This was our first time trying out Cowboys Restaurant and the main reason we decided to try it was because I was craving Chicken Fried Steak. We didn't necessarily want to get dressed up to go out to eat and it was already a little after 7pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived I noticed how clean the restaurant was from the outside and it proved to be that way on the inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated promptly. There were about 5 other tables occupied at the time. I wish that I had gotten a picture of our food but I didn't think about it because I am not one that normally reviews businesses unless specifically asked to do so. I am a Chicken fired steak snob and I have to say that this one passed the test. It was the perfect size. It was tender enough that I did not need a knife to cut it. I had a side of green beans and mashed potatoes with it. This hit the spot for home cooking. Our waiter was Edvin and he was very attentive and made sure a few times that we were enjoying what we had ordered and asked if we needed anything. We will be absolutely be going back because they serve breakfast all day which is hard to find these days and I am old school and crave breakfast for dinner on occasion. I took my family here over this past Labor Day weekend. It was our first time here. We were seated quickly and the waitress wasn't far behind Over all the service was good. There were a few times that we were left unattended, but I think it had more to do with understaffing. Our waitress was very sweet very kind and I have no problems with her. The food was cooked order in served nice and hot.. and good! I ordered the Cowboy Omelet. It was saturated with so.e nasty tasting grease. The mushrooms, tomatoes and meats were way over cooked to the point the bacon was like chewing leather and all of the other ingredients looked burnt. I have had this omelet before and it was delicious but that was about 10 months ago. This is the second visit in a row that my food was sub par. I don't think I'll go back anymore. read more

We were in the area for our grandsons basketball tournament and between games looking for a place to eat that wasn't fast food. This fit the bill! Grandson ordered chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and I got the Tex mex skillet. The skillet had potatoes, eggs, chorizo, jalapeños, cheese and tortilla strips. I didn't want the sour cream. Both were excellent! The server was friendly and helpful and the food came quickly. It's a great local place that we will definitely be returning to when we're in the area. A year ago, I would have recommended this place to anyone. I don't know what has changed but the food is undercooked/overcooked/greasy. Sometimes not even edible. I tried breakfast there again and was very disappointed. First of all, there was no bartender on duty so the drinks that were advertised on the table weren't available. Ordered two club sodas to drink. They were canned at 7.5 ounces each and we were charged a total of $5.16 for the two small cans. We did order an appetizer that was a chicken quesadilla and it was OK. I ordered a patty melt with fries. Patty Melt was so dry I had to dip every bite in ketchup to get it to go down. The french fries seemed to have been re-dipped very oily and not good. For the first time in my life I left half of the order of fries on the plate. My wife ordered liver and onions and ate about half of it. Textbook, canned brown gravy very pasty. Poor flavor and she was not even interested in taking what was left home. Her side of okra was OK. The side salad that came with it was very mediocre. We had two young servers and they were very friendly. Don't ever see us returning, and it was our first visit. read more

The Chuck Steak should have been called the Hockey Puck. It was burnt to a crisp, dry, and almost hard. Pinto beans didn't really have any flavor, nor did the gravy. Gravy in the jar from Wal Mart is better. Breakfast was "meh". The bread on the Monti Cristo had the texture of a biscuit. It reminds me of this one time I was shopping in a grocery store and a lady was shopping with her mom, telling her about her pulled pork recipe, and her mom said "Eh, I just throw it in the crock pot with a bottle of BBQ sauce". We came in after a sports team had just finished eating but l feel like we were just forgotten. Having to ask for silverware and napkins after we got our food was ridiculous also.
