I took my grandson to learn about gun safety and Mark took his time explaining everything about owning a weapon. He highly emphasized responsibility and gave clear and detailed question and answers as well as showed scenarios and asked my grandson what he would do if he were ever faced with those situations. Mark also went over regulations and laws and even what to do if pulled over and questioned by a police officer. When my grandson was stumped and didn't know how to answer a question, Mark made sure to explain the whys and hows. You are often left to your fellow trainees and senior classmen to help out once on the range backing training, pretrip inspection and brake checking. First off the range trucks are due for the scrap yard, they often break down and are manual transmissions so if you are trying to get your automatic license (the most common in the industry for hiring purposes) this creates yet another barrier to learning to back the vehicle properly while trying to find the right gear or ensuring it out of gear because the transmission is so shot. Next is the advertising of three weeks to get your CDL Class A. The website used to say it was three weeks until you had it in hand (check wayback machine for proof on their site) but now it just says 3 weeks of CDL training. That is, because at least in part to something outside of their control, the DOT requiring a 48 return once they get the training documents. And while that is outside of their control it should be part of the introduction on the first day of class and be part of an FAQ on the website. Not everyone has the luxury of time off if you are taking vacation time or leave to go through the course. Next is the 72 hour wait for the DMV once they get the paperwork that you passed the practical eval (pretrip inspection, Brake/pressure check, range backing and road test). This too was not gone over on the first day nor advertised on their website. Together that is a full extra week you have to wait to get your CDL. Lastly is the quality of after care once you are graduated. We had a large class and while I understand that paperwork takes time, they have been at this for literal decades. So there is little excuse to be so hands off once you pay them for the school. I called up to ask about the DMV situation and I had to call back again once it was clear they were not going to return my call to let me know it would not be until the following week to be able to go to the DMV to get my license. Last and not least is the staff. Out of the 5 people instructing (in class, range and road) there really were only 2 that were any good for the purposes of purely training. The rest were either sleeping, talking about their military time, or disinterested in anything besides having the paperwork, and their payment, done (and any deviation from that was met with stern words and looks). Overall, this is my second time going through this course. Had to drop my CDL because of a tragic family death, so that is on me for not being mentally ok yet. But the quality from the previous time has seriously dropped my evaluation from a solid 5 previously to a solid 3 stars for the reason outlined above. Would I recommend this course to anyone interested in getting their CDL? Yeah, I would. Not because it is the best priced (it isn't) or has the best quality equipment (it doesn't), but because they virtually guarantee you to pass by letting you come back time and gain until you get it right. Not because they are nice people, but because they can show they have a high graduation rate. Very different motive and a good business move I suppose.

I was not expecting to see such a cute small town with a lot of eateries, boutiques, a semi-hilly beach town. Very cute and a lot of the houses are cottages. I am not sure what the population size is, I am sure I could search for it on the internets, but why. Everyone seemed to be friendly. The roads seemed to all be lined with large trees, the harbor full of boats. Very easy to get around here. I don't know why I haven't ever come here before. That is a mistake I will not be making again!

It is a good…read moresize (approx. 17,000) for a small town feel, but also a short ten minute drive to Biloxi for casinos, larger beaches geared more toward tourists, etc. Noted as the home of artist Walter Anderson, it offers a museum honoring his life and work. The downtown area has a number of quirky local eateries and boutiques/shops. The cottage style architecture and shade trees line the main roads in this area and add so much historic, coastal charm. Everywhere I visited the locals were super friendly and it is easy to get around everywhere. Charming place to visit or live.
