Always good for a bacon sandwhich or a full English. it's been an institution in Urmston for as long as I can remember.

Received great service from the dinner staff on 14OCT2022. The gentleman greeter welcomed me into…read morethe restaurant while I was inspecting the menu. I believe he is local to Manchester, and his energy made me choose the place. My server was simply excellent all night. I believe she's originally from Poland, and with the biggest smile throughout the meal, she shared that she and the staffs pride themselves with excellent service. The salad and garlic bread were tasty starters. The duck salad was designed to be interactive and for the diner to assemble mini lettuce wraps. The steak was perfectly grilled to my request. I would come here again the next time I visit the Trafford Center.

Once you get inside however...its great. There are little tables in snugs and nooks to chill out in or to cosy up if the mood calls for it. The Waitress was very friendly and attentive, immediately asking if we would like any water for the table, before taking our order. I had Bills Burger and my friend had a seasonal special, Chicken Satay Skewers. Both dishes arrived quickly and both where delicious, my burger was juicy, moist, really tasty and the fries where great too! My friends Chicken Satay looked amazing, it was served with a lovely fresh looking oriental slaw and a side of Peanut sauce to compliment the skewers. I was reliably informed that it was `bang on` Prices are very reasonable, 9.95 for the burger and 13.99 for the Satay. When we got the bill, there was a 10% service charge already added to it (standard practice apparently at Bills) it is discretionary, but as the service was so good i was fine to pay it. I will definitely be returning to Bills, the food, service and over all experience was really nice.

Brand spanking newly opened!…read more At the heart of Monton's upcoming new businesses, The Blind Pig has just opened renovated that has replaced a previous pub there previously. The decor looks fresh, new, chic, understated and has that grey wood varnish touch that seems to be quite in at the moment. It's a bar but also a restaurant although it still has that pub feel but the new era pub feel. We went for the food and the cocktails - on a Friday night! This is the real time to test a new eatery. They did surprisingly well. We didn't wait for ages, had fun with the cocktails and discussing the place. Cute little notes were hung from table decorations and writing on the walls. Selection: Starting sharer platter - Italian meats, rocket, olives, mozzarella Soup and chips Random I know, but it worked. All of the food was tasty and fresh. Even through the renovation, it still attracts a lot of the old crowd. We were sat next to some people who didn't stop saying the F word through our latter part of the meal. This didn't put me off the food and the experience we'd had so far and I think it genuinely deserves 4*'s.

Monton is really going through some serious changes at the moment and will surely become the next Didsbury / Chorlton. The @worsleyoldhall is a great historic building with a great old English pub and restaurant inside. Great staff there! Ate at the bar and had a great time chatting with them while enjoying a pint or two and great traditional fare. Started with Italian mixed olives well, just because! Went with chicken liver pate with carrot and apricot chutney and never heard of toasted bloomers but it's a nice crusty bread and the combination of the three was amazing in between sips of a great local beer. For the main course had the roasted pheasant breast stuffed with wild boar and apricots. Had a celeriac (celery) purée and juniper gravy. It was a cold rainy evening and this was such a delicious mix of flavors. The boar and pheasant complimented each other so well and the apricots and gravy and purée made every bite moist and flavorful. Was wishing I saved one piece of bread to clean the plate! Last, finished with sticky toddy pudding that was a surprise. I never knew older rustic desserts were referred to as pudding. Came with a toffee sauce to pour over along with a scoop of ice cream and was a perfect finish. Just a short walk with a full belly to the hotel next door. No trouble sleeping after that hearty English dinner and good company by the staff there. If you're in the area add it to the list! Beautiful historic building, great food and drink, great people!

Just before I nearly leaned over and hugged him, I said, 'We were wondering if we could get one portion of - ' 'I can do you a half portion of mash and peas on each plate and a pot of gravy if you're sharing.' Get out of my head, Mr Amazing Pi Dude! Pieminister pies are always good, but the way they're served can have a certain level of influence. These were done brilliantly... minted mushy peas, vegetarian gravy, the pies perfectly halved and warmed, buttery delicious mash, and it didn't take long to arrive either. When one's got the swimming pool/caffeine tremors and it's cold outside only a pie will do, and this is now my favourite place to come for my fix. Plus, all four flavours of Timmermans? On the same menu as Delirium? Reasonable prices? Are you trying to *kill* me?

Pi gets it right on all of the above and was one of the nicest spots I've hit while in Chorlton. Situated just opposite from Unicorn, the bar is kind of like sitting in a shop with high risen full fronted windows and probably wouldn't sit more than 40 people throughout. For us it was perfect as there was a group of 8 who could easily take a load off on a Friday night and chat with the music not too loud and at 11pm'ish - not too busy as well. They have exciting and interesting beer menu's on each table with the usual suspects from Belgium, the U.S craft beer revolution and local and UK ales on the pumps towards the back. The staff were friendly and fitted in perfectly with this being a kind of place you might pop out of your house for one before heading home to get on with family life. I love these neighbourhood places, I could just do with living nearby to do this... Due to eating at the nearby Tibetan Kitchen, I didn't get the chance to try their pies but they're all from the excellent pieminister so I'd highly recommend getting one if you're in there through the day!
