The order is placed & paid for- then we are told there's no chicken for the avocado flat bread, so that gets refunded. Then to top it off our food gets delivered to a party who arrives after us-& we had to retrieve it from them. Sadly the eggs & waffle were severely overcooked It was such a mess. Aight, so I tried the country fried steak, and it was good, but dang, was it too much--so dense in the stomach, you know? The biscuit was mean and different, real ono! ZOMG!!! This place is amazing. We've been on the lookout for a local breakfast place. In this search I've had multiple people recommend the Countryside Cafe - we just were never in the area early enough to try it out, they close around 1pm. Luckily this morning we were more than ready. We showed up during what appeared to be the rush and were able to be seated pretty quickly. The outside seating was wonderful, as the beach is just across the street. Though while the view was nice, the food is stellar!! I ordered the Ono Burger (BBQ Burger) and was offered a choice of fries. Regular, Garlic and Loaded. The Loaded fries was the correct answer - as it's fries with bacon, cheese and gravy. Seriously delicious!! My wife ordered the Walk in the Country, 2 different pancakes and Waffles. My kids had Chocolate and Strawberry Pancakes. Everyone loved their food. Service was also great, very friendly staff. Food showed up pretty quickly - though it was so calming here I was just enjoying the overall atmosphere. We had originally thought to go to a local restaurant that wasn't located where Yelp said it was. Upon asking a gentleman that we met for a recommendation, he told us to go to Countryside Cafe. Great recommendation! Gesha (sp?) was working and she is phenomenal! Really kind and friendly, and she cares about the diners experience. We ordered a burger and loco moco. We topped it off with ube pancakes! Everything we ordered was freshly prepared, arrived quickly and absolutely delicious! We now have our go to place when on the leeward side of the island. Probably one of the worst cafes I ever been too. Currently came to visit from out of town with 11 folks with added gratuity, we were excited to visit a mom & pop shop! I tried it again and it tasted exactly the same. I had exactly two bites and decided that it was not for me. I called our server over and expressed that the plate tastes exactly the same. She continued to say that I would have to pay for the plate despite not eating it. What kind of customer service ? I continued to express that I have been a server for the past 8 years and if someone is displeased with do everything in our power to make the customer happy. She continued to say she can call her boss but that was the best she can do. We got on the phone with the current owner/ boss and she was beyond cut throat and rude. She did not care and demanded that we paid. Instead of ruining the rest of our parties time we ended up paying because there was no winning. The service was super fast and the staff was great at anticipating the needs of the guest coming into the restaurant.
