This is a great university in San Angelo. They have really grown over the past 4 years. Their…read moreenrollment now exceeds 10,000 students. They have over 100 majors through their six colleges. The campus is beautiful and has a comforting feeling. They have constantly been updating both their academic and athletic facilities. Their sports teams compete in the Lone Star Conference in the NCAA Division II. I'm proud for our son to attend here.

For example, the video player: - lacks a full-screen mode - lacks subtitles - can't be rewinded if you miss something - doesn't tell you how much time is remaining I understand they don't want folks fast-forwarding all the way thru, but several times I wanted to go back just a few seconds to re-read some on-screen text (remember, the video is teeny tiny especially for those of us with weaker eyes) or repeat what they just said so I could take notes, and my only option was to refresh the entire page and start the video all over again. On a 2 or 3min video clip this wasn't a big deal, but some clips are 20+ mins long and having to start all over was especially frustrating. With the video player coming up the size of a postage stamp, a full-screen button and/or a subtitle option would really make it easier on students! The text-based content has a few minor spelling/grammar mistakes or missing words. The screen also doesn't tell you how many pages are left in a chapter. Again, this makes it difficult for the student to pace themselves or plan ahead (i.e. "I can finish this chapter on my lunch break"). As for the contents of the videos, again they are really old-fashioned. One video has a copyright from 1994. The videos don't acknowledge any modern vehicle safety systems (such as blind-spot detection, automatic braking, automatic headlights, or any kind of driver-assistance system that has been on vehicles for the past 10+ years now). There's also an awkward clip of the two men's velvety wing-backed chairs pressed firmly together, with their (the men's) legs almost touching. Why are these men sitting so close together?

The newly renovated library is very helpful and new student housing keeps showing up all over campus. The small school atmosphere is much like a private university, and professors get to actually know their students. Student life on campus is also growing with tons of organizations and a growing Greek community as well. Overall ASU is a great place to go to school and earn your degree.
