When we walked in we were greeted and checked in. Our room was on a very high level and the views were amazing. We also had $100 hotel credit which we used at the bar one night for snacks and drinks. We were welcomed into our room with a cute little gift baggie with chocolates and a card. The room was amazing- had everything you'd need including a microwave which I think some other New Zealand hotels were missing. They had valet parking and providing a service called Turn Down Service. Someone knocked on our door around 6pm to ask if we're interested- I was curious so I asked questions/- what's included, it means they tuck you in, give you tea, and chocolate. I was scared I had to tip so we denied but she was so sweet and offered us the chocolate and tea which is happily took. We also had another instance when I was attempting to warm up leftovers but missing utensils and called downstairs and they delivered three to go utensils packs on a platter like a proper delivery, it was incredible. I have no bad words about this hotel, good proximity to of the main area/ walking distance. Highly recommend if staying in Wellington!

Translation: it is convenient, I walked everywhere during my stay, and I feel extremely safe even at late night. Walk near the water is only 10 minutes walk. To be on Lambton Street is 10 minutes walk. To go to where the restaurants near the water is like 20-25 minutes. I highly recommend Whitebait and Charley Noble. The room here is spacious, functional and super cute. Very boutique hotel and in style.

For.$35 this was largely a terrible deal. I did manage to get the bacon when it was hot as well as the mushrooms so they were edible, but everything else was pretty atrocious, including the lack of service. They are clearly in need of more staff, and especially training them on how to do their jobs

The room itself was very nice with a lot of space and everything was new and clean. Bathroom was spacious and had a great shower. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet and easy to enjoy a good nights sleep. We went upstairs to the lounge to grab a drink and I imagine that during the day it's a beautiful view as you are surrounded with windows. At night there is not much that you could see, but the lounge was nice and the drink was mixed well. It is a pretty pricey stay, but you don't get many amenities. Wifi was additional and had to be renewed which was annoying and expensive. The other thing, is the front desk staff wasn't super friendly to us any of the days we were there. Overall it's a visually impressive hotel and though pricey, a pretty comfortable stay.

The staff was very pleasant at check in and gave some good tips about things to do in the area. The room was very nice and modern. I was impressed with by the granite countertop in the kitchen area and the full size refrigerator. The hotel also had a parking garage, though I did find it difficult to maneuver in. Overall we had a good stay here and I would stay here again.

My best and by far favorite hotel stay whilst in the North Island…read more This place is lovely with its apartment style hotel rooms. It's complete with a living room area, mounted tv, a table set for four. There's a fully stocked kitchen, huge fridge and all the essentials including a kettle, toaster, oven, dishwasher, microwave, knife set, with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for your consumption. The living room, lounge area is wide open with a 5 seat sofa. The bedroom is comfortable with four fluffy pillows. The bathroom is huge, glass counter top with a sunk in sink; both a tub and shower combo. Just has odd set up with no sliding bathroom door, just a swinging window door. It's an awkward shower placement, that weird swinging door isn't wide enough to keep water from getting out of the bath, so be weary of where you place that bathmat. In the bathroom is also a handy two in one washer dryer. All in all, it was a great stay. The parking situation can be prepaid with the hotel, and it is joined to a parking garage, you'd just have to go through the parking garage elevator to get to the right level then take your hotel elevator up to your room. And our window opened up to a gorgeous view...of the parking garage. That's what I loved waking up to. I only kid, everything else about this place was going for it. Walking distance to Cuba Street, it's very centralized and easy to get to and find.

The "king" bed is two saggy twin beds squeezed together, creating a hump and seam in the center. Our more expensive "harbor view" room was actually a view of the street and parking lot. No water in sight, but the rude desk clerk refused to acknowledge this reality and encouraged me to write this review. There is no way to get a cup of coffee or a snack without paying a whopping $38 for their third floor breakfast. Much less overpriced options are close by, but inconvenient in a rush. While the location is very close to Te Papa Museum, most other desirable locations are a bit of a walk. Due to the false advertising, bad attitude, poor lighting and uncomfortable beds, I'd suggest you consider a better property.

The room was comfortable and clean, but for the money the service is lacking.

It was also helpful that the hotel had a washer/dryer in each room so we were able to clean our dirty laundry. The hotel staff was so friendly and welcoming. We opted for valet parking to keep things easy. You can get your car anytime you want and revalet it for no extra cost. Our room was on the 13th floor, with a cemetery in the back of the hotel, I was wondering if that was a sign, but all went well. Our room was spacious with a living room, kitchen, and bedroom. Beds and pillows were comfy. Shower was nice and hot. The only thing is the building creaked - like a lot. It was hard to sleep at times. It's apparently because of the wind and shifting of the building.

I selected their signature 1837 Black Tea while my partner tried the Royal Darjeeling and later their South African red tea, Eternal Summer. All of our choices were whole leaf teas with distinctive and complex aromas and taste. We each had a glass of Allan Scott's Cecelia Brut, with fine bubbles, from New Zealand's Marlborough region. On the three tiered tray were savory items including a cheese and bacon scone with an avocado spread, a ham and cheese sandwich and a sausage in a puff pastry. All of the sweets other than the tiramisu were chocolate items. A fruit tart or a scone would have been appreciated. We enjoyed lovely service by a friendly local who was quite engaging and educational about the extensive tea selections available.
