After being a customer for many years i will no longer be giving my business to cow palace. I was incorrectly charged $14.99 for skirt steak which was on sale for $8.99, i brought the issue to the attention of the women working check out and got nothing but a nasty rude attitude from the employee. Im shocked to read other reviews on yelp about the same female employee being rude and hostile towards customers, and cow palace doing nothing about it. Treating customers nasty and impolite is not okay, and its not okay how many reviews there are about this employee and the business not taking action. I've been a customer of Cow Palace for at least fifteen years. I went to purchase ten lobsters for my daughters birthday from here because they have great prices and quality food. The salesman helping me, Shaun, was extremely rude when I requested female lobsters. He snapped at me and said something along the lines, "I'm not going through them all," and he turned and walked out the door to get them from the back. Two other employees witnessed his behavior and were also shocked. I was angry and embarrassed. I wanted to leave but I didn't want this unfortunate situation to hurt the owners business. I went to the Rocky Point Cow Palace today. There was a bald gentleman serving customer #12. My ticket was #13., He never acknowledged me and neither did anyone else in the store. I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN AND I DID NOT HAVE MY SPOUSE THERE WITH ME TO WITNESS THIS RUDE, RACIST BEHAVIOR. There is another 2 men working there who are obviously prejudice. One was working on another order with black hair. He was working with a very young fella who also has black hair. He whispered to the young fella that he didn't like the black woman who was waiting on line and he should take his time. Smh. Then a white customer walked in and I could see the expression change on their face because they didn't want to make it obvious that they were being prejudice. There was a older gentleman with glasses who walks with a slight limp. He is also very prejudice. I have been there several times and received the coldness and rudeness from these two prejudice men. I spoke to the lady at the cashier about what took place. She said she would Have a word with them but who knows. It is crystal clear that they are trying to discourage me from coming to the store because 1. I'm AFRICAN American and 2. I usually don't spend alot of money I generally come there 2 - 3 times a month. Unfortunately each time I come its always the same rude treatment. read more

Cow Palace is by far the best butcher/cater. We ordered a 6'hero 1/2 steak and 1/2 chicken cutlet yesterday, it was phenomenal. Everybody asked where we got it and the price with the salads (6lb) which it came with it is unbeatable for the quality.. I can't stress enough what a great hero it was and how great an experience we have every time at Cow Palace and their meat quality is 5 star ALWAYS. Meats are priced fair market value for freshness and seriousness of the staff tells me they know their products as they answer your questions. Picked up an order of chicken cutlets and sausage yesterday. The sausage was tastey. . Sorry to say that my 3 ponds of chicken cutlets looked like a child sliced them up. I requested medium thickness and it was anything but medium. All the slices were randomly cut, all different sizes and thicknesses. I found it difficult to even find a few slices that were similar! The prices here are great and I haven't had any problems with the quality of meat. BUT... the customer service is awful. The women behind the counter rushes you to check out. I feel like I'm in their way. I can't even use the "check in" on the mobile phone because she's pushing myself and my items out of the way to check out the next guest. No smile or hello from them. Picked up my order yesterday. Drove up to the back door and the nice gentleman put everything in my truck. I came home and couldn't believe I purchased package 3 and 5 and split it with my brother in law and his wife. Perfect amount of food for four adults. Two packages was $160.00. I usually do not post reviews, but this must be said. Where do I start with this place? In the past couple months, it has gone downhill quite rapidly. I have gotten not one but TWO RAW rotisserie chickens. The first time I thought it was just an honest mistake, being since I've been shopping here for years. The second time, my husband picked one up, and needless to say, we had no dinner that night. It is obvious that they are trying to cut corners and put out larger quantities, but is it worth your customers contracting food borne illness? Also, lets enforce the mask policy people..and educate your employees on the fact that viruses are spread through noses as well. If you're just wearing it over your mouth, what is the point? I really LOVE this butcher. I have to drive past several grocery stores to get here, but it's worth it. Their meat is ALWAYS fresh, the have great sale prices, and their regular prices are more than fair and usually less than my local grocery store. I stock up when I go here. They will freezer wrap your meat. Just ask. No matter who helps me, they are ALWAYS friendly, informative (they will give you cooking tips if you are trying something new) and quick. Even if you see a long line, stay. It moves fast. I have stopped here at all different times of the day. Whether it's first thing in the morning or 10 minutes until close, everyone on their staff smiles, is willing to help you with everything you need, and doesn't ever make you feel rushed, even when there's a long line. I went here late tonight, shortly before close. The slicer had already been cleaned (I didn't know that) and I asked for cold cuts. No problem! You guys are 5 stars. We haven't lived in "the point" in quite a few years now, but when I'm passing through this is a must. We love to stop here and load up on our meats and chicken cutlets. They'll ask you of you want your goods freezer wrapped so you can throw it right in the freezer and really stock up. Great prices, great cuts of meat, great staff, and you can't beat it. This by far is my favorite butcher shop. All the staff are knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The meats are fresh and delicious. My favorite are the bacon cheeseburgers and the marinated chicken kabobs. The deli salads are homemade and tasty. The macaroni and potato salad are hands down best around. Most important is the quality of their food- which is outstanding - and the friendliness of their staff. I've never gotten any bad cuts of meat here. They aim to please. I use pork neck bones to start my tomato sauce and they always oblige me when I request some. They go to the back and cut them fresh to order. No request is too big here. The chicken cutlets are still a bargain, even after a price hike within the past year or so. They slice these to order as well and will always freezer pack your items upon request. Tino is the man! Butcher shops appear to be losing out to the supermarkets and big stores. My family has been customers of Cow Palace's many times, and we have enjoyed their products. Unfortunately, they first messed up our catering order. Then in an attempt to rectify it they took much longer than expected and charged significantly more than they should have by charging for more items than we received. Then upon trying to correct that, they claimed to have closed the register for the day and made us come back the next day to get the refund. When we showed up the next day for the refund, we were told by the obnoxious woman at the register that she decided to change what the the gentleman had said the previous day and refund us much less than expected. In addition she was rude about it, and forgot what customer service really is. We have spent a significant amount of money here and would have spent much more, however, due to the woman at the register we will be using another butcher. That's business. read more

It's funny, it took me years of trying to find alternatives to purchasing my meats at the supermarket. I have patronized every butcher shop within a 10-mile area and have been disappointed. My husband and I were out to dinner last year at Danfords in Port Jefferson. the steaks we ordered were delicious. We asked the manager where he purchased his meats for his restaurant and without hesitation, he said, 'Cow Palace.' I knew of Cow Palace's existence, had passed it in Rocky Point when I'd been out east that way. I always thought it was a funny name and very apropos but never imagined I'd go there because it is about a 40-minute drive. Now, that 40 minutes seems well worth it. I have been a loyal customer for about two years and love it. Tony and his crew are excellent, efficient at what they do, knowledgeable and very pleasant group of folks. I tend to do bulk shopping so I make my order on line and they have it ready to be picked up within a day or so. Their meats are delicious and good quality, be they poultry or beef or pork. Even better, their prices are competitive. I am a fellow small business owner so feel very strongly about supporting my local(ish) businesses and I am tickled I found them and will continue to recommend and patronize such a great group of people who sell a great product(s). read more

Recently attended a party over the Independence Day weekend and they had food from here. I thought the meat was the best I've had in a long time. It also helped that it was cooked properly! The is a butcher shop that also makes hero sandwiches. While its a good butcher shop, don't get the Heros. I ordered an Italian hero and a roast beef hero. They took a hero roll, cut it in half and used it to make 2 heros...Really? At $8 bucks each that's just not right. Besides, if I wanted 1/2 a hero I would have gone to subway. It took the person 25minutes to make the heros. No onion, lettuce or tomato on the Italian hero, not much meat on the roast beef hero. When I lived in Selden, this was the only place that I bought the cheese & parsley ring sausage. It is the best I've ever tasted. Their other cuts of meat were excellent also, and the prices were reasonable. I now live in Southampton and miss this place. When my husband and I are in the area, we definitely visit here.
