The chips were so crunchy and delicious, and the dip was prepared with fresh ingredients. We tried the Scout Troop 55, Death Valley, and Ruby's Expedition cocktails. They were all well balanced (definitely not spirit forward). I expected a pour that justified the prices, plus it is, after all, a speakeasy, so drinks should have been more potent in my opinion. The Scout Troop 55 was my favorite. Ruby's had a nice presentation, but it was too herbaceous for me. I tasted pine needles as opposed to rosemary. Our server was friendly and helpful in answering our questions. My best friend saw it on ig and it was already booked so we made a reservation for the Wednesday after next. It's inside Bacchus. We walked in and must have looked generally confused cause the guy pointed us to a table at the back to wait at. It was less than a 10 min wait for our 8pm reservation. It is tiny. The bookshelf is the entrance. Two covered wooden booth tables that seat four. Two open beach style tables that seat four. A thin bar top along the side that seats four. And another bar top along the other side that seats four. One server for the whole thing but he was pretty good. The decor is cute. Very cozy cone motel at Disneyland. Def felt like someone's passion project. Not that it feels super unfinished just not the highest quality grade. Food is all small bites reminiscent of camp food. my friend go the tomato soup for one and it came in a camp cup that was less than half full - for $14. My other friend got the corn dip and it was fine. Her boyfriend got the skewers and said it was good - but not $20 good. I got the deviled eggs (4 halves) for $9 and that didn't feel outrageous to me, I enjoyed them cause I love deviled eggs. Drinks. The Apex Predator is a pretty purple drink. I actually didn't hate it but I'm not a fan of orgeat so I probably wouldn't order it myself. The Ruby's First Expedition was nice - very refreshing. I *loved* my Smokey's Night Out. The vegan chocolate cream was amazing and as a lactose-intolerant person, I'm a huge fan. I'm not a fan of old fashioneds or whiskeys in general but the Camp Anawanna was surprisingly good to me. Wow! I saw a clip of this place on IG and sent it to my husband telling him that we had to go. I can say that expectations were exceed. The ambiance is so cute and inviting, albeit small but it adds to the "Cozy" namesake. We came in on 11/9 for a reservation at 7:15 (MAKE RESERVATIONS-VERY IMPORTANT). It took some time to seat us due to another party that was taking their time leaving but the staff really took great care of us and we were not rushed in any way. My husband had the CAMP ANAWANNA and the DEBRIS, while I had a RUBY'S FIRST EXPEDITION. All drinks were delicious. We also had the smores tart and we loved them too! Corn dip and chips were average, wasn't expecting it to be cold. Loved the mini s'mores tarts too. My favorite drink has to be the Apex Predator, tastes like a Hawaiian Punch, almost can't tell it has alcohol in it. Pretty pricey but I guess that's average for speakeasy's. It's also more expensive, you pay for the different experience. We tried all the food on the menu, and shared between the 4 of us.
