I was in an accident in which I was hit in the back of my car. The force pushed me into the car in front of me. My car was towed to Coury's the following morning of March 18th. My insurance company, NJM, recommended Coury's as one of their preferred auto body shops. I just received my car back yesterday, May 10th. They had my car for 52 days. That is correct... 52 days. I would call weekly to ask when it would be done and received the same answer multiple times... we are waiting on a part. Then I was told the part was back ordered. (this is a Mazda CX5.. popular car) The last call I made was about 12 days before I got it back. I was told the part came in bent so they had to order another. I complained that my car rental was no longer covered by insurance at that point so they did agree to pay it moving forward which they did. When I picked up the car yesterday, there was glue on the back inside of the car. I had a guy remove it. The outside and inside were covered in dust and it smelled like paint fumes inside. I had to get to work so I drove off. I then noticed this white glue or paint on the steering wheel and I also noticed my gas tank was completely empty. Not even one bar on the gauge. I actually sputtered into the closest gas station to fill up. After work, I returned to have them get the white marks off of my steering wheel. While an employee was doing so, I ran into Mr. Coury. I told him about the empty tank and he insisted they did not drive it anywhere but the car was started multiple times. I also mentioned how dirty the car was so he went over and assisted the employee in cleaning up the inside of my car. I believe the story about the gas. My issue is this... I have been in customer service since I was 15 years old. I know how to make a customer satisfied. Keeping my car for 52 days then returning it on dead empty and dirty inside and out is not the way to keep customers. The bill for my car was around $9800. Labor was a good part of it. I think the least they could have done is give it to me with a full tank of gas and cleaned up. Instead I got a box of cheap candy and a pen. If, by chance, I am that unfortunate to be in another accident that requires body work, you can bet that I will be taking my car elsewhere. read more

Had an accident and my two doors needed to be replaced. Even though it took a while for it to be done my vehicle was given back to me in perfect condition as well as cleaned inside and out, I didn't even need to bring someone with me to drop off my enterprise rental car, I just drove the rrental there and picked up my car and they took care of the rest. read more

This is by far the WORST SERVICE I have ever gotten, not just at an auto shop, but by any service whatsoever. Took them more than TWO WEEKS to just inspect the car, had to argue endlessly with a rep on the phone every time and they will NEVER tell you when your car will be ready so they can argue that they "couldn't estimate" when it's never ready. They never knew who they were talking to on the phone (and I cannot imagine they have multiple of the same cars in the shop ---- why do they never know who I am when I describe my car, I can't figure out). DO NOT SEND YOUR CAR HERE. It will take upwards of 4+ weeks to get minor body repairs. They are COMPLETELY RUDE and do care if you need your car in a timely manner. They will drag their feet and take their sweet time and then yell at you when you say you need your car back. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. COURY AUTO BODY needs to get a wake up call or just not be in business. WORST WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I have never been so incensed to write a yelp review until now. read more

We had a small dent on the back of our car and one of the reflectors came off. It was not an insurance claim and we went to another body shop that told us it would cost hundreds of dollars to fix, if not more. But Richard at Coury's was able to fix it for less than $200. His approach was practical and affordable, and he did a good job with it. It is not factory-perfect but we did not need factory-perfect (although Richard did say he could do that if we wanted) and the car looks great. THANK YOU! read more

My daughter brought her car there about two weeks ago. They barely kept in contact with us. It took almost a week just to get an estimate. Then we were told it would be done this Friday and when we called today to check in they said it won't be ready for another week! Staff was very courteous and friendly. I had an accident in May 2016 and didn't follow through with the claim until January 2017. Extremely convenient service if you have Geico insurance and plan on renting a vehicle through Enterprise. Representatives are on site to assist you. Mr. Coury was extremely helpful and courteous. He fully disclosed their process for repairs and working with my claim. When I receive my car, the paint job on the new parts matched perfectly. read more

Hi, I usually do not do reviews, but im very disappointed with this body shop. My personal opinion is that I do not recommend this body shop. Their customer service is very very very bad. Every time I call they always asking for my number over and over again. Thats every time I call. Aren't they supposed keep track of their client info. for communication. At least keep the client involve of the status of the car. Then they go about saying we will call you back....guess what.....They never ever did call back. It was always me calling back just to hear the same thing over and over.."May I have your number and we will call back." It is a small shop, so if you are okay with them taking a decay and bad service I would recommend it. Keep in mind people would love better customer service. Doesn't happen here. read more

My family has been using Coury's for over 35 years and "luckily" I haven't had to use them in about ten years. However, I had a recent incident where I needed to have my car repaired and brought it to Rich and his team. The staff was courteous and punctual and I received my estimate in a timely manner. I had agreed to let Coury's do the work and other than a one day delay (item was back ordered and communicated with me), the job was done when promised. Extremely happy with our experience! We've lived in Plainfield for more than a decade and never needed auto body work. Luckily my husband walked in to Coury's to see if they would take a "non insurance claim" job and they said "absolutely" and after a conversation in person, we got a verbal & written quote, and then they completed the work quickly. Loved the detailing they gave my car - it smells & feels like new - and the candy box to say "Thank You" is a great touch. A tree branch fell on my left side mirror. Brought my car in for what they told me was a two day job. Now it's a week and a half later. The people on the phone are not responsive and somewhat nasty. I don't even care about how it looks anymore, I just want my car back! Geico paid for a rental and since it was ostensibly a short job, I opted for the extra $17 a day for collision insurance, which is now mounting up. Geico has to share in this, maybe it's time to look into other Insurance also. read more

Recently I took my car to Coury's Auto Body for a repair of a quarter panel. Although Mr. Coury was very personable and nice closing the deal, he was way off on how long on it would take to fix my vehicle. Additionally, the woman on the telephone was very RUDE the two or three times I had spoken to her. The time that he had my car was off by approx. 2 weeks. However, the most disappointing aspect of this transaction was that I had left Mr. Coury, at least, 3 phone messages to call me, since there was something wrong with my car that I did not have when I brought it to him. Mr. Coury never returned my calls which I believe is extremely unprofessional. I think it is a familiar story -- once they get your money, they don't want to hear from you again! read more

I got to a car accident for the first time n my car was brought to them by Geico I trusted them they took a over a month w my car. I call several times and they would keep saying it would b ready Friday. When I went to pick my car up had several new scratches in the driver side, the paint wasn't matching plus they was like 20 new things wrong . I also found 2 receipts inside my car I with dates of my car being there so it was driven and when gave back to me gas was empty . My AC doesn't work there's still a noise in car they said never heard it so didn't take my car. Left it 3 days they repair again not happy again my doors are not align AC still doesn't work. Plus the hit door has a dent. Noise still there So was not happy at all taking my car to Nissan this week so they can look at it and go from there. So was. They do excellent work! very thorough, and careful with customer cars. Only down side is the the time of service. You will not have your car for a very VERY long time. But if you have a second car, or reliable transportation I highly advise going here. But if you need your car in a hurry, and don't really care if it picture perfect, I wouldn't come here. I actually have multiple cars, so I was able to leave my car for an extended period. And it came back to me looking better than the day I bought it! read more

Absolutely Pathetic service. I have a Honda CRV 2010 and I went to Corey's auto body shop (949 South Ave, Plainfield, NJ 07062) for repair and that turned out to be the biggest mistake. The car was damaged because of a collision and with collaboration of my insurance, total bill was more than $3000, body shop replaced many things in the front side including AC/heater/ radiator etc. Now, after 3 months, heater is not working, I went to Honda Service and they have provided their diagnostics as "WRONG COOLANT" was added at the time of repair which caused this issue. I went back to this body shop again and you know what, their answer is "We DO NOT KNOW THE ROOT CAUSE AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO FIX IT" when Honda service clearly said on paper that it was due to WRONG COOLANT. Will not recommend this body shop to anyone. Trust me, they screw your car !!! read more

Do not bring your car here!!!! Even if your insurance recommends them!!! My car had front end damage, and my insurance (Geico) had my car fixed there. 1. Lack of communication: I was given no updates on my car (they had it for almost two months). When I would call to inquire about my vehicle's status, I would be told I would receive a call back. I would never be contacted, and would have to give them a call back only to be told "they are waiting on parts. 2. Terrible service!: When I finally did get my vehicle it was trashed. Dust and leaves all over the interior (as if they left my windows open the whole time) There was also a dent in my door, that they put there while working on it. Also my car was shaking and sensor lights came on the same day. I had to go back there to get things fixed on my car (tire, sensor lights, dent) four times. The workers seemed annoyed with me complaining about my car each time, as if they didn't mess it up. Until this day, my car still isn't fixed. Sensor lights on, air conditioning broken, and they put a bad tire on. When I called to speak with the owner, Richard, about these things (after having to return four times) I was told 'i don't know. I don't answers for you'. So apparently, a customer driving around in an unsafe vehicle that his workers were supposed to fix isn't a problem. As long as they get your money, they don't care whether your car is fixed or not. If you want your car fixed safely and correctly, this is not the place. read more

I would highly recommend this place! I have geico insurance and I was referred to Coury's by my insurance company. They were able to take my car the same day that I called! From the minute we arrived everyone was helpful and friendly. It was a seamless process, even with the rental car! They called exactly when they said they would, were very flexible with my hours, took payment over the phone, and they were prompt with finishing quite a bit of front end damage. Even the owner came to greet me during both drop off and pick up! Dianne at the counter was very helpful and understanding, Kyle from the rental car department went out of her way to make me comfortable and was super efficient, and Rui my insurance adjuster has an office right on site to make the process quicker and easier. Great service. Only problem was I told them I'd pick up the car Friday night and I got there Friday night and no car. There may have been a misunderstanding or maybe they didn't want the car sitting out in the open with no one there. A friend took me home Friday and I got the car Saturday. Wish I could rate this one a ZERO. Do not even waste your time with these thieves. I had a very minor dent (the size of a fist) and they charged me a total of around $900!!!! They lied and told me this will be the lowest deal I can get at ANY mechanic. I went to my own mechanic to see for myself and they charged me only 180 for the dent. These liars thought they can make money off a woman. They spent hours trying to convince me to use their service on the spot. That way they would hope they can make fast cash before I go out and ask other mechanics for REASONABLE deals. They are so desperate for money. This place is the absolute worst. My car went there because it was a "Geico" approved auto body shop. It took an extra two weeks for them to fix my car then originally promised. They said they "had a problem with the parts", then the next day they said they had a "problem with the paint color not matching" then the next day they said they "had a problem with the intricate parts fitting in the right place" then the next day they said "they had a problem with the parts supplier." Turns out they were just milking the insurance company for more days while I was paying out of pocket for a rental car. After it was "done", one of the shop guys there "dropped a tool on my hood and scratched the car" Another TWO DAYS to fix the hood. This place is a freaken scam. read more

DON'T DO IT!!! This place is a hack job from top to bottom! The owner, Richard yells at employees in front of customers and his employees run around clueless. We were told our car would take two weeks, a month and a half later we finally got our car back and they still had the nerve to ask us to "bring it back tomorrow to have it detailed" because it still wasn't ready. What a frustrating experience, we were told on four separate occasions that "the car would be ready this Friday". It got so bad that their shop manager, John even asked us to stop calling the shop. So we finally reached out to GEICO directly since they recommended this sorry excuse for a auto body shop. GEICO's on site insurance adjuster, Rui F. was even more useless and added to the confusion and frustration with telling us our car was ready when it wasn't. I can't believe they've been in business for over 50 years. The only thing this place was consistently good at was passing the buck on blame and empty promises. They should really revaluate their business plan and customer service or just shut down ASAP cuz this was B A D ! ! ! Believe me when I tell you that I'm trying my hardest to be nice in the review. The service you receive depends on who you are. Coury's has built a huge business repairing vehicles under the GEICO express program. I have had my cars repaired 3 times under this program and all 3 times the service was efficient, quick, and I was satisfied. Recently I brought a car in that was not in the GEICO program for a repair, based on my previous good experiences with the shop, and boy, was this a different experience! Instead of quick and efficient service, I received no attention, the car sat there for weeks untouched, and whenever I called. I received some excuse, or a promise that someone would call, and they usually didn't. I believe if I didn't become so proactive in getting my car back, it may still be there!! The communication was terrible and when they did contact me, usually an employee named Alex, he was arrogant and condescending. On a side note, Alex thinks he is a pretty smooth operator with his fake sincerity and patronizing demeanor, so beware dealing with him specifically. So in closing, Just be aware they cater only to the GEICO cars, and could care less about any other business, this is clearly the business Richard Coury has built and supports. Even if your car is a GEICO car, I'd think you should avoid this shop, because character and honesty is not an 'on/off' switch, and you have to consider a shops overall ethics, and the way they conduct their entire business, and I'd worry about the repairs even on a GEICO covered car for this reason. read more
