These guys are great! They've roofed our home twice, my daughters home and we referred several friends to them as well. They have been super busy since the hailstorm in southwest Springfield, so we knew it would take awhile to see anyone. Ken kept us well informed during the waiting process. Went in to the store to see the color selections, and came home with some swag! (Hats, coffee cups) It was a week or two after the shingles were delivered that they started working on the roof. I can't remember the job supervisor name but he did a great job keeping his guys in line (when someone spouted a curse word while I was outside checking their progress), as well as encouraging them on good work. They cleaned up around the house every day before they left which is so nice! They sub out the gutter work (highly recommend the 6" ones!) and they did a great job too. WARNING...Do not under any circumstances use Cox roofing. Gave them a several thousand dollar deposit in May. Excuses after excuses, no communication. Shingles finally delivered Monday, called and told crew would be here today. No crew, called to complain, their solution "well, I guess the best thing would be to void the contract. So, two months after giving them the down payment, still no roof and they basically used my money for two months for free. read more

I will start this review by saying that this decision was made after reviewing multiple "Estimates", discussing roofing materials/warranty and plan with several contractors. Based upon plan, materials and Russ's great communication, Cox Roofing emerged as the best choice. After witnessing the tear off, and replacement including the addition of a new ridge vent system, it was obvious we made the right choice. Russ did exactly what he said he would do and we are very pleased with the result. Javier and his crew were amazing ! One day tear off + ridge vent install and complete replacement beginning at 8:30am, with the last shingle nailed at 4:45pm on a very large roof replacement. They kept the yard clean, stayed off of landscape plantings, searched for every nail and were as professional as they were fast. Anyone thinking about this company BEWARE! It took them 2 years to fix the roof they installed to stop leaking and then REFUSED to fix all the water damage that was directly caused by their poor workmanship. Multiple attempts to (fix) it, Thompson water seal, caulking etc. I finally had to get a building inspector to tell them how to fix it ( my expense) OPPS they did not use step flashing around my dormers.!!! When all was said and done, they then had one more insult...they installed the wrong color stone and told me it was not sold anymore. Out and out lie!!! Our neighborhood just was hit by a hail storm, anyone even thinking about this company should think again. read more

I was very pleased with my service from Cox Roofing. They did a very nice job on my roof stripping off the old shake roof and installing the new one. They arrived early and worked until the heat was too intense. They didn't strip more than they could cover and finish in a day. They were polite and cleaned up after the mess. Overall I would recommend Cox Roofing but I do have somethings that bothered me throughout the process. I'll list both the positives and negatives below. Company as a whole: The overall branding and reputation of Cox Roofing is great. I performed a lot of research prior to hiring them. When I was trying to locate the right company, I was looking for affordability and quality at the same time. Cox Roofing came in more competitive than Dales and many others. I was very happy with the service I received from the office staff. It was nice to speak with someone on the phone who seems to enjoy their job and was very helpful to me as a prospect. Feedback: I believe it took a week or two before an estimator could come to my house. Once I decided to hire Cox Roofing, it was around two months before they were able to complete my roof. If I owned the company, I believe this is a great problem to have but I would definitely evaluate my staffing levels. I was very close to hiring someone else solely based on the long wait. Estimator: I had the pleasure of working with Russ. He had very good customer service and was in constant communication with me throughout the process. Russ was very knowledgeable and walked me through the whole process. Feedback: The reason for my 3 star review is because Russ didn't notice we had two layers of shingles on my roof. I received a call from Russ explaining this and that there would be an additional fee. Maybe I'm a little to harsh but when a business provides a quote and it changes an no fault to the customer, I believe the company should write off the additional amount. I'm now on the hook for an additional $400.00 because of this mistake. With that said, I don't want to take away from the fact that Russ was fantastic in all other aspects. He seemed like he felt bad for the mistake. It's also worth mentioning that my insurance adjuster didn't notice the additional layer of shingles either. Installation crew: I was at work for the majority of the day so I wasn't around for the full process but I will say when I arrived home, the crew was very friendly and made it a point to educate me on what was going on. They made sure to ask me what satellite dishes needed to be hauled off and which ones stayed. They also made it a point to reposition a couple of solar panels I have that power outside flood lights. They cleaned up after themselves and the roof looks fantastic. Feedback: I received an email from my home HVAC system saying that my system needed service. I left work early to address the issue and found out the crew had pulled the fuse (for good reason). My advise would be to notify customers this is going to happen. After the crew left, I noticed my Dish network wasn't working. After spending an hour of the phone with tech support, Dish wants to charge $100.00 to send out a service tech to correct the problem. There is a free phone app called Dish align that the crew should utilize when reinstalling satellites. This will help them reposition the Dish to the correct spot. It would have been nice if the crew checked in with me prior to leaving to be sure it was working. Delivery truck: The crew was very friendly and made an extra effort to protect my property while moving the shingles to the roof. They had me move vehicles and objects out of the way which is greatly appreciated. Feedback: According to my neighbor, the crew showed up the day prior but my vehicles were in the way and they couldn't do it. They came a day later when I happened to be home. I would suggest the crew attempt to call customers prior to making the delivery. This will save the company time and money to be sure the customer is home to move anything out of the way. I know this us a very detailed review but I believe feedback like this helps companies get better. Overall my experience was good and I would hire them again and refer them to my friends. read more

This review will not get our roof fixed but perhaps it can serve as a warning to other prospective customers. We have a flat roof on an industrial building in Mt. Vernon, MO. During the installation Cox haphazardly drove screws into the roof causing an air conditioner failure. Fortunately they were able to fix this issue. However, the biggest problem is leaking. We spent a lot of money and the roof leaks in multiple places. In one area we even had water damaged insulation and equipment on the shop floor. We have called Cox back several times and they still have not fixed it properly. My recommendation... run the other way as fast as you can. read more

On Wednesday, during the rain, we found that we had a leak dripping down and onto the carpet. We called Cox Roofing and I spoke with Mike who told me that he would be by in a few hours to determine the cause and give us an estimate. After Mike arrived and looked at the outside, he told us that he would need a better look at an area that required his ladder. He said that he was going to wait for the rain to die down and then come back over. We never saw Mike again. Wednesday afternoon dried up and Thursday's clear skies came and went. On Friday morning I called and left a message with reception asking if and when Mike was coming back but she said that she couldn't help me and that Mike wasn't there. She was going to pass on the message. Now, it's Saturday, pouring rain and leaking into my living room. This situation that Mike created is probably going to cost us extra to get help on the weekend. If he didn't want to do the job, he could've just said so, but not showing up for a job when expected and not returning telephone calls is about as unprofessional as a business can get. I'll be sure to edit this review if Cox Roofing ever gets around to doing the right thing but only time and puddles of water in my carpet will tell. ---UPDATE After posting this review in several places, one being FB - received a reply from Cox Roofing through the social media website. They gave an apology that we were experiencing a leak but had no interest in apologizing for the things that had occurred. In fact, they were quite brazen with their rude comments to include a snotty blurb about why we didn't just hire whoever it was that we hired the last two times that they gave us an estimate we didn't take. Biggest problem was picking the color. After that it went in a flash. Shingles on roof in a couple of days and 2 days later it was done. I am no roofing expert but looks great to me. I have heard horror stories from friends about debris and nails after the job. I have cut the grass three or 4 times since the job and have yet to find anything. Oh yes, estimator added a seal around a vent tube that was leaking just because he saw it was needed. If I ever need another roof in Springfield it will be by Cox. read more
