Parking 4/5 -We parked for free in the plaza across the street, just a short walk, pretty convenient. Service 5/5 -Attentive and efficient staff, it was busy but we were seated and our food came out quickly. Food 5/5 -Combo A with two orders of white rice, I LOVED how fat and juicy their clams were, wow these were the meatiest clams I've had from a seafood boil place and they were super clean, no sand at all. Shrimp was really fresh because the meat was firm and not soggy at all, mussels and crawfish were also very solid. The quality of rice, sausage, potato, corn were all outstanding. I do wish there were more sauce to dip the seafood in. Ambiance 5/5 -Lighting was fun and very aquatic, this would be a fun place to come for family dinner or a celebration meal. I wanted to love this place but I left confused... 2 stars because the Cajun fries were good. Waited 10 min to get a table, 10min to get our order taken since apparently there was only one waitress for the whole place and a cashier and the place was at her 90%. I got a pound of shrimp (pretty disappointed since I wasn't able to order just a 1/2 pound idk why but ok) with the combo (corn, sausage and potato) and some boiled eggs with the house special sauce mild. Tell me why my sauce is sweet and with a weird consistency? it ruined the whole meal, not garlic tasted, no flavor other then sweet like those sweet and salty popcorns you get at the fair. I have to flag my waiter in order to get the check because she forgot about us, stand up to the bar to get a refill and do you want a bag to go? Stand up and grab it yourself from the counter. When we asked if the shades could be pulled down we were told it was broken and the other tables were already reserved... ok. When ordering we asked how spicy the levels are in comparison to like Thai/Lao spice (since those cuisine are spicier) but the waiter was unfamiliar and could only compare to Dave's hot chicken and he said that Dave's was spicier. Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered 2lbs snow crab & 1lb headless shrimp with house seasoning at medium spice. We also got a bowl of clam chowder and a plate of garlic noodles. I loved that I didn't have to peel shrimp! The seafood was delicious not overly cooked. The chowder was a tiny bland but the noodles delivered every bit of it's garlicky promise! I would have been fine if he just sat us down and gave us the menus, but he didn't. I thought about leaving to be honest. One of the older women sat us. Visited last week around Comic Con, the food and service were great! What was incredibly disappointing was that there was no AC inside on a very hot day. They were relying on only one fan in the restaurant to cool the entire place. I know my party and myself were cooking in there. I felt so bad for the workers having to be in there for hours with no AC. Honestly, shame on the owners for not having the AC on or not fixing a broken AC. Yes we found a great Seafood Boil place in the South part of San Diego. As we live in the SouthBay it was hard to find a good one near by & we went to many. We always had to drive far & up north for a good one but not anymore because we found Crab City & my whole family loves it! First I got to talk about our waitress we had 2 times her name is Liz I belive, a young Asian girl, very polite, helpful, fast & very attentive. She is the reason I went up to 5 stars I was at a good solid 4 stars but her customer service & the rest of the staff push it to 5 stars & it's well earned. Also it's very clean inside & out, it can be a bit warm during the afternoon but they have good fans & little ones for your table if needed which is cool. Now let's talk about the food, AMAZING! Honestly the best Seafood Boil I've had, true story. The flavor is great if you get it spicy or not & I recommend get the shrimp with no head it's easier to eat & don't bring a white shirt you might get dirty as you should if you eat fast like me. Love the muscles, shrimp, crab leg, sausage & potatoes, potatoes come cut in half's, I cut those in half too before you shake the bag so there's more, they are pretty big. And don't sleep on their Cajan fries they're very good, also love their catfish it's mouth watering. His shirt was black, so the dandruff falling was so visible. First time visiting. I got the lunch special with crawfish, spicy. It was a generous portion for the price, and I enjoyed the cajun sauce. I took a star off because my friend got some hard-boiled eggs on the side and one of the halves was bad. She had to spit it out, and it took a few minutes for her stomach to settle. I let the restaurant know, and they offered to replace the egg for her, but after the bad egg, she lost her appetite and didn't want to take the chance. They didn't remove the eggs from the bill which I think was in poor taste. I'd be willing to return again but wouldn't trust the eggs. Okay, my search for the best San Diego seafood boil has officially ended after trying crab city. This is actually my go-to place from now on when it's my bf and I's monthly seafood boil date. Growing up in Orange County, I've been spoiled with bomb seafood boil places like kicking crab. When I moved to San Diego, I found it hard to find anywhere that was comparable... until now. Crab city is located below an apartment? and near a lot of other restaurants so there was plentiful of parking! We came around 7pm and didn't have to wait :) My bf and I ordered the spicy combo A in Cajun house special sauce which comes with a lb each of crawfish, shrimp, clams, and mussels. Surprisingly, we also found corn, potatoes and sausage in our dish!! We also ordered a side of Cajun fries and omg so good, it wasn't spicy but the dry Cajun seasoning somehow tastes different from what I'm used to but I'm definitely a fan! The sauce for the boil is THICKKK, just how we like it where there's chunks of garlic in it. Their sauce is so good, like I can't get over how perfect it is with the perfect balance of Cajun and garlic. Their 'spicy' had a kick but was still enjoyable! Food was delicious, took awhile because it was busy but that's understandable. What is not understandable is the attitude that the older lady in the front gave to the young staff. At one point she slammed her hand in the wall to get the attention of the young lady working to see if a customer had paid and when i first came in she was snapping at the young man in the back telling him to pay attention then later on asking why he's even in the front in a nasty attitude. As a former manager that is not a way to treat employees ESPECIALLY in front of customers, very uncomfortable. In positive news Liz was SO SWEET, everytime i'm here she has the best attitude and service. We came here on Saturday March 14, 2026 to celebrate my nephew's 12th birthday and he wanted CRAB! It was our first time, but had a recommendation from family members. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by Liz. Very warm, polite and welcoming. We order (2) crab, shrimp (headless) boil along with an order of calamari, wing and fries. It was too much for us to eat and the portions are generous. The crab boil we had was spicy and garlicky the sauce is very tasty. The calamari, wings are fried in a light batter that's not greasy at all. Reminds me of how my Mom would fry here chicken-delicious. I always order via Grubhub from here a few times already. I've never dined in. I like their seafood combo A it's pretty inexpensive and I like their seasonings. Their crawfish are huge and they have forgotten clams in my combo before and didn't notify me if they were all out. I get all the above for sauces cajun house special and usually get either spicy or very spicy when I'm needing that kick. Their sauce could be thicker but it's pretty good it's not salty or sweet. I do wish they included bibs, gloves, and even lemon and salt and pepper when you do takeout though because it'd be a helpful touch. First off, the food here is very good, so is the service. The serving sizes for what we paid were more than adequate, and they had the Padres game on the televisions, we are huge fans. I have a couple reasons for not giving 4 or 5 stars. They do not have a full bar, at the price points for the food, a cocktail with the sake infused with whatever made it taste like vodka or tequilla was dissapointing. Also, the place was so full of very agressive flies. The employees were giving everyone these battery powered fans to keep the flies off our food but they flew right under the fans and got stuck in the sauce a number of times. Nobody wants to eat food that has house flies swimming in the sauce. I would recommend an air barrier at the front door and maybe not have the door wide open. I only drank half my drink because a fly flew into it and went for a swim. read more
