My problem is that CPI charged me $ 120 in 4 weeks. When called them they couldn't explain why or who charged the account. The worst thing is that they don't deliver what they advertised. Smoke and alarms in the house, CPI never call or contact me at least to ask if everything is ok. This is just unacceptable because in a real-life emergency, I couldn't count on them or their camera with the cameras barely catching anything. Bad business. The cameras only catch for a couple of seconds. lack of activity. When I called, I spoke to a CPI supervisor, who promised that someone would be at the house to check the installation, which had been ongoing since the end of December and I still now I never seen or heard from anyone whether to tell me why I was overcharged nor to check on the system. After more than 20 years with CPI on multiple houses I tried to arrange for a new home I was building . Without having a contract in place without contacting me again for installation after my inquiry they started taking money out of my account based on the financial arrangement for the prior house . They made no questions if it could be done from the same bank account is before they did not call to see when the equipment could be installed and further they gave me no benefit which had already been promised of having a discount based on the equipment that I had had for the 20 something years in multiple houses . I had always been very happy with their service their response times Etc but apparently it's a whole new ball game up there that doesn't include being concerned for keeping customers who have been loyal to them . I recently spent nearly three weeks with my son and his family, who live in another part of the state. While visiting, I was very impressed with their home security system. After learning that their security system was installed and monitored by CPI, I was determined to get a very similar system installed in my home. When I returned home, a few days ago, I called CPI, to discuss my options and the costs. I specifically told the CSR, that I was referred to them by my son and his wife. The fact that I was referred to CPI by one of their current customers didn't make any difference to that CSR. She never asked me their names, or their physical address. My son had already told me, that their monthly cost for monitoring and payments towards the cost of equipment is $52. In my opinion, is very reasonable. Later that same day, my son called me, to ask if I had called CPI, yet. I told him, what had occurred. He couldn't believe the unpleasant experience that I had gone through, during my phone conversation with the CPI CSR. He was so upset, about the way that I had been mistreated until he said, that him or his wife would contact CPI, themselves, to express their disdain with how I was mistreated. My son even said, that they may consider going with another home security company, in the near future, because of this incident with me. After listening to the details of my bad phone experience with the CPI CSR, my son stated, "so this is how they treat referrals. They piss on their backs, and then tell them it's raining outside." This is a short summary of my CPI phone conversation: Initial greeting and specifically informed CSR that I was current customer referral; I provided a breakdown of preferred devices needed to secure my home. CSR provided details for monthly price range, starting at $52. Actual monthly price would be determined when installation tech came to my home. CSR states, that the $199 installation fee, could be eliminated after a "HARD" credit report inquiry. After credit check, cost of equipment would be $660, for three cameras, eight window sensors, and three exterior doors. CPI currently advertises THREE FREE devices. After asking the representative about the reason for the steep upfront payment, she didn't have a DEFINITIVE answer. She then told me, if we eliminated one camera that would lower the upfront price to $638. In other words, it seems that the THREE FREE devices special is only offered and applicable to certain people. REALLY!? With everything that I've stated above, the monthly monitoring fee was still going to be $54, per month. After informing the CSR that I was no longer interested, she began to ask me how much I was prepared to pay upfront. When I told her, that I was more focused on the monthly payment, and over nearly 50 years of owning numerous home security systems... I have NEVER been asked to pay that amount of money, UPFRONT. They suck!!!! Where do I start? 1. The sales office took two weeks to return a call. We had to hunt them down to actually get an appointment. Turns out someone in their office wrote down the number wrong. 2. Next, we paid the $1300 in installation fees up front. Big mistake. We only got half of the installation done. The 2nd installation person who was supposed to come and finish the job LIED about trying to ring the doorbell (which they installed) and he didn't use. We have proof. What an idiot. 3. They have billed us for the installation AND a monthly monitoring fee even though the installation fee was paid up front. 4. Calls to the Regional Manager were gone unanswered and he seemed "offended" that we actually wanted a return phone call and the rest of the installation done. 5. Calls to the Customer Service in Charlotte went unanswered even though we were promised a return phone call. 6. Emails to the CEO via LinkedIn have gone untouched So the bottom line is this if they can't get the easy stuff done correctly or at all, why should we trust them in a home break-in situation or some type of emergency? Thank you Larry for replacing my doorbell with the latest/greatest technology for home security. When I called to get my doorbell looked at, and you came the next day to fix my bell I was thoroughly thrilled. Also, thank you for running diagnostics on my entire system before you left, thereby making sure the system was performing at its peek. My new door bell rings when someone approaches my door, alerting me that I have a visitor before they ring my door bell. No one can loiter on my porch without my knowing. After researching other companies, I have found that your customer service and attention to detail is far superior than the rest. You don't farm out monitoring my security system... others do farm out monitoring or they don't monitor at all. I feel very secure knowing that CPI Security Systems has be best rate for police response time for security alerts. I was so surprised to see such bad reviews. In my experience in the last two years, CPI Security System are by far... hands down, the BEST. And what is absolutely ludicrous is that another security company lied to steal business away from you during the height of the Covid pandemic. Shame on them. read more

Worst company ever!! Do not get fooled by this company's sale tactics. Unsolicited and high pressure sales person just showed up at my door on moving in day and wouldn't take no for an answer. I agreed to letting him come back later that day ( to basically get rid of him at the time) which was dumb on my part, but was hoping he wouldn't return after seeing how frazzled I was with the movers hauling in furniture, etc. Beware of contracts!! This company... we got roped in with them because we bought a new house and they were the ones recommended by the builder due to the smart home equipment that came with the house. The service rep was u professional to start with. That should have been a red flag but I assumed it was just the rep and not what the whole company was about-Due to it being a known company.We paid a year up front, they continuously tried to bill us monthly. You can rarely get anyone on the phone, they call back days after you leave your number so you "don't lose your place" , you can't even get anyone on live chat. It is pointless. This is the worst company, do not go with them. I bought a house TWO months ago, and am still waiting to get the package installed in my home that is already PAID for. The salesperson was terrible, she did not explain things well to me, was not good at getting back to me in a timely manner (bad customer service skills), and would not return my messages to set-up my installation date. I called the company to complain about this, asking TWO people to tell her manager to call me so I could talk about this. It has been over a week and I still not have heard back from the manager.
