This hotel needs a complete overhaul. Ceilings are short. Thought I was going to hit my head. Rooms are dingy. You can hear the traffic outside like the windows are wide open. This is a franchised courtyard by Marriott, meaning that it doesn't have everything a normal courtyard Marriott may have. The hotel will not upfront tell you the fee they charge for parking, but it is around $23 or a little over for parking overnight. For a courtyard the pool was a bit sad to say the least, it seems undermaintenced and could use up some clean up and touch up. The gym was nice to say the least though! The whole building was tiny, which also include no microwave upstairs, but at least they have one downstairs that I wish they had mentioned upon checking in so i didn't have to eat my food cold. I originally had called down to ask, however the phone was ringing nonstop and nobody picked up. The middle seating area was beautiful especially with the lighting, however I wasn't too impressed with the customer service nor the overall feeling i got from a hotel -- even if it was meant for a express. It just seemed more like a motel than a hotel. Be careful if you're super tall as the entrance to the elevator overhead is super low for some reason. The elevator also is overdue for maintenance, and shakes which kind of scares me. I wouldn't go there as my first choice, I came because of a business paid trip and they chose this hotel, otherwise id probably stay elsewhere. read more

We had a nice time at the Courtyard. The toom was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet. Very close, was the pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to go in the pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Only positive things to say about it. read more

Dirty and outdated. Went into the room and immediately noticed the AC was not functioning and the room was dirty- found used gum all over the carpet. I was only in the room for 10 minutes before deciding it was not up to my standards. Front desk would not issue a refund and I also noticed my credit card was charged nearly $150 than the rate I was quoted. Paid $340 for a dirty hotel room I didn't even stay in. I had a wonderful 2 week long stay, the housekeeping is incredibly kind. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. Sandra at the front desk was wonderful, and the coffee shop downstairs I got the eggs your way almost every day. Edith that was working there was awesome. Great Customer service at the front desk that makes guests feel welcome. My room was very comfy and nice, on a floor without construction. There are several issues with the property. It is being remodeled. The only two elevators are tiny and so dirty I told the front desk that they look like "murder elevators." They charge $10 a day parking when half their property is filled with cars from the car dealership next door. I have no doubt the car dealership pays them, so to ask guests to pay in a hotel that charges $170 a day, seems excessive. Also, HD channels come in great! Other channels not great quality, and they don't have the ABC Channel. So if you like to watch the NBA on weekends, or other ABC sports, you're out of luck. Great Front Desk folks. There was a Latina woman that worked evenings that was especially helpful! Slight Recomendation, but I look forward to reviewing them again after the remodel. We're notice we don't have no towels. I asked housekeeper to give me towels. She indicates that is not our day for cleaning. I have to give her money in order to get. towels. Next day, I noticed you bites on my hands and arm and my legs I told my wife and she had same thing on her arms and legs. Upon checkout time, I reported to front desk, and she asked me to wait for manager to come. I wait 45 minutes she come ,I showed her my hand arm and my legs red spot looks like bedbugs And she told me she's gonna check into it and call me by end of a day . I'm not asking you for money. I just want you to know my inconvenience of my stay having to put up with smelly room and a bedbug And she told me she called me and she never did instead she emailed me She said the room nothing was wrong with the room or any sign of bedbug , for my inconvenience give you 15,000 points. Stay location is 180 thousand And she tried to brush me off, to go away from this situation. I've been staying in Marriott location all around for last 15 years and never and never had this kind of problem with any of the hotels and Marriott Hotel ,they do a very good job . taking care of their guest. as of now she does not return my call. I'm a Platinum Elite with Marriott cause I travel a lot for work. The location of this hotel is very convenient with lots of restaurants within walking distance. The lobby and service are good, as is the parking. I've stayed at this hotel for over 10-15 nights. It's very pricey for a Courtyard, I was surprised at how high the nightly rate was every time I stayed. However the big problem with this hotel is that the internet is the slowest speed I've ever experienced at a hotel. It made it impossible for me to work on my company laptop and this happened far too often. I even switched to the high speed internet with my status and still ridiculously slow internet. 3G would be faster. The front desk was not able to help. I've posted the speed test results as proof. It's just too painful to stay here if you want to do work through an internet connection. read more

Stayed at this hotel on election night November 5th. Very smooth process with Sandra at the desk to check in. Room was great. I had another incident in the morning (2nd in a matter of weeks at a Marriott property) with the shower only having freezing cold water. I was furious to not be able to shower prior to a morning meeting. Let the front desk know. They quickly apologized and said that the fire department had been at Trader Joes next door overnight and attributed the problem to that. Took down my information and said the manager would reach out to resolve the issue personally with me. Germa, the GM, followed up in a couple of days and offered a full refund. This is what customer service looks like. A complete polar opposite response that I got from Fairfield inn suites palmdale west staff a couple weeks prior. Bravo to this hotel. read more

Seriously one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. (I travel for work so I'm in hotels 1-3 nights per week). I would drive an extra hour to my appointments before I stayed here again! First, the hotel had a lot of vacancies, yet they put me in a room RIGHT on the freeway. I could practically read the license plates on all of the thousands of cars. It was the loudest most incessant noise all night long (the 101 FWY Los Angeles area). Second, one regular coffee and one decaf per room. This was not an oversight on housekeeping's part. It was the hotel at $260 for the night being cheap. No coffee available in the lobby other than the bistro that opens at 6:30, for which I paid for a non-refillable coffee. The shower! Almost no water pressure. Within two minutes (not an exaggeration), the hot water turned completely cold and the already minimal water pressure became a drizzle. None of the usual amenities I'm accustomed to, even in the least expensive hotels... a couple complimentary water bottles, some lotion, a few coffee packets for the coffee maker in the room. Of all of these things, I kept thinking what if I had been traveling with a spouse? One coffee in the room (intentionally), hot water for two minutes... The night clerk was quite friendly (other than sticking me in the loudest room in the hotel). Not a fan of this hotel at all! read more

It was okay but then it is also a Courtyard so my expectations are lower going in. We were upgraded to whatever this room is called and while bigger, as usual the Marriott design team have no clue how to lay out a room. A bigger room needs 2 air conditioner units or better placement of the one thats there. As per the Marriott usual its in a corner facing the couch so the couch was freezing but rest of the room, especially bedroom was super hot. No air is ever getting to the bedroom side. The unit said 61, thats the lowest it would go but it was closer to 70, no where near being 61 in there. Other locations with this configuration have had two a/c units. Lots of wasted space as you come in the door. Large kitchen area with all stuff hidden behind doors so looks cleaner. Bathroom is a good size but again placement is off because commode is right against shower stall when there is plenty of room to have moved it over a foot to be centered against the wall. The shower door opens toward the wall and because the door is so tiny and you have to take a big step down, its awkward. I can imagine older folks having issues. Shower is huge but as usual poorly thought out with 2 small corner shelves for bottles, etc. This particular room had the worst shower pressure I have ever encountered in my life including the Marriott in Paris. Virtually non existent! You could get wetter by having a gibbon sneeze on you! Rainfall shower heads are notorious for being worthless but this one was worse than useless. This location actually had artwork we had not seen before, its usually same prints everywhere you go by the lady I call, "Janet VanAsshole", cause first time I ever tried to read her name, I swore that's what it said. Lol Living room had two of the floor lamps, first time I have seen that, it was great. Unit also has two tvs mounted back to back, one for living room and one for bedroom. I could not figure out why they would wallpaper over this switchplate but okay. I love the sign by the elevator telling you what a siren sounds like in case you are stupid! If you are in the lobby, bathrooms are down the hall but you need your room key to open bathroom doors, that was a first for me and sure enough I didn't have my key and had to go get help. This location did not give Ambassador level folks anything except maybe that is why we were upgraded. *Be Warned* Worlds smallest elevators!! You can drive in and the gate arm will go up but going out you have to use your room key though upon checking out he said just ring the buzzer and he would let us out so I guess you dont truly need one to exit. Parking is free and there is plenty of it because they are very tiny spaces. read more

This is a very tiny hotel. If you are claustrophobic, you may want to take the stairs. The elevator is very small (3 adults max). You need to pay for parking, but I guess Trader Joe's employees get to park there for free (for some reason). The people who work there aren't the friendliest (they act like they care, but it's pretty clear they don't). The pool is also right next to the freeway, which is weird... Basically, the room is clean, the place isn't rundown, it's just small and weird. Don't expect to spread out. read more

We were there yesterday for the second time, we had a chamber of commerce networking event there. They remodeled this property a few years ago and has done a wonderful job! They give free Wi-Fi to all their guests, they have meeting area/board room for 12 with a 72in led hd TV to view videos. Just minutes away from the city's best restaurants and shops just next door to Warner Center! This Marriott property is located seconds away from the 101 freeway! They have a pretty nice pool around a sun deck, a new Bistro for breakfast and dinner. It's your home away form home. Plenty of parking. Staff are very friendly. read more

Very clean, sanitizer everywhere, the room was very nice, flush pillows, crisp sheets, well maintained, just super clean, we enjoyed our stay, too bad we didn't have swim wear, they allowed swimming till 9 pm I believe, and it was super hot that day. Listen, for what this is, it completely fits the bill. This is no Four Seasons. It's a Marriott. My husband and I stayed almost a full week here while I recovered from a surgery I traveled to Encino for. I asked for a quiet room and for the most part, it was quiet. We really didn't want anyone coming in so, as we needed towels or TP we would just ask a housekeeping staff member and they met our requests immediately. Other reviewers commented about a "smell." IMHO, it smelled like any other hotel room. The only smell that was horrible was the elevator smell (like burning oil) but tbh, even the Disney resorts have that smell. My "watch out for" tip would be the parking fees. They have different rates published on their site, outside booking apps, and even on their own app and paraphernalia. And whatever price you happen to see for parking, there's a tax on it too, daily! As for the checkin and overall experience - smooth as butter. They even accommodated my request for a microwave to be brought in. (Had it delivered within 30 min of check in) But let me tell you the absolute WIN... their bistro menu. We had breakfast included and every single option was fresh and made to order. No smorgasbord of runny eggs and pathetic bacon. We were very impressed with the Bistro options and the quality of the food. As I said, it is what it is. It's a Marriott. It met our expectations. And yes we would stay here again! read more

Check in was a breeze, was able to get a late last minute room on the way to the valley. Located in a prime spot near quite a few bars and restaurants. Room was nice and clean and they had Paul Mitchell toiletries on hand. I didn't spend much time here other then change and sleep but everything looked clean and well organized. This place has obviously been rehabbed a few times over and it has had to try to keep up from being a cheap motel from the old days. Don't bump your head in the hallway to the elevator and it's 2 people and bags in the elevator. The electric outlets are all shot so plugs fall out and there is a good attempt to remedy that by putting in mismatched furniture with outlets and that would be fine except those outlets either don't function or the plugs fall out of them too. And it's quite obvious the bathrooms are lipstick on a pig. Overpriced for what it is. The best part is there are many good restaurants in the area. Many times they've messed up my reservation or they room wasn't ready. The coffee area never seems to be open, then they charge $5 for a bottle of water. All their fees and extra nickel pinching fees are ridiculous. They act like they are Four Seasons. You're in Woodland Hills!! Can never get a late check out it seems. They charge for parking without even asking if you parked on their lot. When I tried to have it removed she said I should've told them I wasn't parking there. They really know how to stack the fees up. I've also booked from Day use in the past and when I arrived I've been told the room wasn't available that they were sold out there excuse for not contacting me they said they didn't have my number. As a guest, I have to say my stay was just very uncomfortable with the room smelling gross and feeling stuffy. I tried leaving the air conditioner on and I even told them to clean it a bit because of the horrendous BO smell. Additionally, there weren't enough towels and the staff were hard to get to. I was blown away by the level of customer service we experienced with Marienella at the front desk. Truly! I don't find this type of genuine care from many places especially in LA. Our experience wasn't great with the actual room, although it was perfectly clean- It was freezing at night and our AC control wasn't working so we couldn't turn it off and had a tough night with 2 young kids. To call maintenance in the middle of the night wasn't worth it so we just plowed through. In the morning we notified Marienella at the front desk to check the AC control for the next guests and she was "professionally mortified" lol. She was caring, apologetic and wanted to make it right. Although we had to leave early that morning there wasn't much she could do but we were delighted to hear someone actually cared about our experience. 4 stars because we didn't get much sleep but customer service made up for our experience. Ooh extra perks.. Trader Joe's right across the street, Whole Foods a few blocks away and near a freeway for easy travel. read more

Over the years I have been so loyal to Marriott. I've traveled extensively and had many hotels to choose from and I always chose Marriott, even if it wasn't the best or most cost effective choice. I worked hard to build up to lifetime platinum status. So it really bothers me when my platinum rewards are not acknowledged and/ or ignored and I am given excuses they try to disguise as reasons for them not honoring their rewards program. My girlfriend and I were in Woodland Hills for a family event and the courtyard was the most convenient location. Didn't really expect much going in, but the room was bigger than I expected, bed was comfortable, good pillows (I love a good pillow), and the staff were great. Hannah was especially kind and when I went downstairs to ask for a wine bottle opener went above and beyond and offered an ice bucket and a couple glasses to go with it. It is difficult to find a good hotel when you dont know the area. This pick got a thumbs up from the entire family. Here are the food pros: 1) Next door to Trader Joes. All the moms and dads say hurray to that. 2) Two doors down is Poquito Mas, a taqueria. 3) About a block away is an eggs and waffles place called &Waffles. Make a reservation. We didnt get to eat there. Too crowded. 4)Lodge Bread & Bakery is a car ride down the street. Worth it for HUGe shopmade cinnamon rolls and HUGE turkey sandwiches for sharing. Location: We were on the fifth floor. Pretty quiet and that was appreciated. Our room overlooked Trader Joes and some freeway. Loved seeing the freeway lights at night! Good location to base sightseeing and touristy attractions- just take a drive. The Room: -Great remodeled shower with excellent shower head! -Hair dryer -frig -no tub, but shower head makes up for it -floor length mirrors so you can check yourself before you leave!! - It will cost you $10 to park here every night. Grrr. Gym -small but effective! Great little gym room. Worked on the treadmill and elliptical. There are weights if you need them. The TVs do not work on the treadmills. Staff -friendly Most important- A little bistro is on the main floor and they serve Starbucks coffee. $3 for a large. read more

Where to begin? First, the wifi in my room was crap. I couldn't even get my email to load on my laptop. Couldn't even use my app for food delivery until I went downstairs. The TV didn't work. A tech was sent up at 11pm and he sort of fixed it, but it glitched into lots of digitizing and we just gave up watching. I forgot my tooth brush but they didn't even have that in their tiny market. No toothbrush??? I gave up with food delivery and ordered from their "cafe" for dinner. A piss poor offering, but I ordered the turkey avocado BLT. If turkey there was, it was of the mystery lunchmeat variety. The bacon was way overcooked and crumbled like a mummy when you touched it. In the morning, we had their bland "eggs your way" breakfast. We asked if they had other jelly besides grape and the server said no. (???) There was inexplicably only THREE pieces of toast. I complained. I was told I would have to wait till the manager arrived at 11:30 to do whatever if anything to our bill. What if I had to leave earlier? Over and over I was told because I used booking.com that they had the money. So are you telling me NONE of that goes to Marriott? I have never had such a crappy experience at a Marriott. The rooms are small and narrow and the bathroom door opens to block the door to the room itself. The beds are comfortable, but there is no coffee service except the crappy packets in the room, which were all decaf. That left the Starbucks in the lobby which was very expensive. The hallways were filthy, especially outside the elevators, and did not look like they'd been vacuumed in weeks; same for the elevators themselves, small and dirty.
