The best in San Diego! Hands down!! We have been on the hunt and tried over 6 "recommended" places in San Diego from other foodies and this crab boil has the best: * consistency every time we go * flavor (levels are all legit) * has the best sausage * garlic butter (kid option is a must / balanced flavor) * fast and FRESH * their ratios to corn, potatoes, sausage is * FAIR pricing for what you get * cleanliness of the location * friendly staff

2lbs snow crab and 1lb headless shrimp
    Kim D.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered 2lbs snow crab & 1lb headless shrimp with house seasoning at medium spice. We also got a bowl of clam chowder and a plate of garlic noodles. I loved that I didn't have to peel shrimp! The seafood was delicious not overly cooked. The chowder was a tiny bland but the noodles delivered every bit of it's garlicky promise! The sauce was good, not the best but solid. I do prefer Boiling Crab's whole shebang sauce. I think its missing lemon pepper. Lunch totaled 122.00 but we had enough left overs for dinner.

You can find free parking in the big lot on the far right. I do have to take off a star because the young guy that looked like he worked there, didn't acknowledge us. I would have been fine if he just sat us down and gave us the menus, but he didn't. I thought about leaving to be honest. One of the older women sat us. We got the combo B and that was more than enough for us. Yes we did finish the whole thing. The price for combo B is $100. You get crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, snow crab, potatoes, sausage, and corn. The size of the seafood is already bigger than the one in Illinois. We had the Cajun house special sauce. The service from the older women was fantastic. The seafood was delectable and I truly got my money's worth.

Lunch turns out is just as great as dinner. There are two lunch specials offered. Liz, recommended that I try their Fancy lunch. Oh my, oh my! Fancy lunch was next level as it comes with a lobster tail. I mixed mine up a bit with shrimp and green mussels. Both specials come with a drink, rice or garlic bread included. This place is addictive and clean. The flavor and service are consistent and great. It's safe to say I will be back

Yes we found a great Seafood Boil place in the South part of San Diego. As we live in the SouthBay it was hard to find a good one near by & we went to many. We always had to drive far & up north for a good one but not anymore because we found Crab City & my whole family loves it! First I got to talk about our waitress we had 2 times her name is Liz I belive, a young Asian girl, very polite, helpful, fast & very attentive. She is the reason I went up to 5 stars I was at a good solid 4 stars but her customer service & the rest of the staff push it to 5 stars & it's well earned. Also it's very clean inside & out, it can be a bit warm during the afternoon but they have good fans & little ones for your table if needed which is cool. Now let's talk about the food, AMAZING! Honestly the best Seafood Boil I've had, true story. The flavor is great if you get it spicy or not & I recommend get the shrimp with no head it's easier to eat & don't bring a white shirt you might get dirty as you should if you eat fast like me. Love the muscles, shrimp, crab leg, sausage & potatoes, potatoes come cut in half's, I cut those in half too before you shake the bag so there's more, they are pretty big. And don't sleep on their Cajan fries they're very good, also love their catfish it's mouth watering. Been here 3 times & the whole fam loves it, my daughters even come without us with their boyfriends. We live in Chula Vista & go out our way to come here & will continue to come. They have us as loyal customers for sure, keep up the great work Crab City & see you soon! :)

    Lunch special - crawfish

First time visiting. I got the lunch special with crawfish, spicy. It was a generous portion for the price, and I enjoyed the cajun sauce. I took a star off because my friend got some hard-boiled eggs on the side and one of the halves was bad. She had to spit it out, and it took a few minutes for her stomach to settle. I let the restaurant know, and they offered to replace the egg for her, but after the bad egg, she lost her appetite and didn't want to take the chance. They didn't remove the eggs from the bill which I think was in poor taste. I'd be willing to return again but wouldn't trust the eggs. Other than that, the staff did a great job at making sure we were taken care of.

Seafood Boil: shrimp, snow crab legs and mussels

This was my first time having a seafood boil, and wow what an introduction! I had the shrimp, snow crab legs, and mussels with a mild Cajun sauce, plus a side of lemon, salt, pepper, and butter. It came out hot, juicy, and fresh. The portion was huge. I could barely finish it but every bite was flavorful and satisfying. The service was just right: friendly, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. They checked on me multiple times and made sure I had everything I needed. Now let's talk about cleanliness....immaculate. From the front door to the bathroom (which, yes, was so clean you could eat in there--though I wouldn't), everything was spotless. That matters when you're cracking crabs with gloves and a bib, and your table's covered in a white paper sheet. They've got it down to a science. I've had some great meals during my San Diego visit, but this spot ranks near the top. If you're in Barrio Logan and craving seafood, don't miss this gem!

Ordered 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp. I was hoping it would be separate as I wanted crawfish and my husband wanted shrimp, however it came in a bag. No big deal we just separated it. The shrimp were definitely jumbo sized, and we got about 10 pieces for 1 lb order. A bit overcooked and made it hard to peel. Crawfish was really disappointing, they were not fresh and probably either dead or dying. They were gray, tasted weird and we were not fans. Sausage were cut to a decent side. The house sauce is okay, nothing amazing or spectacular. Definitely better options around.

Okay, my search for the best San Diego seafood boil has officially ended after trying crab city. This is actually my go-to place from now on when it's my bf and I's monthly seafood boil date. Growing up in Orange County, I've been spoiled with bomb seafood boil places like kicking crab. When I moved to San Diego, I found it hard to find anywhere that was comparable... until now. Crab city is located below an apartment? and near a lot of other restaurants so there was plentiful of parking! We came around 7pm and didn't have to wait :) My bf and I ordered the spicy combo A in Cajun house special sauce which comes with a lb each of crawfish, shrimp, clams, and mussels. Surprisingly, we also found corn, potatoes and sausage in our dish!! We also ordered a side of Cajun fries and omg so good, it wasn't spicy but the dry Cajun seasoning somehow tastes different from what I'm used to but I'm definitely a fan! The sauce for the boil is THICKKK, just how we like it where there's chunks of garlic in it. Their sauce is so good, like I can't get over how perfect it is with the perfect balance of Cajun and garlic. Their 'spicy' had a kick but was still enjoyable! I'm definitely coming back once a month with my boyfriend and will be telling all my friends!

It was my first time here and I absolutely loved it! I came late night around 830pm and they close at 9. They didn't rush me to order and were so nice about me coming in 30 mins to closing. It was super spacious and very clean inside. Parking was easy on a weds night. It was $90 for combo A and added a half pound of shrimp. They actually don't do half pounds here but since it was just me and my friend they said they would make an exception! We spent $90 and $10 for tip. It's expensive but so worth it!

Liz taking our crab boil out of the bag.

We came here on Saturday March 14, 2026 to celebrate my nephew's 12th birthday and he wanted CRAB! It was our first time, but had a recommendation from family members. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by Liz. Very warm, polite and welcoming. We order (2) crab, shrimp (headless) boil along with an order of calamari, wing and fries. It was too much for us to eat and the portions are generous. The crab boil we had was spicy and garlicky the sauce is very tasty. The calamari, wings are fried in a light batter that's not greasy at all. Reminds me of how my Mom would fry here chicken-delicious. Liz was our server and she is very nice and kept checking with us to make sure we had all we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good quality food! Thank you for the great service & food. Karen & Denise

I absolutely love this place. The flavor is amazing just the right spice for me. I always get mild house special. The seafood is always fresh and hot. Adding on to the amazing taste, I have to mention the beyond amazing customer service. My family and I have been coming here for the last 3 years. Let me start with Sandra, she is so knowledgeable of the menu and always suggests the best dishes. Always greets us with a smile and is in point refilling our drinks. Lluvia is also very kind and attentive to our needs. Always friendly and approachable. She definitely makes us feel appreciated and welcome. Last but not lease, Liz is always nice and remembers our preference even when I call on the phone she recognize my voice and always remember my favorite dish. And when we dine in she's always happy to see us. Overall, this place is amazing! Fantastic food and excellent customer service.

Best place to grab a drink, ask for Luvia to make you a michelada. Never fails, always amazing. Greetings before opening the door, smiling staff, a great atmosphere. I have been coming here since they opened. Love the staff from the kitchen to the front (Richard,Sandra, Luvia). The owner really has a great crew.

We sat inside, though there is also a lovely patio outside with umbrellas. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. It was a bit noisy inside since there isn't much to absorb the sound, so you may need to speak a little louder during conversation. I did find the lunch menu to be expensive. We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday, and everyone seemed happy with their dishes: a shrimp po' boy sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and pasta with tomato cream sauce and shrimp. I ordered the chicken po' boy sandwich. The sandwiches were served with seasoned fries, but unfortunately the fries looked and tasted like they had been sitting for a a while--dry and not very fresh. My chicken po' boy was disappointing. The sandwich had tomatoes and some iceberg lettuce, but no sauce, which made it very plain. While the chicken itself was tender, it lacked flavor and the overall dish felt like it wasn't prepared with much care. For a $21.50 sandwich that was essentially a few pieces of chicken breast with tomatoes, lettuce, and old fries, it felt like an expensive mistake. Perhaps other dishes on the menu are excellent. However, having grown up with a father who was a top chef, I tend to notice when simple dishes--like sandwiches and fries--aren't executed well. These are usually some of the easiest things to get right, which made the experience even more disappointing for me.

The best seafood boil in all of San Diego in my opinion, and I've tried many places (yes, including…read moreCrab Hut). The main reasons why this is my top spot are: -Seafood Quality - the clams here are BIG and don't fall out of the shell, and the shrimp is always perfectly cooked and not mealy. The crab clusters are big and juicy as well. -Sauce - I always get the Torpedo Sauce (the house mix-of-all-of-them sauce) but instead of just tasting like garlic, lemon, old bay, "the sum is equal to more than the parts". In other words, the flavors meld together and are magical. I have heard some say that the sauce here leans sweet, and it definitely does have sugar, but I find it balanced. Also, it is mostly emulsified and does not have a thick layer of pure oil that runs off the seafood like some places' sauces. -Other Factors: they used to have a free fries deal for posting on social media (gone as of Feb '26 though), but they still have $1 oysters on some days, I like their fruit tea pitchers which are great for large parties, and they also give free Vietnamese chè for dessert! I rank this higher than Crab Hut because a) it's cheaper, Crab Hut is expensive even for seafood boil, and b) I prefer the sauce here. But Crab Hut is also S tier in San Diego so you can't go wrong with either.

I ordered Combo 3, which states it includes 1 lb of clams, but there were very few clams in the bag--certainly nowhere near what I expected. In addition, there were no sausages at all and only 1-2 small potatoes included. Mistakes happen, but between the ordering issue and the missing ingredients, the meal did not match what was advertised. I hope the restaurant improves both its order management process and quality control.

That's a management issue. The sausage portion options are oddly limited too -- only a half pound or full pound, nothing in between, which feels unnecessarily restrictive. Biggest miss: the calamari. One bite and I was done -- it had "frozen grocery store bag" written all over it. Skip it entirely. The garlic bread is in the same boat, obviously store-bought, though it's passable enough. Stick to the seafood boil, avoid the appetizers, and hope you visit on a well-staffed night.

Quite literally one of the worst crab boil AND service experience I've ever had…read more Sean, my server, made my dining experience twice as long as it needed to be. First, he comes over within a minute of me sitting down and I say I need a few minutes to decide which he responds by not coming back for 10+ minutes! Then he takes my order and I get my food but then I have to wait for him to bring the utensils?! Then, I get the utensils and I'm eating and I'm real realizing this food sucks!! There's no seasoning, it's literally just a bag of seafood and oil smh. I tried to get his attention so I can get some salt and pepper and it took him over 15 minutes to come over to me?!!!!!!!! Whole time I'm waiting this dude is cleaning dirty tables that are empty!!!!!!!! Mind you, after it took him super long to come back the second time, I asked for a new server and instead of obliging management said he was new and that I should just stop anyone that's walking by and ask for what I need and then proceeded to just sent me over a drink from the bar that I didn't order?? Like thank you but fulfilling my request would've been apology enough!! The icing on the cake was when I did stop someone to get my to go boxes and instead of getting it for me, she went and told him and he came back over and asked me if that's what she said?!! Like whatttt???????????? The overall incompetence was quite infuriating and I would 100% recommend Crab Hut on Convoy over them!! I'm so mad I just wanted to try somewhere new smh Yoooo go read their other bad reviews!! "Management" only responds to threaten and belittle the complainants like they've never heard the word accountability before?! Bro yall suck as a business and should convert into a karaoke spot or something
