I wanted to buy the limit of 3 which I was denied because no one could find the coupon! Is this false advertising? Why when they were refunding me didn't they just give me the sale price? This store advertises using the app to save. When you ring up your groceries you don't get the savings. "Did you clip the coupon?" Yes, I want the 5.99 sales price on the kcups n toilet paper. "Come back tomorrow for a refund". Every other store can refund at the cash register. You overcharged me $8 and I won't be back. Aldi is better. read more

I ordered a large fruit tray and a large vegetable tray for a family Christmas celebration. The fruit tray cost $70 and the vegetable tray was $65. I expected them to be pricey because it was County Market, but I also expected them to be very nice. The vegetable tray was nice and there was a pint sized container of excellent dip. The fruit tray was a disaster! The strawberries looked awful, the watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew tasted terrible. The pineapple was delicious! I realize that the melons and strawberries are out of season right now. If I were charging $70 for a fruit tray I would be CERTAIN that the fruit was edible! Surely kiwi, blueberries, perhaps even bananas that I could have sliced before serving could have been substituted! I was embarrassed to serve it! So I didn't. Blatant lack of regard for quality merchandise. From the produce that was literally rotting and molded right in front to meat in the deli that was brown and salad dressing that was expired and the best I could find was a mere 2 weeks from expiring is sad the pathetic part is that you can literally go to all other competitors (and there are not many in and around small town Charleston) and pay significantly less. I went because it was close to my Mom's house and not Wal-Mart. Honestly I could have saved myself $30 and gone there and had fresher everything. Hey quality control, you suck at your job. I don't like this store anyway because I think it's dirty and overpriced. Today, however, in this horrible pandemic that we're going through, County Market in Charleston had no disinfecting wipes for the carts when you enter the store. The canister was empty and by the time I left it still was. That is absolutely irresponsible and ridiculous. Fortunately, I bring my own wipes with me, but maybe others don't. My wife needed a couple of full size decorated sheet cakes for some nursing home residents who were celebrating anniversaries. They normally require a couple days notice but we had to have them first thing in the morning. The bakery came through for us and the cakes were beautiful. Thank you, County Market bakery! read more

After witnessing another customer show customer service he had three packages of meat that were expired over 30 days they told him they would take care of it. The customer than told customer service every week he finds expired meat at this store and has complained to management and nothing seems to change. I went back to package meats to get some hotdogs for the weekend and witnessed the assistant manager pick up a package of hotdogs off the floor and opened the cooler doors and put in with the rest of the meat. First, the upstairs public area is very nice and I'm glad it's open. It's a nice to have something like this in the area, which can sometimes feel 30 years behind the times. I'm used to living in a large city with plenty of access to natural foods, so when I first discovered County Market, with it's health food section (even though it's small) I was optimistic. Now that it's been a while, I have to say I'm really not impressed. I've been trying to get the buyer for that section to get some rather basic items that are a staple in any serious natural food store First they had it, then they didn't, then the buyer was away on vacation, etc. Finally I did see it on the shelf, however it was a more expensive upscale brand which i was not happy to see. There was no shelf tag so I brought it up to the registers to see what it came up as. It turned out not even to be in the system so the cashier made a guess (which was about a third of the price) which I accepted. Then the next time I was in the store it wasn't on the shelf again. (Seriously?) For some reason, on multiple occasions the items I have tried to buy have not been in their system and they end spending 20 minutes just trying to figure out what the price is supposed to be. Last summer, this happened with a travel mug I was trying to buy. The next time I was there I got another one and it STILL wasn't in the system. I don't know what their problem is but this store is NOT being managed well I had spent a couple of years up in Champaign-Urbana and ran into someone I knew from the natural foods market up there and he told me he was moving down to this area and was interviewing to manage the natural foods section here. I was thrilled to hear that as I was always very happy with his service in the past and know that he definitely knew his stuff and also because the County Market natural foods section needs to be run by someone who knows what they're doing. The next time I saw him he told me they put him through 3 interviews over the course of two months and then ended up hiring someone else. At first I was confused but now I just understand this store is in bizarro world so of course they hired someone else. Seriously, people get your stuff together here. There are just a couple of things I get here but for the most part I have to go back to Champaign-Urbana to get the kinds of things I'm used to. read more

BEWARE! I used their online ordering service to send food to my son. Price shown online was $1.48 per apple. I was charged $4.66 and no refunds or compromises were made or offered. DO NOT make the same mistake and use this service to send food to your college students! BTW, this was after the produce manager talked me out of sending a fruit basket which was going to cost $21 for 11 pieces. read more

The Charleston County Market needs some attention when it comes to the BOGO texts that I receive. EI. Yesterday, went to buy one get one free for the Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowl. It was "select variety". Nothing in the case indicated what was on the special. I took two to the checkout. Neither one was the correct ones. The cashier and I walked back to the section. Went to DQ for supper with the wife & 2 kids and decided to go here to get ice cream that would last a few more days longer and a couple other items, along with beer for me. Once they seen the kids putting the milk on the counter they would not sell the alcohol. Store policy. I'm still pissed a day later.
