We left the room to get lunch, and provided the nurses station with my mother's number to contact us when he returned. After no call for an hour, we decided to return to check on the status of things and Kayla, a nurse in the ER on day shift informed us as she was coming out of the door that we weren't aloud back, with no explanation as to why. This came as a surprise because she was the nurse in charge of my brother's care when we left. When seeing me she didn't even inform me of the floor my brother was transferred to. Rich, the charge nurse for day shift in the ER, answered when I used the phone that is in the waiting room to connect with staff. I began to explained that we left a few snacks and a beverage in the room because we'd been informed we'd be able to return. On the second sentence I stated "We also left" and he interrupted my sentence stating "The information given to you about your brother returning was incorrect and that it isn't my fault. The food was thrown away because we needed the room. You should've taken it with you if you wanted it. I have patients to tend to so I won't repeat myself. You need to leave". He immediately hung up the phone after this instead of using that phone call to actively listen, hold his team accountable for giving incorrect information, and inform me of what floor my brother was transfers to. I called again, not to cause trouble, but to simple ask if our clothing, shoes and a charger that were left in the room were thrown away as well because I didn't get the chance to on the first call. This call was ignored by the nursing staff. Security was sent out instead to escort us out and they did not have our clothes, shoes or charger in hand. So we explained the situation to them. After a few minutes of speaking with security, they went to the back and returned with a belongings bag that contained our belongings. Instead of apologizing for his actions when the belongings were returned to us by the security guard, he still did NOTHING to rectify his behavior. If Rich actively listened rather than dismissing us, the confusion could have been solved and he would've recognized immediately that we were simply requesting what wasn't thrown away in the room. We were calm, which didn't seem to matter to Rich because he still treated us as if we were belligerent. We understand the ER can be stressful for employees but this was no way to handle a very sick patients' family who is already in distress and remaining calm when the issue that was caused was due to incorrect information provided by their team. I am the one who recommended brother visit Lakeview for my his symptoms because I believe they do a thorough job. However, after today's experience of a lack of empathy, integrity and effective communication from the ER staff our minds have been forever changed when it comes to this ER.

I freely gave her my drivers license so she would get my address and everthing correct. My whole name was on my Louisiana Drivers license but the one in the computer was just my first and last name. She ask me if I had a name change or what? She laughed at me for saying I didnt change my name and if you look closley you would see my whole name signed on the bottom of my license. She laughed at me again. I was burning up with fever and feeling really ill but she did not care at all. She laughed at me one more time when I said to her (Do you think this is funny?) I felt humilited at that point and said give me my drivers licence back. I started crying as I exited the door. All she did was laugh on my way out. As someone in need of medical care I chose this horrible. This heartless female should not be in the medical industry. She likes to see their patients suffer. She cost them another customer and from all the bad reviews they will not be in business very long. If you want caring Drs and nurses go to the one off of Hwy 22 on Heavens Drive. They are awesome! They are a wonderful location and everything is all shinny and new and no one laughed at me. They took me in the back and gave me everything I needed. I will see you again Urgent Care on Heavens Drive 70471

After giving so much hard work and over a decade of great service to the Slidell Ochsner campus I feel so let down and betrayed by my manager and the administration dept. there. I'm very depressed now over all that has happened. I would like to appeal the issue that has taken place and wish the H.R. Dept. I was discharged without adequate instructions. The bloody laceration to my head was not so much as wiped and there were no stated or written discharge instructions on how to clean it or aftercare. I woke up the next morning and it was still actively bleeding. Although I had a obvious knee injury, I was told to get with my primary care for an MRI, even though this is a service available through emergency services. I was also told I would receive a call from their Ortho within 24-48 hours. That has not happened and I've been given the run around all day (4/27)with their ortho saying they have no information on my ref. I am 3 days post fall and my head has been contiuously hurting and my knee is swollen and can't hold weight. This was such a horrible experience and I can't drive because of my knee so now I'm home, missing work with an injured knee and trying to put together a treatment plan that this hospital should've assisted with. I truly believe the lack of care is exasperating my injuries
