Really shocked by the continued unprofessional and outrageous texts to me and comments here made by Eric ( and not Tim apparently) ( see linked screenshots)... this is how a first responder reacts to a ( no longer potential) client?...I guess he never learned to " not engage!" Anger management!!! In response to his comments to me here on Yelp, I had his contact in my phone, most likely given to me from a colleague years ago, and as I am still licensed in California and thought I had used their services before, I reached out to renew my CPR certification. I asked specific questions regarding how Zoom/virtual teaching would work, because I thought it was a one on one situation. And Eric is right, I have no ability to judge their teaching because I did not take a class, but this review is not in regard to their teaching, it is for their unprofessional and angry/reactive correspondence that I am reviewing. Have been going here for a few years for my BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Renewed my ACLS today and we did 5 different codes. Tim is one of the instructors and he is very good at teaching these courses. You have to call or text to schedule ahead of time and he will give you instructions on payment and scheduling for your classes. read more

Truly Above and Beyond - Thank You Tim! I cannot thank Tim Andrade and CPR Right Away enough for coming through when we were in a total bind. My daughter needed her CPR and First Aid certification for a summer job, and we originally signed up with another provider--only to find out they had no record of her enrollment. It was an absolute mess, and my daughter was heartbroken. Then I remembered seeing CPR Right Away at my old business location and told my daughter to give them a call. She got in touch with Tim, and incredibly, he said he could get her in the next day--a Sunday--which ended up being a private one-on-one class. What I didn't even know until after she finished was that Tim had worked a shift as a paramedic firefighter that same day. And still, he showed up--professional, kind, knowledgeable, and so patient with my daughter. He explained that as a parent himself, he understood how important it was and wanted to help. My daughter walked away from the class feeling confident and empowered, and I walked away feeling so incredibly grateful. Tim didn't have to go out of his way for us. It wasn't about the money--it was about doing something good for someone else, and that kind of heart and dedication is rare. Tim is an excellent instructor-- he's extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He does not tolerate tardiness or unpreparedness, which I greatly appreciate as those students affect the experience of the students who are on time and prepared. My first class with Tim was for my BLS for nursing school, and since then, renewed it twice with him. I've also done ACLS, PALS, ECG and pharmacology, blood borne pathogens, and hospital fire safety. Every class with Tim is a great time. The simulations are fast paced and intense and there is constant review of medications, both of which I believe will have me better prepared for a code in real life. I'll be back in 2 years to renew my certifications, as well as my nursing license. Also, Erica is great! She is friendly and really helps to make the experience the best it can be. read more

I'm currently taking the Harbor College CNA class which requires we obtain our BLS CPR and First Aid certification. We were recommended to attend CPR Right Away, which speaks volume!! Tim and Erica are amazing. Tim is passionate and serious about teaching and it shows. We are learning to save lives, so he explains every concept very thoroughly. Being able to simulate the events hands on was essential for retaining and understanding the information. Erica helped set up and navigate the procedures. Tim was clear and concise with directions. As we practiced the procedure he provided essential feedback. All of this while still providing a fun and inviting atmosphere. Erica was also amazing in providing the lesson on First Aid. CPR Right Away is the best place to take your certification courses! Tim is very informative and knowledgeable in what he does and cares about your comprehension of the materials taught. I have taken my OSHA, BLS, ACLS, and NRP courses here. The NRP course was so helpful in the essentials of neonatal resuscitation. The instructor Brittany had many years of NICU experience and was an expert in this area. Tim is really amazing and informative. The simulations and case studies he gives you aligns with the lecture part of the class. He also makes them very realistic from the patient's condition to the stress/urgency he adds on to the scenario. It seems like he's trying to intimidate you at first, but it really is like this in real life hospital settings. I really like the "tough love" teaching style he emphasizes, you can really tell he wants the best for you. It helps a lot for nursing students like me.
